Michele looked from Roop to Deacon and then caught T’Fearne’s gaze lingering on the sealed door. A deep vibration rippled through the deck, the sound of magnetic clamps disengaging. The pounding from within the bay faded as Cargo Bay 02 detached and drifted into the void. oO Ok that was more like what I expected. Oo
Roop: How do we describe...living vapors in a report, Sirs?
Winters: ::looking to Roop:: Good work Ensign. ::looking to Deacon and T'Fearne:: You two ok?
Deacon: I’m good for the moment. Give me a few hours, and I'll get back to you.
T’Fearne: ::lowering her weapon, voice steady:: For now, the threat is contained. I recommend we assume those two weren’t alone.
Roop: Do they have any spaceflight capability? We only cast them away. They may have survived the decompression, as tough as they seemed.
Winters: I have no idea but that's a great question and a scary one too.
Deacon: Yeah, they can survive in a vacuum. But they’re sealed in that cargo hold, and if they get out, they’re just going to float around until they get sucked into some planetoid’s gravity pull and they’re burned up in atmo. I don’t think we need to worry about them for the time being.
T'Fearne: Response
Roop: So, this was the second time you've fought these things, Lieutenant? ::looking at Deacon::
Winters: We need a better defense and lets really hope there is not a third time.
Deacon: Unfortunately, Ensign, yes. And they keep getting creepier and harder to kill. The best way to disable them is to hit the spot directly in the center of the undercarriage. That will usually do the trick, but not always. Depends on the size, too.
T'Fearne: Response
Roop: How in the heavens did the Ronin ever survive that?
Winters: How indeed? Can we use that to our advantage or would these bots have adapted to your strategy from the last encounter?
Deacon: A lot of airlocking and explosives. Chief Tucker had to cleanse one of the laboratories because it had freed itself from stasis and had to burn it to a crisp.
T'Fearne/Roop: Response
Winters: Ok, so we assume there are more or those two can get back aboard. How do we take them out without dismantling the rest of the ship?
Deacon: Someone said they had a photon grenade or two? Those would help immensely. But the problem is that some of these models have personal shields.
He glanced at the group, hoping he didn’t just up their anxiety levels.
T'Fearne/Roop: Response
Winters: I wasn't here for that fight so I am deferring to your knowledge of the creepy crawlers.
Deacon: I’m not reading any more of the little bastards on my latest scans, so that’s good.
Michele paused as Deacon and T'Fearne and Roop addressed the situation more. Her expertise in these creatures was a flat out zero and what she had learned thus far was that she was very under prepared to deal with these things. A larger arsenal of weapons was going to be on her wish list for the next encounter with these bots.
Winters/T'Fearne/Roop: Response
Deacon: =/\= Deacon to commander Kel =/\=
Kel: =/\= Kel here. =/\=
Michele watched as the Lieutenant unfolded his arms, letting his rifle swing free across his chest.
Deacon: =/\= We’re all wrapped up here, spiderbots were ejected. Want us to head to you? =/\=
Kel: =/\= Excellent work Lieutenant. If your team is up for it, you can begin sweeping the ship and getting patients to the triage area. I think Dr. Beck is on the verge of a breakthrough. =/\=
A wave of relief washed over Michele as the news came over the coms of a possible breakthrough. This mission had been one to test her for sure but not physically. A mental challenge in almost losing Jack and how that affected her. They had been in some crazy situations before but none had left him in front of her unconscious and facing death like this mission had.
Winters: ::looking around the group:: Looks like light at the end of the tunnel finally.
T'Fearne/Roop: Response
Deacon: =/\= Aye, Commander, we’ll join you. We’ll take the long way and do a sweep. Deacon out.
Kel: =/\= Good luck. Kel out. =/\=
Winters: Looks like round up time is here.
T'Fearne/Roop: Response
Deacon: Well, ya heard the man, let's skiddadle.
Winters: With pleasure.
T'Fearne/Roop: Response
Michele swung Jack's phaser rifle up and over her shoulder letting it land on her back where it seemed to magically affix itself to her EV suit. Looking around the corridor one last time, Michele let Deacon, followed by T'Fearne and Roop lead the way as she took up the 'Last Man' position in the group. Rounding up the survivors would not take long and Michele's focus now was getting back to the Ronin, and at Jack's side. There was much she wanted to say and even more she needed to think about.
