((Sickbay, Deck 10, USS Ronin))

Sickbay was busy on all sides.  Every medical technician, nurse, doctor, hologram and Exocomp available was working to care for the refugees from the Hab and Lid modules on the lunar surface below.  Hyronalyn and lectrazine were going fast and their effect was mixed.  Cellular regeneration fields were doing the best they could to keep the radiation damage at bay in the most severe cases.

In the middle of it all, the ships most knowledgeable strumpet was doing her best to keep up while at the same time rehearsing her report to the ships HR department.  She was even beginning to wonder about using Felicium.  Narcotic though it was, it would spare the worst patients from the extreme pain of their DNA being unwound and turned against them.  She would need to discuss the idea with Avae and probably Dr. De La Crap and so Rox was now stalking through sickbay looking for one or both of her marks.  To her surprise, she found them gathered around a single biobed occupied by what seemed to be a very juvenile Commander O'Connor, apparently in some sort of distress.

De la Croix:  You're quite alright...young man.  No need to cause a fuss, we've had more than enough of that in here today.

Rox: ::sarcastically to La Croix::  Sorry all these injured people are bringing you down, Doctor.

O'Connor, younger than Rox remembered seemed a bit confused or maybe embarrassed.

O’Connor:  Umm, well. I just…it’s…ummm

Avae: You look flushed. And your heart rate is elevated.

Rox glanced at the monitor and then back at Ian

De la Croix:  And your antenna are standing on end.  You probably don't want to strain one of those just now.

Rox: ::apologetically::  I have that effect on antennas, sorry.

O’Connor:  whoah, um. Can you guys just give me a minute?...and maybe a blanket?

Avae: Well I think that pretty much confirms that our helmsman was de-aged like some of the others. I’d guess about fifteen or sixteen years old comparatively.

De la Croix:  Indeed...and assuming it's the same thing that affected our other patients, we should be able to resolve it in fairly short order.  But you will need to stay in Sickbay for the time being while we do quite a number of scans.

Rox: ::smiling::  And we're going to need to talk about a curfew.

Rox couldn't help but feel the situation was slightly absurd.  It seemed all of O'Connor's faculties were intact, he was merely shorter and perhaps more hormonal.  There would also be the questions of facial blemishes if the situation persisted.  Still there was little need to keep him here.

O’Connor: Wait, if this is affecting my emotions and hormones like this, what’s this doing to our 12 year old Vulcan/Betazoid Security Officer? Is T’Fearne ok?

Avae: ::She shrugged slightly:: She did show similar signs, but being part Vulcan she’s better equipped to deal with the upswing of emotions. I think she’s on the bridge.

De la Croix:  Yes well leave it to a woman to hold herself together while the rest of them go to pieces over something so trivial.

Rox: ::nodding at La Croix:: Story of the galaxy.

O’Connor: She’s on the bridge? ::coincidently he felt the ship shimmy a bit as if they’d just made an evasive maneuver:: I’d better make sure she’s ok then.

O'Connor was suddenly in motion Rox saw him only as a blur.

Avae: That’s it. From now on, when he’s in Sickbay we’re using restraining fields. I don’t care if he comes in for a splinter in his pinkie. That’s twice he’s gone off like that without being cleared.

De La Croix:  You come back here right this instant....oh what's the use?  It's like the people on this ship enjoy being medical oddities.

Try as they might, neither Wyla or La Croix could capture O'Connor and he was soon on his way.

Rox: Boy he's spry for a green guy.

Wyla still seemed concerned, and rightly so.

Avae: I’m hoping that whatever the rest of the crew is doing about that out of control whatever it is, will sort out the aging issues among our patients. I don’t think any of us want to have to deal with a hormonal helmsman. And I don’t think they allow blankets on the bridge. ::she grinned at Rox:: We should make a calendar.

Rox chuckled at the thought of "nap time" on the bridge.  Papa Kel reading a story while the young crew members curled up on carpet squares.  She found the idea mildly amusing, but apparently their guest found it much funnier.  She was doubled over and Rox wondered if she might topple to the ground.

De La Croix:  ...and those little green cheeks....I can't...oh...oh I can't remember the last time I laughed like that.  Thank you Nurse...both of you.  You've done...adequate work today.

Rox: Wow.  Never thought I'd be good enough to land in adequate strumpet territory.

She hoped Avae might follow up on the remark, but she, as ever, was worried about the people they  were trying to help.

Avae: How are the others?

De la Croix:  Most are resting...some more comfortably than others.  I believe our efforts have been fruitful...assuming the ship survives the next few hours, these people should as well.

Rox:  Some of them are having significant pain.  Conventional analgesics are not helping in all cases.

Rox noted a Bajoran man standing in the doorway.  She grabbed a tricorder and walked toward the man.

Rox: Sir.  My name is Roxanne, are you alright.

Kangar: Response

Rox opened her tricorder and began to help the man toward the biobed Ian had recently occupied.  Avae and La Croix were looking at the status board, no doubt trying to plan some kind of strategy.

Avae: I think we might be having more guests soon.

De la Croix:  Not here we won't, we won't be able to free up any of theses beds for at least an hour.  Advise them to head to ward C and I'll meet them there...I think I can leave you two in charge of this lot...and if that plucky little Jem'Hadar ever wanders back in do make sure to put a bowl and a treat out for them.

Rox eased the man onto the bed.

Rox: Looks like you decided to have all your X-rays all at once.  Hold on.

Avae/Kangar: Response

Rox hurried to grab a hypo and glanced at La Croix who was hurrying out of the room.  Rox felt relieved that she was gone.

Rox: ::pressing the hypo to Kangar's neck::  This will help and make you more comfortable.

Avae/Kangar: Response

Rox:  I'm still assessing.  Radiation exposure, obviously, but there may be something else going on.

Avae/Kangar: Response
