((Salt Caves, Endicronimas V))

Dohna:  Well I wouldn't say no to some hasprit.  What about you Xira?  Is hasprit a comfort food for you as well?

Akani: Yeah… Though I'll be honest, the replicated stuff doesn't come close at all to the stuff my parents made on Bajor.

oO Stars, I miss home. Oo

Holley: Response

oO How long has it been since I was last on Bajor? Oo

Dom: I could do with some hot polską herbatę i ciasteczka. ::slipping into polish:: The rum on an empty stomach might’ve been a mistake.

Dohna:  My father likes it extra spicy.  I can't even eat it when my grandmother makes it.

Xira turned to T'Alia, curious.

Akani: H-How'd she make it? ::to Dom:: I'm up for getting food if you guys want to as well.

Dom: ::raising the flask:: Na zdrowie. Let's go then. I would like to try your culture's food, if we can find somewhere that serves it.

Dohna: It's not for the faint of heart.  ::looking at Xira::  I think she may have used Terran Cayanne.

Akani: It'll be nice to share food with people who are willing to try it.

Dom: You can tell me more about the idea to join the Ronin. I’m not convinced yet, but I'm not saying no either. Just have a few personnel issues to consider. Do you think the Rosie will be decommissioned after all this? The pech—uh, the bad luck clings to her.

Akani: I… Don't know if there's much else to say, really.

Dohna: Perhaps they'll try to salvage some of the components.

Holley: Response

Akani: I… Yeah, I suppose so…

Dom: I have enough from Rosie. The souvenirs will just make me sad because of how it ended. The memories were good until they weren’t, and I’d rather move on.

Holley: Response

Dohna:  I wonder how long it will take for Starfleet to get a full picture of what happened.  Even now I'm sure I'm only seeing about half the picture.

Akani: Will you guys ever tell the people from home about all that happened? Like, what really happened?

Dohna:  I'm honestly not sure.  I usually tell my parents everything ::apprehensive::  but this ::pause:: It's not a place I want to take them.

oO Agreed. Oo

Dom: How could they understand? Unless they were there? ::shrugging:: I don’t have many close family members. I’ll tell my babcia, of course; she is a jasnowidzka—has the sight—so she probably already knows something happened to me.

Holley: Response

Akani: Honestly, I… I can't bear to tell my family what happened. It's… ::pauses walking and turns back to the group:: They won't understand like you do.

oO My sister would probably kill me if she figured out what happened. Oo

Dohna:  The humans have "support groups" for when people encounter a common struggle.  Perhaps that is what we are

oO Maybe I'm not alone. I have these people here, listening. Oo

Dom: I like the sound of that. Sirs, any time you need something fixed or broken, any time you’re in the market for libations, a friendly game chance, or you just need to talk, you can count on me. Wherever we end up in the galaxy, on the Ronin or elsewhere, if you need me, I’ll come, because of Rosie.

Holley: Response

As the group walked, a cavern entrance entered Xira's field of view. Sunlight filtered through, a significant contrast to the darkness of the cave a few seconds ago.

Dohna:  Wow, and I thought the cave was nice.

Akani: This is beautiful.

Holley: Response

Dom: Here you go, Lieutenant. ::handing over a large frond stem:: And if you liked the Salt Caves, then you should really see the pool.

Dohna:  Perhaps those huts have something to offer?

Akani: Time to go have a look, I'd say.

Holley: Response

Dom: Right behind you.
