Raga: Everyone has that reaction. ::he sighed:: My people have their reasons. And I’m here, and happy. If you’re that curious I can explain more though that’s a conversation for another time. ::to Kel:: Changing subjects, I don’t suppose you’ve heard anything back from the Constitution about that prosthetic for Sylara?

Zh'taan: It seems to me that the Constitution discovered an uncharted planet in the Rigar Nebula. The planet Syraya, I believe.

Raga: Correct.

Toryn regularly read through the reports of other ships and installations in the fleet whenever they popped up on FNS. And being XO meant he was also privy to many of the security and tactical notices throughout the Federation.

V'Len smiled at Zh'taan.

Kel: You're a step ahead of me if you're up on the Connie's mission reports. I'm trying to get everything collated from the Ronin's last mission.

Zh'taan: It seems to me that this planet is surrounded by a nebula, which could very well be a stellar nursery.

Kel: ::chuckling and looking at Raga:: Have we been in a nice peaceful nebula? Ever?

Raga: Not as far as I recall. Though, to be fair, even the Constitution had a brief conflict in said nebula due to a misunderstanding.

Knight: Are any of you musically inclined?

Toryn smirked when the doctor straightened up at the question.

Kel: ::excitedly:: Indeed, yes. I had a previous host who was a musician. I play guitar. I like to get out and give a little show every now and again.

Zh'taan: I have never known how to play any instrument, unfortunately I did not grow up surrounded by artists.

Raga: While I am far from calling myself a musician I do play drums. What about you?

Toryn was sure it was of absolutely no surprise to anyone on board that their XO, like their captain, was skilled at percussion.

Knight: I play a few, and sing a bit. I prefer guitar, but piano is my specialty. At a young age, Kerelians are encouraged to find their way into the arts and Kerelian culture.

Kel: I find the guitar playing helps balance out the scientific side of my brain.

Raga: There’s something soothing about the rhythm and tones of a big drum. And back home, some instruments like horns are dangerous. ::he looked towards Knight:: I take it at least one of your parents is also musically inclined?

Knight: Yeah, my Dad is a scientist, and my dear mother is out on tour, which seems like the entire time I’ve been alive. ::nervous chuckle::

Kel: Must be tough. Most of my family is back on my homeworlds. Jack Kessler grew up in Starfleet, you should have a support group.

Toryn sipped from his spiced tea. All of his Haemachuo family were back on the homeworld. He missed them greatly. While he was closer to them than his blood relations, Toryn was blessed by the Great Mountain to have his mate Ishkabella and their kids on board with him.

Raga: Same. Though my mate and kids are on board the Ronin. For my people, our blood relations aren’t as close to us as those we grow up with.

Kel: My brother Kos is out in the islands somewhere. He's Andorian, a freighter captain.

Zh'taan: If he commands a ship, why didn’t he join Starfleet?

Raga: Not everyone feels the call to do what we do. There’s a lot of sacrifice and adversity in being in Starfleet that is not for everyone. And that’s okay. Some people would rather live their lives as musicians, or merchants, builders or scientists. Without the regimented nature of Starfleet or the risk that we inherently run towards.

Knight/Any: Response

Kel: He's a very old school Andorian. We're both clan Reiji, very traditional. What about you Kelor? Do you have deep clan ancestry back to the days of the Empire?

Zh'taan: ::takes on a surprised expression:: Clan Reiji? I have very rarely encountered other Andorians from that clan. As for me, I come from the Omtala clan, from a military family. My family, especially my Thaan, is also very traditional. ::His gaze instinctively drifted toward one of the lounge’s windows, searching for Andor among the stars.::

Toryn listened to them intently. Given the number of Trill on the ship and in the fleet it was still a surprise he didn’t know more about their species.

Knight/Any: Response

Kel: What about you Raga? Any royal blood in those veins?

Toryn looked up from his mug at Kel, and noted the gazes on him. He smirked, but shook his head.

Raga: We’ve never had royalty, so no. The closest thing I suppose is not something I’d want.
