((Shuttle Bay 1, Deck 9, USS Ronin))
As Taj'el asked the question and produced a PADD of their own Jack appreciated the thoroughness in preparation but it had been unecessary. Jack as well was thorough, very thorough at his job. No one came aboard the Ronin without he and his security teams doing a full background and history review of that person. It was not something he would adverstise and he would take the PADD to compare what the Lieutneant was providing against the Starfleet Medical database for this officers approved medications. Again, he left no stone unturned when it came to the safety and wellbeing of his crew or any visiting the Ronin.
Kessler: ::accepting the PADD:: Thank you Lieutenant, or do you prefer Doctor?
Taj'el: Doctor is preferable.
Kessler: Very good Doctor. The Ronin's current assignment has us patrolling the Alpha Isle's. ::turning a gesturing:: If you'll accompany me, I have guest quarters arranged for you on Deck 04. We'll drop off your gear and then I am assuming you will want to see the ship? Maybe starting with Sickbay?
Taj'el: That would be most agreeable. I thank you Lieutenant Kessler.
Jack turned and headed for the corridor access with Taj'el at his side. He glanced over to the Vulcan who was a good deal shorter than he was and smiled.
Kessler: So how is the Thor doing these days?
Taj'el: That would depend on your definition of “how it is.” It had been functional and undamaged. It is curious, you speak as if you were familiar with it.
Jack had started his Starfleet career on the Thor, fresh out of the academy. He had been wide-eyed and as eager as one could be to get out in space and the Thor had a very special place in his heart and mind.
Kessler: Yes, I served aboard the Thor right out of the academy. Amazing ship and you have a strong command team leading her. ::entering a turbolift:: Deck Four. ::turning to Taj'el:: So what brings you to the Ronin Doctor?
Taj'el: You served on the Thor? It had been my understanding that the vessel had only recently been launched. Perhaps I had been mistaken. I too have started my Starfleet career on the Thor.
Jack stepped to the side as Taj'el entered behind him. Yes the Thor had just launched but for the second time. A newer, stronger Thor. A slight smile crossed his face as he thought about the new bridge, the new amenities the ship had that were not there when he had first served aboard the vessel. State of the art was an understatement when it came to some of the new addons to the Thor, such as all the transporter gates leading from one area to another. Security could transit the ship in seconds rather than minutes.
Taj’el: I had come to conduct research and to offer some medical assistance. However, it appeared that during the time it had taken me to arrive, your crew had already resolved much of whatever situation had occurred. I had not been provided with extensive details.
Taj'el pulled out a personal PADD and made some notes on it as Jack looked on.
Kessler: During my second mission on the Thor, she was severely crippled and nearly destroyed in the Gamma quadrant.
Jack fell silent for a moment as he thought about the Thor and that fateful mission that put the ship on the bottom of an ocean. The mission that he saw fellow crewmates for the first time fall in battle. He came out of that mission a different person. His father had been a Starship Captain and he knew the risks. He knew what wearing the uniform meant but he'd never had someone actually lose their life standing right next to him. That moment had hit him much harder than he ever envisioned it would.
Taj’el: Then, how long have you been surviving on the Ronin sir? This is a long journey unless the Thor was not in the Gamma Quadrant when you served.
Kessler: ::turning to Taj'el:: Not too long actually. Just a few months. I transferred over from the USS Octavia E. Butler. Following the incident that crippled the Thor, our crew had been transferred to the USS Oumaumua and then to the Butler when she was ready to launch.
Taj’el: If I may, may I inquire about what occurred on the Ronin? If the matter is confidential, I understand.
The turbolift came to halt and the doors whooshed open. Jack took the lead and exited the lift and entered the corridor. A few paces down a short corridor came to a T-junction and he turned right and slowed his pace just enough to allow the Vulcan to take a stride next to him.
Kessler: Our last mission was quite unusual. ::beat:: Or maybe it was usual for the Alpha Isle's. I am still learning as much about this region of space as I can. It's significantly different from the Gamma Quadrant.
Jack stopped in front of a set of doors and tapped the entry control on the wall mounted panel. The doors slid open and he gestured to the inside, this time allowing Taj'el to take the lead. Following the Vulcan through the doorway he paused and glanced around the guest quarters.

Taj'el: response
Kessler: Not as fancy as those on the Thor. Please make yourself at home. You'll have full access to the ship's computer and services granted up to your usual security clearances.
Jack noted Taj'el's movement as they sat their gear down and inspected the room.
Taj'el: response
Kessler: On this deck, section seven, starboard side is the 47 Lounge. Popular social area for the crew. There is also a fitness suite. Holosuites 1, 2, 3, and 4 and the upper level to the Arboretum.
