((Deck 13, USS Thor))There were days when
Feredo’s diary was filled with utterly mundane activities. There were only so many politicians patting themselves on the back and droning on about priorities that he could handle. That’s what had prompted his first ‘escape’ off planet, to discharge some duties on Seytoxal, which is where he’d
met Josh.
After that, he looked for opportunities where he could mix business and pleasure -- he felt there was no harm if these ‘serendipitous opportunities’ benefitted both him and his planet, Zayox. In fact, he’d be commended on his ‘renewed interest’ in intergovernmental affairs. And another opportunity had afforded itself to him now.
The subject matter would be relatively dull, a seminar in which he would speak on how minor systems like his own have benefited from leveraging trade to harden crop resiliency. He was transporting a number of seed samples to be traded in exchange for a promise to open broader trade negotiations.
Hosted in a pocket of space known as Little Alpha, there was a notation that diplomats could seek approval to be transported from Deep Space 14 to the conference, aboard the USS Thor. He wasn’t a religious person, at least not to the same depth as the ship’s first officer, but the universe did offer a staggering number of coincidences at times.
Now, here he was about the ship. He hadn’t yet disclosed to Josh that he was aboard; he suspected that the man might now be given the duty post he held, but why expect the surprise to be spoiled?
He wasn’t sure exactly how to spring the surprise, and as he debated potential ideas, he decided he’d ponder it in the
Brew Continuum. As he traversed the threshold, he stopped short of running into someone who was coming the opposite way.
Feredo: My apologies.
Saa: Response
He expected a polite nod and for the young platinum-haired officer to continue on with her day, but without a pressing appointment, he wouldn’t mind indulging in a moment of conversation.
Feredo: Feredo, envoy of Zayox.
Saa: Response
Well, at least Josh had registered their relationship as high enough to disclose it to her, a positive sign for their relationship. Josh, on the other hand, had been rather tight-lipped about his time with the
Thor, which had been a response to his own reticence to detail his day job.
Feredo: Yes, that Feredo and ::shaking his head:: our paths haven’t crossed yet… intentionally.
Saa: Response
Feredo: I tend to try to pop out of the woodwork. A way of keeping that magic alive in a similar manner to how we first met, if you will. In fact, perhaps you could assist with.
