((Shuttle Bay 1, Deck 9, USS Ronin))
The man seemed to make some sort of expression that Taj’el could not place. They had not expected to have met the chief of security. They looked at their bag wondering if they had made a mistake but then he seemed to continue the conversation and protocol.
Taj’el: Clarification: what area of space does this vessel traverse? Additionally, here is a list of the medications currently contained in the hypospray, should they be required, Lieutenant.
Kessler: ::accepting the PADD:: Thank you Lieutenant, or do you prefer Doctor?
Taj'el: Doctor is preferable.
Kessler: Very good Doctor. The Ronin's current assignment has us patrolling the Alpha Isle's. ::turning a gesturing:: If you'll accompany me, I have guest quarters arranged for you on Deck 04. We'll drop off your gear and then I am assuming you will want to see the ship? Maybe starting with Sickbay?
They did not yet possess a thorough familiarity with the region and were still learning how “different” the area in which the Thor operated was. It seemed likely that further study regarding Alpha Isle would be necessary during their time here.
Taj'el: That would be most agreeable. I thank you Lieutenant Kessler.
They noted him looking at them and met the glance looking up at the tall man.
Kessler: So how is the Thor doing these days?
Taj'el: That would depend on your definition of “how it is.” It had been functional and undamaged. It is curious, you speak as if you were familiar with it.
Kessler: Yes, I served aboard the Thor right out of the academy. Amazing ship and you have a strong command team leading her. ::entering a turbolift:: Deck Four. ::turning to Taj'el:: So what brings you to the Ronin Doctor?
Taj'el: You served on the Thor? It had been my understanding that the vessel had only recently been launched. Perhaps I had been mistaken. I too have started my Starfleet career on the Thor.
They entered behind him.
Taj’el: I had come to conduct research and to offer some medical assistance. However, it appeared that during the time it had taken me to arrive, your crew had already resolved much of whatever situation had occurred. I had not been provided with extensive details.
They pulled out a personal PADD and made some notes for themselves. They didn’t preserve themselves from getting lost but with a new ship they thought it be best to be safe and make note of where their room would be along where Sickbay was.
Kessler: response
Taj’el: Then, how long have you been surviving on the Ronin sir? This is a long journey unless the Thor was not in the Gamma Quadrant when you served.
They observed him discreetly for a moment. The Thor possessed a notable number of intelligence officers, as well as Naledi, who served as the Director of Strategic Operations. However, the vessel appeared to have fewer security officers present. As a result, Taj’el found themselves uncertain regarding the precise operational duties of a security chief aboard the ship. They hoped they were not proving troublesome for the lieutenant.
Kessler: response
They nodded thoughtfully as the differences regarding the vessel were explained. Taj’el had previously assumed that the ship had been newly commissioned and had always operated under Captain Promontory’s command.
They glanced down at their gloved hands, adjusting them slightly. They were still somewhat unaccustomed to wearing them and noted that they should exercise greater attention to where they were going.
Taj’el: If I may, may I inquire about what occurred on the Ronin? If the matter is confidential, I understand.
Kessler: response
