((Sickbay, Deck 10 USS Ronin))
Avae: Oooooooooh!! I know! I heard someone saw Rox with Marty at one of those fancy restaurants they had. ::the Antosians’ eyes lit up like Hobus just happened a second time:: ROX GOT SOME TUCKER!
Rox's jaw nearly fell open. If her ears were not already burning, they were burning even more now and Rox was certain her cheeks were turning rosy. Did they know already? Was some weirdo following them on their date. Maybe TK?
Rox: Wyla! Get your mind out of the gutter!
De La Croix: De La Croix: By all means dear put it right back in there. I'm sure dear Roxanne comported herself as a lady should...probably. Maybe. Possibly.
Avae: Food! I meant food of course. ::giggling:: Come on Rox, we all know just going on a date isn’t enough to put a girl in that good of a mood. ::her giggling subsided and she gave Rox a doey look:: Unlessssss, you really like who you went on a date with. Spill. It. Girl.
Rox: What are we freshmen at the academy? We can talk about this later we have work to do.
De La Croix: You know dear, since I'm spending a bit of time here I've been brushing up on my Starfleet legalese and I happened upon the most delightful protocol - the 'Boimler Effect.' It very explicitly states that the concept of...I believe it's 'buffer time,' is not only encouraged...it's mandated. We are to perform our duties in the way that makes the most sense to us...and I believe Nurse Avae and I are more than capable of re-calibrating a biobed or two in the ample time allotted.
Rox took two steps toward ward C and what she hoped was an escape from the pair, but it was not to be so.
Avae: I can prep wards in my sleep, stop trying to change the subject Rox. ::she giggled:: I pry because I care.
Rox: ::shaking her head:: Fine. Fine you harpies.
Rox did her best to keep her complexion pale and the corners of her mouth even, not turned upward. It was very difficult.
Rox: Marty and I went down to the resort for dinner. We got recalled before dinner was over, but we made the most of the facility before we beamed back to the ship.
De La Croix: Made the most of it, did you? I assume you mean the aquatic center...or perhaps the zero g Jacuzzi?
Rox: ::raising her hands:: I'm not spelling it out for you.
De La Croix: Good girl...a Lady never tells.
Avae: That…explains a lot about Jenta. She’s told me a…..nevermind.
She gave the pair a stern look.
Rox: Marty is a great guy. Don't do anything to spoil this for me.
De La Croix: My dear girl, why would we do something so base? You're an intelligent young woman and I assume this...::she rolled the name around in her mouth like an unpleasant taste::...Martin...is intelligent enough to know that if he doesn't treat you well, you can make their unexpected passing look like a very plausible medical emergency.
Thess offered a sly wink. Rox felt flattered that Thess might actually murder someone that hurt her. It was very sweet and she wondered if she should mention it to Marty in advance.
Avae: Oh, come on Rox. You think either of us would do that? Well, obviously you did just now, but we wouldn’t do that. I’m just happy for you!
Rox: Why don't you two put yourselves out there? I hear ::serious tone:: Commander Kel ::regular voice:: is lonely and desperate.
De La Croix: He does seem the competent sort but the blue clashes with my eyes dreadfully. That Captain of yours is more beard than man, the scrumptious looking First Officer though...hmm, yes...pretty but a bit dense...he might be perfect.
Avae: Thess!! You do know he’s already got a partner and kids too!
Rox: I think Commander Raga is beyond temptation. Not to mention the guard owl that goes with him everywhere.
De La Croix: Fine fine I do suppose that would be...impolite, if nothing else. I don't especially like birds anyway. ine then...why don't you tell me more about this Martin while we do our vital..ish work?
Avae: I haven’t really talked with him much, but he’s kept us flying all this time and seems to be able to keep up with the Captain and XO’s humor. Most times. He seems nice, Rox. And you two make a cute couple. ::she grinned:: Now that I think about it, he’s definitely a hell of an engineer. He can even fix Rox’s mood.
Even Rox had to chuckle at this observation. She would have to relate all of this to Marty later. Maybe they could somehow manage dessert this time.
Rox: Very funny. No I think it would be much more interesting to hear about one of Duchess De La Croix's, no doubt, numerous conquests.
Thess seemed positively delighted that someone had asked.
De La Croix: Well if you must know there was this rather ravishing Elected One I met during a medical conference on Angel One...that was a delightful few months but alas, she had her planet to run and I had just become Chief Surgeon of Division Fourteen…
oO Here we go. Oo
