((Transporter Room 2, Deck 06, USS Ronin))
Wren: ::a little awkwardly:: Oh, no it’s… I didn’t do much during that mission, I’m sure it’s just a formality ::nervous laugh, before returning her attention to Shortrith:: Honestly, you did great too! I heard that you and Beck are talking about your next steps?
Shortrith: About dabbling in both medical and counselling? Yeah, I've got some shifts in sickbay to finesse certain skills - specifically finessing my surgical skills at the moment.
((OOC Wren doesn’t hear T’Fearne and Evinrude’s private moment))
Shortrith: Any idea what this mission's about? I've only heard about the mission specialists from the Goodall, but I haven't heard anything else.
Wren: I haven’t heard anything at all. I spoke to Dahl briefly, but he was completely lost too. Do you know what kind of specialists?
T’Fearne: Response
Evinrude: The sudden departure, the "specialists"...this all strikes me as Need To Know, you know?
Shortrith: I'm like eighty-five percent sure that the actual topic is classified, but our department heads will probably fill us in on what we need to know, right?
Evinrude: Undoubtedly. I've never known any of the senior officers to withhold critical information.
Wren: From what I heard Chip didn’t have a clue either…. I’m pretty sure Remy’s somewhere on the loose, maybe he’s recorded something?
T’Fearne: Response
Shortrith: Probably.
Wren: ::checking her PADD:: Oh, I should probably go to engineering to check in with the chief. Maybe he’ll fill us in then?
T’Fearne/Shortrith: Response
Evinrude: I'm not sure where I'll be supporting, but if anyone's departments need anything, just reach out. Operations has your back!
Wren: Much appreciated! I’ll see you guys later!
Shortrith/Evinrude/T'Fearne: Response
With that, she was running down the hall to the nearest lift, not even pausing to reach out as she saw a flash of silver, catching Remy in midair as he leapt from the nearest air vent. She wasn’t sure when exactly he’d started sneaking out of his enclosure to explore the ship, but provided he didn’t get underfoot, she didn’t see much of a problem with it.
Wren: ::genuinely pleased:: Hi, baby boy, looks like shore-leave’s over. ::letting him climb into her hair::
She stepped into the nearest lift, leg bouncing as she leaned against the wall, reading the few notes that they had to go on. Her eyebrow arched as she read that they'd done a mid-warp transport. oO I didn't even know we were allowed to try that? Oo After a few moments that felt like an eternity, the lift doors opened again, and she practically jumped out, running over to where Morgan stood at the pool table.
((Deck 14, Main Engineering, The Pool Table, USS Ronin))
Morgan: Have a good time on shore leave? Even if it was short?
Wren: Yes, lieutenant, though I was a little surprised by the sudden recall. I was sort of in the middle of something at the time.
Morgan: I completely understand. I was out on my private little beach, enjoying the sun and water. I almost wished I’d kept my comm badge back in the bungalow. I was drifting off to sleep when the damn thing went off.
Wren: ::trying to hide her concern:: Do you have any idea what’s going on? I’ve asked around, but no one seems really sure, and some people have some absolutely wild speculations. Apparently there’s an ensign in medical who's thinking that the Dominion war’s back on…
Morgan: Well, right now, Commander Tucker is in a briefing on the bridge. I’m sure we’ll hear soon, as the meeting is over, what’s going on. As long as it doesn’t have to do with saving the timeline or things like that, I’d be okay with it.
Delphina gave a nervous laugh, pushing her bangs out of her face as she faced the pool table, trying not to think about the possibilities going on in the meeting. If she’d been able to control her telepathy, she would have been able to know for sure what was happening, but, as usual, it was just a dull roar of noise with occasional words and phrases sticking out like barbs. And, personally, she didn’t think whoever was thinking the phrase ‘-his Assyria from a hole in the ground’ was thinking about the mission at hand.
Wren: It’s just easier to plan if we know what we’re getting into. I’ve set up a program on my PADD that runs hourly updates on any systems working under seventy percent so we can keep an eye on anything in the interim, but that’s all I’ve prepared thus far. Also, I heard we did a mid-warp transport? I didn’t know we could do that….
Delphina paused as she saw a stranger approaching. It wasn’t surprising, as she was still trying to learn the names and faces of everyone on board. However, she did sense something in Morgan’s emotions shift, and immediately distracted herself by running a system check on the transporters to ensure they hadn’t been damaged by their little mid-warp stunt.
Morgan: Lieutenant Cabrillo, come join us, as we wait to hear from the Chief, who’s in some sort of briefing at the moment.
Wren: ::minding her own business:: Hello! oO These two probably know each other pretty well. I really hope that I didn’t already meet this guy, because I’m being extremely rude right now if I did. Oo
Cabrillo: Response
Miller: Lieutenant, I’m Ensign Miller. ::he extended a hand:: But most just call me Chip.
Cabrillo: Response
Wren: ::Just deciding to go for it:: I’m Ensign Wren
Morgan: How was your leave, Cabrillo?
Delphina watched the two converse, though not too closely, and ran her program again. Realizing that there was a weakness in some of the gel-pack conduits, and knelt down nearby to readjust them. As she did so, she felt Remy peek out of her hair for a second, before nestling back in.
Wren: ::very softly:: It’s okay, hon, I got it.
Morgan/Cabrillo/Miller: Response
Wren: ::Poking her head back up:: I’m stunned that we did a mid-warp transport, that could have gone terribly if we weren’t all extremely careful. I can’t imagine what would be that urgent. Do either of you know who came aboard?
Morgan/Cabrillo/Miller: Response
That was a bit of a shock. She’d heard of the Amity outpost, of course, but borrowing their commanding officer seemed like a strange step. She didn’t know much about Rosek-Skyfire, except that she was the cmo of Amity, but she couldn’t help but wonder what could possibly be so important that they needed to borrow someone else’s commanding officer.
Wren: Do we know who the other specialist is? oO I hope I get to meet them at least. Even if they can’t tell me why they’re here, they should be interesting to talk to… Oo
Morgan/Cabrillo/Miller: Response
