Evinrude: Seems like--wait. ::He narrowed his eyes in confusion.:: What?

Marty noticed Evinrude and looked over his shoulder, then at his tricorder. Marty had with him the brand-new padds, which Gunny was able to get enough of for the Engineering and Science departments, and the initial dozen for the medical staff, so they didn’t feel left out. The TR-600’s were beautiful and worked faster and better than the older models.

Tucker: Let's see how this works..::key commands into padd:: yeah, even this one, which is top of the line, is fritzing out,t and it’s saying some of the debris is here, and other that’s here, but it can’t confirm that it’s actually here.

He ran a hand over his neck; things were not adding up, and there were more questions than answers It sounds cliché, but that’s where they were..

oO Keep your cool ya idjit, it’s not going to happen instantly, don’t rush it Oo

Marty took a deep breath to center himself and let it out slowly. Major Singh’s voice brought Marty back to the flight deck and the matter at hand. It was a mess, well that was an understatement. Chard bits and bobbles, part of the warp core, one big painful puzzle.

Singh: To me, this looks like part of one of the starboard RCS assemblies...but the tricorder can't make sense of it. A warp core breach wouldn't do...this. Not by itself.

Nemes: No, the core breach of a shuttle or yacht could not affect our tricorders or the material in such a way. ::beat:: And the link to the arrays is also working perfectly.

Evinrude: Take a look at this. ::He paced over towards the group, closing their scattered formation into a semicircle.:: I've got a logged scan of that piece of manifold over there, here's the data. ::He pushed the scan to the tricorders of the other officers, and it appeared on their screen identical to his.:: Normal readings, for debris exposed to an external explosion, right? Now look at this... ::He pushed the second
scan to their devices.::

Maty looked down at his padd and looked at the data from the scanned debris. It was funky to be sure, and these were brand new, so at least they know it's not the tricorder itself. Though he did pound the side of it, for good measure.

Tucker: It might be a good idea to see what internal sensors say. If they’re just as unstable, I want to deploy a containment field; that’s all we need is something that’s going to change the composition of things. As crazy as that sounds.

Nemes: A natural ion or plasma storm can interfere with the sensors, but it does not alter the physical properties or composition of materials, so our tricorders or sensors would still be able to make sense of the data. At least, I am not aware of any such phenomenon. Unless... unless the yacht was exposed to some other phenomenon that we do not yet know. But that is pure speculation. ::looking up, realising she was talking too much: Sorry, I'm just thinking out loud.

Tucker: Don’t be sorry, Lieutenant, I’m open to any and all theories, so speak up if you’ve got something.

Singh: Response

Marty walked over to the nearest wall console and started running his hands over it like a pianist as he switched through what data they had collected, he needed to tap into the Ronin’s internal sensor grid and see if it was still affecting things.

Evinrude: We need to find that data recorder, this "black box". If it can confirm multiple sets of readings, like our scanners here...I think chronitons is a solid guess. ::He sighed, and raised a hand to rub at his beard.::

Tess was right, they needed the flight recorder, which might answer some questions, but that’s if it’s intact. But it might also raise more questions.

Nemes: Shouldn't a black box send out a location signal in such a case, so that it is easier to find?

Tucker: According to the Major here, the transponder hasn’t engaged, or it was broken.

Singh: Response

Marty turned to see Tess, who looked like he swallowed something unpleasant before addressing the Major.

Evinrude: Could they have removed the data recorder...perhaps to hide information from adversaries...or from us? Would the Kurosawa have continued to function without it?

Tucker: ::turning to Tess, crossing his arms across his chest:: Oh, it would be fine without it, and it can be disabled. It’s just a royal pain in the ass to do so. It’s tucked back in behind an EPS conduit near the warp core. You have to remove the conduit to access it.

Nemes/Singh: Response

Marty went back to work, adjusting and aligning the internal sensor grid, to see if the wreckage was throwing everything off or if it was just some weird glitch in the tricorders. He tyed in a couple of commands and brought some of the grid to bear on the wreckage itself.

Evinrude: Understood. I'd like to keep putting together a complete picture of the wreck...or, multiple pictures, as it were. We'll have to sort through which pieces of the puzzle belong to the different sets of readings we're getting.

Tucker: I’m about bring the internal sensors online. I am also passing the data through to Astrophysics. If we are dealing with a spatial phenomenon, I want smarter minds than I to get a look at it.

Evinrude/Nemes/Singh: Response

Marty brought the sensors online and swept the wreckage. The Ronin’s computer couldn’t seem to make heads or tails of it, and was this just focused on the wreckage, or was it messing with everything?

Tucker:  =/\= Tucker to Kel, are ya’ll have issue with the sensors? I’m having issues with the internal sensors, not to mention tricorders..=/\=

Kel: =/\= Response =/\=

Tucker: =/\= Well, that’s not good…Okay, we’ll get back to it and give you some answers when we get some. Tucker, out. =/\=

This issue was shipwide: sensors on the fritz. The items you can see are physically present, but the computer thinks they may not be, which is causing the main computer to get twitchy.

Evinrude/Nemes/Singh: Response

Tucker: Okay, so it’s not just us. That still doesn’t answer any questions.

Marty brought his tricorder up to run some calculations; it was easier and really declined the wall consoles. On a random thought, he brought up the last senor sweep from the bridge. They had launched three probes; one vanished from the sensors, and none were visible. Marty paused and ran a hand through his red beard. He loved a puzzle, but this was a bit much.

Evinrude/Nemes/Singh: Response

Tucker: Let’s not get down on ourselves yet; we know what we’re dealing with is at least affecting every sensor aboard the Ronin. We cannot ignore the Chroniton particles present. ::turning to Nemes:: Lieutenant, can you figure out if this wreckage is even ours? Get an idea of when it was built by scanning the hull you can…

Evinrude/Nemes/Singh: Response
