(( Corridors, Deck 1, Main Compartment, DS33 ))
Kiran: =/\= Hey, ex-oh, we’ve got an issue. The door is stuck, Any ideas?=/\=
He looked around, and saw a piece of Tholian exoskeleton that might do the trick, a part of metal that would have once been attached to a leg, with part of the mechanics around the knee still attached. It would work as an improvised hammer. He stuck the phaser in his belt, and picked up the piece.
Korras: Percussive maintenance.
Raga: =/\= Good, the last thing we need is the airlock door to be opened Chief. =/\=
Korras did not catch the commander’s comment, as another Tholian exploded. He looked at Kiran.
Korras: Cover me?
Kiran: Response
The rate of fire had lessened enough by now that it was doable to squeeze through the half opened door. He quickly aimed the improvised hammer/maul at the dent, and slammed it into the door. After two repeats, the dent had been pushed out enough that the door screeched open, metal grinding against metal.
Wasting no time in the open, he dashed out again. He felt a burning sensation as a bolt of energy nearly missed him, just barely clipping his shoulder. He grimaced as he got back into cover, briefly testing his arm. Everything still seemed to work, and he was not out yet.
Korras: We are ready.
Raga: =/\= Hold up. If you can seal that airlock and make it so they can’t open it without an explosive. We can’t risk decompressing the whole deck just on the off chance we can shove some of them out of it. =/\=
Korras frowned, he did not expect that door to ever close again. He was not familiar enough with the configuration of the station to come up with a solution right away.
Korras: Well, there goes that plan. Do you have any idea how to block it off? Maybe collapse the ceiling?
Kiran: Response
Valo: =/\= I don’t think their goal is as straightforward as we thought. They are….looking for something? No. They already found something. =/\=
Raga: =/\= Found what? =/\=
The discussion came over the commline as Korras kept firing at the Alliance forces. He managed to score a hit on a critical part of a Tholian, who’s explosion set of the grenades it was carrying. They were getting a bit too close for comfort now, as he had to duck back around the bulkhead from the blast.
Kiran/T’Fearne: Response
Valo: =/\= Whatever it is, they seem satisfied. Everything now might just be exit strategy. ::He adopted snarl.:: Something we can help with. =/\=
Raga: =/\= Agreed, but I worry about what follows their exit strategy. =/\=
Korras: =/\= By the way they are fighting, it would seem their exit strategy is straight through us. We might be able to use that to our advantage, and trap them in even more of a crossfire. =/\=
Kiran/T’Fearne: Response
Osiris: =/\= Osiris to Raga and Ops! We need to seal the emergency bulkheads now! =/\=
Raga: =/\= Raga here, what’s wrong Palen? =/\=
Stergis: =/\= Response =/\=
Osiris: =/\= I managed to slip down to deck three to hunt them from behind and found three of the crew hiding in the tubes. The Alliance has a quantum torpedo on Deck three, directly below your position. An engineer and medic ran off to try and do something about it. I’m cut off from them, but it’s set to overload. We only got a brief scan but it’s maximum yield. =/\=
Korras: 'Igh ((Be cursed))
A quantum torpedo exploding inside the station would turn a bad day even worse.
Raga: =/\= Get out of there Palen, that’s an order. If that thing blows I don’t want anyone on that deck. Can you get to them?
Stergis: =/\= Response =/\=
Osiris: =/\= I’ll try. =/\=
He did the only thing he could think of right now, and he kept firing at Alliance troopers. If they were to go, he would make sure to take as many of them with him as possible.
Kiran/T’Fearne: Response
Raga: =/\= Chief, get back here with Korras. If that thing blows I don’t want either of you near the external bulkheads. Everyone, fall back behind the nearest emergency bulkheads before they drop. =/\=
They began to fall back, managing to get past a few bulkheads, before a deep THWUMP went through the deck. The station shook even more violently then the Narendra did when she sheared through the Enterprise’ nacelle, something he did not think possible. One moment, they were slammed into the ceiling of the deck, before gravity kicked in again, and both he and Kiran fell down amongst secondary explosions, electric wiring sparking, and a lot of debris.
He saw a deck passing by, and managed to grab a deck strut. In a reflex, he managed to grab the back of the NCO’s uniform as he came down next to him. He would not be able to hold on long to him, but it could slow him down enough to let him secure himself.
Korras: grab something, quick!
Kiran: Response
Raga: =/\= Raga…to all teams. Report. Who’s still with us? =/\=
He managed to climb up to the deck. He could see the ceiling of deck one the deck above him, which would put him on deck two. Fortunately, except for some more scrapes, he seemed to be in one piece. His uniform was another matter, it had definitely seen better days. The phaser he had lost, but somehow his Bat’leth was still on his back. He took it out, and held it down for Kiran to pull him up with.
Korras: =/\= Korras here. I am still here. =/\=
Kiran/T’Fearne/Valo: Response
Raga: =/\= Good…does anyone have eyes on the enemy? =/\=
He took a look through what was left of the hallway he was in. Nothing.
Korras: =/\=Negative. =/\=
Kiran/T’Fearne/Valo: Response
It took a moment for the sounds of phaser and disruptor fire to return. But when it did, it seemed to be far more phaser fire then before, which was quickly explained with the next communication.
Phi Lead: =/\= Yes, they’re pushing again!....wait…Marines!! The Excal sent Marines! I swear I’m going to kiss someone after this. =/\=
Raga: =/\= Good, they need to do something to earn drinks later. Hold positions around the Embassy and Ops. The Marines can mop up what’s left. ::He coughed and added with a slightly less raspy tone:: Well done. =/\=
Valo: Is it finally over?
That question was heard through the commline. Was it? Except for what deck he was on, Korras had no idea where he was, or if there were any alliance forces nearby. He turned to Kiran.
Korras: Do you have any better idea then guarding the nearest intersection and wait for the marines to do some work?
Kiran/T’Fearne: Response
A new voice came over the comm.
Stergis: =/\= Attention Lattice Alliance Forces, this is Commander Agatha Stergis, the commanding officer of this station. Your fleet has abandoned you and is currently in full retreat. You have no reinforcements or means of escape. No one else has to die here today. You are ordered to surrender and lay down your weapons. Surrender and you will not be harmed. Attack any of our positions or offer resistance of any kind and I promise you will be. This is our station. Thirty-Three Stands. You have two minutes to decide. Stergis out. =/\=
As cheering sounded through the hollowed out space station, Korras grinned. It seemed it was, in fact, over.
Korras: ::still grinning, at Kiran:: It was an honor to fight at you side.
Kiran: Response?
