 ((Command Center, GSS Nuach, Present))
As the Nuach swung around, Kelpach eyes bulged to see what the shuttle was firing upon.   Something massive. Larger than any vessel he'd ever seen, and strangely organic looking. For a second the ship looked unperturbed by the energy, but it didn't last as the Huxarian ship came into view in close proximity to what had only moments before been invisible.

Suddenly the organic-looking hull began to glow orange before unleashing a ring of energy that raced out and swept up the frigate, only to dissipate quickly before reaching them.  While the Nuach was untouched, the results on the Huxarians were devestating. Bright green plasma vented from the rear of the ship as it spun in place and began putting distance between the thing and itself.

Kelpach: Admiral, the Huxarian ship has taken heaving damage.  I'm trying to route power to the forward shields in case of another energy burst, but I recommend we withdraw to a safer distance.

Again, the hull glowed orange, and another blast eminated from the massive thing before it faded away before their eyes once again. This shockwave nearly dissipated completely before hitting the Huxarians, but Jorah could still see the ship rock with the impact.

Kelpach knew without doubt that the Nauch would not survive such an encounter

Jorah: Open a channel to everyone in the area. Wide band.

Kelpach: Opening channel sir!

Jorah: I intend to buy us some time and find out what is going on. (Pause) =/\= This is Admiral Jorah of the Nuach to all vessels within range. Cease fire immediately and power down weapon systems. We will do the same. =/\=

The comm cracked slightly with static with no immediate response. Kelpach tried to clear up the static and focus the comm channel.  Finally, an alien voice sounded over the speakers in the command center.

Corelli: =/\= Admiral Jorah, this is the shuttle Tigris, that was not a weapon, however we agree to your request. =/\=

Kelpach: Sir I'll start to power down weapon systems, but did that ship get this far out into deep space on its own.  Surely there's another, larger ship nearby.

Kelpach punched the final sequence to shut down the weapons arrays, but immediately sent  a message to engineering vial internal text based message "Priority power restoration to FTL drives and plasma turrets - Command"

Jorah: =/\= I would like to know what has brought us all here. =/\=

Corelli: =/\= Time seems to be broken here.  It could be that large creature, or some other cause, we are still investigating. Please let us know your intentions. =/\=

Kelpach: That thing was a lifeform?  Surely that can't be.  :: Kelpach shifted nerviously::  I agree with the temporal anomaly analysis, but to have chronitons and anti-chronitons generated by a life form.  How is that possible?

Jorah: =/\=  Indeed. We intend to stabilize our vessel and recover to our own time, provided our Huxarian friends listening in do not intend to continue their aggression. =/\=

Kelpach wondered if the Huxarians were hearing this or if their comms were down completely.  Considering the hit form the "creature" it was possible the majority of the crew had perished.

Dar/Corelli: =/\=  Response =/\=

Jorah: =/\= And we are to take your word for it? =/\=

Kelpach: I'll start scanning the area.  See if I can determine what is going on out there, but our sensors are barley functioning.

Garcia: =/\= Admiral Jorah, let's adjourn for a moment while your teams verify our claims about the temporal distortion. Once you've satisfied yourself of this, we can look at the options. =/\=

Kelpach: I can confirm the presence of the chronitons and anti-chronitons in the space around this…scrapyard.  I can't tell how far it extends and I can't tell whether the creature is generating them or whether the battle between our and the Huxarians fleet somehow damaged spacetime in this region .  The chronitons and anti-chronitons have dropped since that thing disappeared, but they are not gone entirely.

Jorah: I don't like it, we're vulnerable, but there's no denying what we saw.  (pause) Is there anything in the historical records like this?

Kelpach: The library computer is down, but I don't recall any stories like this at the academy.  We should start with getting the FTL drive online.  That will get us out of the region if needed.   I'll keep monitoring the sensor information.

Jorah: Very well. We'll get as much repaired as we can while we gather data...

A new alert from incoming communication cut him off, and Jorah raised an eyebrow as the panel informed them who the hail had come from. With a press of a button, the speakers sounded with a new voice.

Styvix: =/\=Admiral Jorah, we seemed to find ourselves with the same problem.=/\=

Jorah: =/\= You seem to have me at a disadvantage Huxarian. Whom am I speaking to? =/\=

Arxiv: =/\=  Response =/\=

Kelpach: =/\=  As the Nauch's tactical officer, I'm warning you that we have weapons functionality if needed.  The damage you took from that energy burst would put you at a disadvantage if you chose to engage us. =/\=

Styvix: =/\=I would like to propose a truce.  For now.=/\=

The admiral turned to Kelpach with a surprised look, only to be followed with annoyance. Just like the Huxarians to put their arrogance on display. Jorah had made the first move to a cease fire, but here the Huxarians were trying to make it sound like their idea.

Jorah: =/\= The shape your vessel is in, I don't doubt it.  I'm sure you know all too well the status of my ship however. We seem to be in the same predicament. =/\=

Styvix/Arxiv: Response

Jorah: =/\= Look around this system. The battle was obviously pyrrhic for whoever won. Do you think either of our governments would have left this all here for a thousand years if we had the means to do something about it? =/\=

Kelpach felt as if he'd been punched in the gut.  The Gamorians would not have left these honored dead to rot in space had they been able to come to recover them.  Whatever had come next for his people must have been catastrophic.

Kelpach:  =/\=  Our people do not make a habit of abandoning those who fought in defense of the home world. =/\=

Styvix/Arxiv: =/\=  Response =/\=

Jorah: =/\= Both of our vessels will likely have a meaningless impact on the outcome, but I expect that you, like me, don't care. I will not leave the fleet to their destruction without me if I can return. I suggest we work together to make that a reality. We can kill each other later. =/\=

Styvix/Arxiv:  =/\=  Response =/\=

Kelpach shuddered.  If the outcome of the battle would not change why go back.  Why not try to pick up the pieces in this time and allow the Gamorians to survive.  Then another thought dawned on him.

Kelpach:  ::Kelpach closed the comm channel::  Sir, my scans show that we and the Huxarians have "complimentary" damage.  I don't believe either ship is able to return alone without help, but we might be able to pool resources and return together.

Kelpach wondered if the old man's pride could be overcome

Jorah: Response

Kelpach:  And if we returned together (beat) maybe together we could stop the calamity that destroys our races.

Jorah: Response
