((OOC: Hello. I’m taking advantage of this end-of-mission SIM to thank you for your welcome and your patience. It was a great first mission!))
((Reactor Dome, Moon Sigma, Ross 580 System))
The two teams on the ground were in dangerous situations. Commander Tucker’s team was heading toward the transporter room and was surrounded by Tholians. Lieutenant Shortrith’s team, meanwhile, was preparing the transport, and Kelor was battling the hatch in the floor. And it was not making things easy!
Kessler: Tholians approaching from above and below. Go, go....I have the rear. ::taping his coms:: =/= Shortrith, I hope you have that transporter working. We're about to have unwanted company and I can't set this explosive off in here without killing us too. =/=
Esot: =/= I am working on the final uplinks now. =/=
Shortrith: ::To Esot:: I believe in you.
oO There isn’t much time left! Oo
Zh'taan: This damn hatch must not have been used in quite some time, I can’t get it open!
Kelor was putting all his strength into opening the hatch, but to no avail.
Esot: There appears to be a portion of the hatch door that has bent and is holding it in place. Pulling at it appears to have made it worse.
Shortrith: Maybe if it's hit with a pulse of energy or something it'll come loose.
Zh'taan: You’re right! ::He pulled out his phaser, set it to maximum power, and aimed at the side of the hatch to try to widen the opening.:: That did it!
oO Great! Oo
Kelor could not help but step back, almost falling backward as the pressure released and the hatch finally opened.
Tucker: =/= Esot, Shortrith, we have personal pattern enhancers on, so if you want to beam us out, go right ahead, because we’re about to engage a group of what we think are Tholians. I think if we get closer to the topside, I can have the Sojourn beam us back.=/=
Evinrude: =/= It's worth it, but be aware...these pattern enhancers are going to make us stick out like a sore antenna. =/=
Kessler: Response
Shortrith: It should not be for long, though. We're heading home soon.
Kelor quickly moved toward the console.
Esot: =/= Understood. I am working to add the pattern enhancers to the transporter chain. If all goes well, we will first all arrive on the Anna Pavlova. It might be a little tight for a moment, but then you can reach the Sojourn. =/=
Evinrude: =/= New contacts...friendlies! I'm picking up the other away team! Not far ahead now. =/=
Esot: =/= Confirmed, we can see your team approaching now. =/=
Shortrith: ::to themself:: Come on…
Zh'taan: ::typing on the console:: =/= I am making sure the transporter’s timestamp is consistent, that should help us avoid errors related to chronitons. ::glances at his tricorder:: I also notice that the radiation has weakened. =/=
Esot: =/= I have transporter lock. I'll beam your team out first, Commander, then our team will follow shortly. =/=
Kelor smiled. The end of the mission on the planet was approaching, and both teams would soon be safely reunited with their shuttles.
Zh'taan: You can go ahead with your eyes closed, the radiation should not cause any problems.
Esot: =/= Energizing. =/=
Kelor watched the signatures of Tucker’s team shift and then fade, until they disappeared and reappeared at another position.
oO Excellent! Oo
Shortrith: ::Exhaling:: Let's go.
Esot: =/= Energizing for second team. =/=
Zh'taan: ::lets out a sigh of relief:: We are finally going home...
Then he felt a strange sensation in his stomach. He looked at his two colleagues, who were beginning to slowly disappear. He closed his eyes, already imagining himself back aboard the Ronin.
Shortrith: ::to themself:: Home we go.
He opened his eyes again and saw his two colleagues, along with three more senior officers whom he recognized as the team they had come to retrieve.
Esot: Let's get out of here. I'll send you over to the Sojourn.
Shortrith: It's good to have you with us.
Kelor gave them a smile before they disappeared once again. Now it was time to head back.
Shortrith: ::To Esot:: You ready?
Zh'taan: ::returns to the pilot station and begins the takeoff procedure:: I am taking the controls again.
Esot: Response
Shortrith: I'm ready to go home, how about you?
Zh'taan: Here we go.
Shortrith: Let's go.
Esot: Response
The Anna Pavlova lifted off toward the moon’s atmosphere. The three officers could see that the ships had changed position. Nevertheless, Kelor managed to carefully bring the shuttle back to the Ronin.
[Final scene for Kelor?]
