T’Fearne strode into the warm, quiet hum of Sickbay and paused just inside the doors, a PADD with a “return to full duties” request clasped neatly behind her back. Her posture was immaculate, despite the faint weariness she refused to acknowledge. Light duty had been… necessary, but grating. She had no intention of remaining restricted a moment longer than required.
A familiar voice drifted from a corner of sickbay.
Beck: Response
T’Fearne stepped forward, one brow lifting.
T’Fearne: Avoidance was not my intention, Doctor. I was merely waiting for the appropriate moment to announce myself.
Dr Beck appeared, a tricorder already in hand. His expression—T’Fearne thought—was possibly a mixture of amusement and stubborn professionalism. A look doctors seemed to reserve for difficult patients, and T’Fearne suspected she was about to be counted among them.
Beck: Response
T’Fearne extended the PADD between them with precise formality.
T’Fearne: To request clearance from light duty. My symptoms from the allergic reaction to the Treatment Seventeen inoculation have resolved. I am physically capable of resuming full operational responsibilities, and Security is currently short-staffed with so many officers rotating out for shore leave. My biology requires less sleep, and I can work double or triple shifts with no strenuous tax on my faculties. It is logical and beneficial to the ship to return me to full duty.
Beck: Response
T’Fearne’s dark eyes narrowed slightly. She came close to pointing an accusatory finger at Beck—then caught herself and folded her hands neatly behind her back again.
T’Fearne: I disagree, it’s not overworking; I’m merely optimising productivity. ::deflecting:: Besides, you think I am a workaholic? Forgive me, Doctor, but aren’t you supposed to be on Risa or something?
