Lt. Cmdr. V'Len Kel - take Arms against a Sea of troubles

=/\= Acting CO's log Stardate 240301.11.  I have talked to Rox and she has assured me that she has not snapped her fingers, tapped her nose, clicked her heals or otherwise used her powers.  She assures me she has felt none of the usual sensations associated with her powers.  I'm forced to conclude that the destruction of the Kurosawa and the death of Captain Niac and Commander Raga are events that are all too real.

The Ronin has managed to recover some wreckage including a damaged data core.  I've asked Commander Tucker to begin analyzing the wreckage along with Chief Solana, and Lieutenants Nemes and Evinrude. The data core is damaged, but I've asked Ensign Esot, Chief Solana, Lieutenant  T'Fearne and Commander Dekas to see what they can derive from whatever might be present.  I've asked Jack to join me and Commander O'Connor on the bridge along with Lieutenant Shortith and Ensign Wren.  With Beck away Lt. Shortith has graciously agreed to act as my chief medical officer.  

I have no idea what to do.  Do we leave the system?  Do we stay?  Do we cause whatever disaster seems to have befallen Niac, Raga and perhaps the entire Federation? Or do we fail to stop it?  All I can think to do right now is get as much information as possible and then hope.  =/\=

V'Len ended the log and took a long deep breath.  Of course, it was too much to ask for a quite exploratory cruise on the Ronin.  Now he would need to lead the crew through whatever this was and it's wasn't a holodeck.  This was as real as his real life got.  He stood up and headed to the bridge.  Like it or not, he was going to rise to the occasion.

V'Len furrowed his brow.  Strangely the tension of the situation was causing the Kel symbiote to step in more and he found himself accessing Xam Kel's memories of the many crisis he'd experienced on the Exeter.   He looked across the bridge to meet Jack's eyes.

Kel:  Jack, are we alone in this system?

Kessler:  Response

V'Len nodded.

Kel:  Ok.  Mr. O'Connor, Mr. Kessler keep scanning.  We need to know every particle floating around out there.  Anything that could give us a clue as to what's going on.  ::Turning::  Ensign Wren see what you can do to boost our sensor strengh.

Kessler/O'Connor/Wren: Response

Kel: You can pull power from the auxillary systems if you need to but don't take down any major systems without checking first.  

Kessler/O'Connor/Wren: Response

V'Len turned to Dr. Shortith who was at one of the auxiliary stations.  He walked up next to her and pulled up a frozen from of Niac and Raga in the Kurosawa.  The sight of the badly injured officers made V'Len wince.  He pointed.

Kel:  Shortith, look here on Karrod's neck and Toryn's shoulder.  There's some kind of injury, but it seems partially healed.  Are those burns?  Dermal irritation of some kind?

Shortith: Response

Kel:  We need information in order to formulate a plan so I'm willing to look at any minute details for a hint as to what to do.

Wren/Shortith/Kessler/O'Connor: Response

Kel:  We have one goal.  Get Niac and Raga back and potentially save the Federation.
