PNPC SCPO Kiran Rork - Great Acoustics

Senior Chief Kiran Rork stood looking over his brand-new Type 33 CQC phaser rifle. He shook his head; they had to develop these after the Dominion War. He decided to help fortify the space station because It’s what he was good at. Right now, he was standing at the entrance of Jefferies Tube 73, with Senior Chief Solana placing biometric scanners and visual nodes. This is a high-tech way of stinging up cans across a dark cave entrance as an early detection system.
Kiran::: looking up the tube:: The acoustics in these things are fantastic; you can hear everything. On the Potemkin, I’d find a Jefferies tube and play guitar. At least, that’s what I was telling myself.
Solana: RESPONSE
Rork could hear her banging around, trying to set the devices. He had volunteered to do it but was told that wasn’t an option. Who was he to argue?
Kiran: According to the COB, I was stringing up a Ferengi by the lobes. So I put that practice to bed, and now I play music while working…
He was trying to make small talk because, as many times as he’d done things like this, there were still the ‘pre-game’ butterflies. Rork was one to double or triple-check everything. It was how his mind worked, and it was part of why he was also an engineer. Though changing departments would benefit Kiran, he felt this was where he could give his all for the Ronin.
Solana: RESPONSE
While working in engineering, he had only a few random encounters with Chief Solana. He was sure they were the only two senior chiefs on the ship. He was sure they would have to promote someone to Chief to take his place, but that was not any of his worries now. The one thing that amazed him about the Orion was how young she was; she was already a master chief. But from what he could tell and her jacket, she was the best at what she did.
There's no reason to argue with that. Right?
Kiran: I just hate this holding pattern we’re in. The Ronin is playing wounded, then punching them in the nose and falling back to here. It’s all a waiting game.
Solana: RESPONSE
He checked the belt on his tactical vest. He’d brought some of Marty’s tactical EMP grenades and one of the last few thermoplastic grenades. He got a chance to test them out on the holodeck, and they came as advertised.
Kiran: Says we need to head to Junction 34 Beta; it has an airlock and a Jefferies tube. Let's make sure what you've installed is working.
He pulled up his tricorder and ran a scan; both devices worked within normal parameters. He looked down either hallway. Crews were working to fortify bulkheads and set up choke points.
