((OOC: Brian has very helpfully volunteered to write the doctor that Quentin will be visiting on the Blackwell, but we didn't get too deep into the backstory, so I can't wait to be surprised at what he brings to the table.))

((Sickbay Ward 5, Deck 16, USS Blackwell))

Finally, he'd received a summons from the medical bay on the Blackwell - he'd waited almost four whole days after requesting approval to head to the planet's surface so he could at least try to enjoy their time at Endicronimas V, but he had only gotten canned responses to each request informing him that he was in the queue and they would get to him as soon as they were able blah blah blah.

He'd tried playing the CMO card, but he suspected that might have just gotten him shunted even further back in the queue. The message requesting his presence on the Blackwell had been a bit nebulous about who he was supposed to be seeing, but they could be the ship's EMH, for all he cared, so long as he got to see somebody and find out what was taking so long for approval.

Quentin had opted to make himself look as official as possible, short of wearing dress whites - he had replicated a crisp, clean new uniform, shined his pips and combadge, and put on his lucky blue lab coat before heading to the transporter room, and (after some confusion when asking for directions to Sickbay and the computer mentioning there were at least three different variations and not exactly a main Sickbay) it had only been a short turbolift ride once he'd gotten to the Olympic-class medical ship before the doors to (the correct) Sickbay had cycled open.

Things were busy over there, which was no big surprise since it was a hospital ship and they were handling the remaining crew of the Compass Rose alongside the crew of the Ronin, but it all worked so smoothly. They also looked to have a bit of the more cutting-edge tech in medicine, including a few machines he simply had no idea what they were for. It was almost overwhelming.

One of the nurses paused in her duties, arching a brow at him curiously before moving to approach him, carrying a tray of medical tools.

Nurse: Can I help you, Commander…?

He shoved his hands into the pockets of his coat and offered her the most reassured smile he could - it didn't seem terribly convincing, if the look on her face told him anything.

Beck: Quentin Beck, Ronin's Chief Medical Officer. I just got a message that it was my turn to meet with… uh… whoever it is that can give me clearance to go to the planet's surface.

The nurse's eyes widened a little when he said his name before she nodded very slowly, chewing her lower lip as she glanced back over her shoulder at an open office door.

Nurse: Erm. Yes, you'll want to see our Chief Medical Officer. That's the office back there.

He arched a brow at her reaction, glancing over her shoulder before nodding.

Beck: I seeeee… thank you.

Pursing his lips, he picked his way through the busy Sickbay and approached the CMO's office, squinting a little at the nameplate, which was obscured. Clicking his tongue against the roof of his mouth, he stood just outside the open door but didn't allow his curiosity to get the best of him, instead thumbing the chime next to the door.

Blackheart CMO: Response

The voice sounded dreadfully familiar. Like one he hadn't heard for some time, but knew very well when he had heard it last. Leaning forward, he peeked through the door before actually stepping inside and clearing his throat.

Beck: Lieutenant Commander Quentin Beck, arriving as requested.

Blackheart CMO: Response

His brows lifted, hands balling further into fists inside of his coat.

Beck: You.
