((Sickbay Complex, Deck 10, USS Ronin))

As soon as Rurat'dari entred, they were swarmed by a medic. She rolled her eyes and tried to push him away.

Not too long after that, she walked right into a human that seemed to act like she was better than everyone else. The hubris was emanating off her.

Rurat'dari: Who are you?

The human shook her head and rolled her eyes elaborately.

De La Croix: The person whose carpet you're making a mess of.  Now go sit on that biobed and wait your turn if you expect any help.

'dari rolled her eyes.

Rurat'dari: ::lying:: I don't need your help.

From the pocket of her lab coat she produced a medical tricorder and performed a quick scan.  The results were unsurprising.

De La Croix: Burns...contusions...blunt force trauma...oh yes and enough radiation exposure to brighten a small star.  Yes you clearly don't need any help from me.  Just do me a favor and try not to leave too many stains on the biobed when you die or someone will have to clean it up.  A perfect job for Nurse Queen, in point of fact.  Now where has that addled strumpet wandered off to now....

oO Oh right. I forgot about that. Oo

Rurat'dari: So?

The doctor waved her hand dismissively and began moving to another patient. Defiantly, Rurat'dari stood firm, arms folded.

De La Croix: Oh are you still here...and alive?  If you'd like to stay that way for more than an hour you should do as I say.  If not, I've got more important things to do.

'dari watched her judgementally for a while before hearing a bark of laughter. She didn't have to turn her head to know it was Kangar.

Kangar: While it’s fascinating to watch this one-up arrogance contest. Can you do your job and heal my radiation burns and you tell us what the hell you screwed up so bad down there that made this all happen?

oO In my defence, I was following orders. As if you can talk. Oo

De La Croix:  Well to understand that we'd have to go back several weeks to when I took a wager with a mustachioed buffoon and long story short...now you're my problem.  One of several.  Now lay still or I promise you the next time I sedate you you'll wake up with an entirely novel assortment of limbs.

Rurat'dari saw the doctor glare at her, indicating the free bed things. She slumped down on to one of them.

Rurat’dari: I was following orders! I needed to get progress made!

Kangar: You know what, never mind. Just leave me alone.

oO Yeah right, and you die of radiation poisoning with the rest of us. Oo

De La Croix:  Would that I could, young man.  But I've already lost several patients today and if I lose too many more I'll need to fill out a whole different form and that'll be terribly tedious.  So I'll give you some very simple instructions if you'd like to avoid burdening me with your death.  Lay there.  Shut up.  Don't die.  ::She glanced towards the petulant Jem'Hadar:: That goes for you too puppy.  Down.  Heel.

Rurat’dari: I'm already sitting down.

The conversation paused as the Orion that 'dari had seen earlier had entered the area.

De La Croix:  Was there something you needed young man?  Perhaps a map back to whatever part of the ship you're supposed to be in?  Nurse...did this one escape from our mental health holding facility?  We really need to have that door reinforced.

A wry smirk crossed the Jem'Hadar's face.

O'Connor: Cute. Maybe slide the egocentricism aside for a bit, your majesty, I was coming over to speak with our “young” guest here.

Kangar: Look, I thought you were more Tholians.

O’Connor: :: out the side of his mouth to Wyla:: Maybe he needs an eye exam too. ::turns back to Kangar:: Do these legs look like a Tholian’s?

Rurat'dari: ::through gritted teeth:: You should have been able to hear me! You know my voice!

Avae: Response

'dari couldn't tell you the doctor's reaction, for she wasn't paying a great deal of attention. She was more focused on glaring at Kangar.

De La Croix: I see. So it seems like the one thing this crew is good at is getting injured. Now I'm starting to understand how Beckie's skills advanced to such a degree...he was constantly working in bulk. Very well...Nurse, we'll need to setup a class four enzymatic scanning array around the artificially juvenile patient over there...we'll need to figure out if there is any of their unaltered DNA left to work with. That one...::she considered what she knew about Jem'Hadar physiology::...you're lucky your breeders liked their doggies tough. Administer twenty CC's of hyronalin and ten of lectrazine...that should be enough to keep your heart beating until we can figure out the rest. On that subject...if you two would like to explain exactly why you thought a nice radiation bath was a good idea now would be the time. We need details if we're going to develop an effective long term treatment regimen.

She heard a hiss and felt cold on her neck, assuming the stuff that the doctor mentioned was now in her amber bloodstream.

O'Connor: The radiation, that wasn’t exactly intentional. After I got bit my suit was compromised…then damaged more…then well, shredded I guess. Anyway, we need info from these two right now, so you rubbing me down with decon gel have to wait for a bit. ::winks sarcastically (if there is such a thing)::

Avae: Response

Rurat'dari: I was working on the gateway at the reactor before it all went awry. Sencha radiation levels were far beyond safe…

((Flashback - Reactor Dome “The Lid”, Moon Sigma, Ross 580 System))

The warnings blared, but nothing that she or Aduko did could put a lid (haha) on the Sencha radiation levels.

tr’Kharis: ::Snapping:: Report!

Aduko: ::Gritting his teeth.:: It’s past critical. ::Frantically working at the controls of the coolant distribution system, his tone of voice was unusually muted.:: Containment is failing. A lash spike of double the magnitude we’ve witnessed before just…took out…

Rurat'dari snapped to attention before speaking. She had to be honest.

Rurat'dari: Sencha radiation beyond safe levels, Sir.

tr’Kharis: ::gasping:: What is containment at?

Aduko: ::He returned to the console. It wobbled left and right now, but still displayed the obvious.:: Coolant is…overheating.

Rurat'dari: It's failing, Sir.

tr’Kharis: ::harsh, almost feral snarl:: Get out. Get them all out. Evacuate to the Hab. Now!

((End Flashback))

She shuddered as the memory crossed her mind.

Kangar: I gave my statement already. There was an accident.

O’Connor: ::breathes out frustratingly:: Concise. Look kid, we want to help here but…

Kangar sat up aggressively.

Kangar: First of all, I’m not a kid. Second, there were several coinciding factors that led to our “situation”. And third, even if I could explain it all to you, there is no way that you ::points condescendingly:: would understand.

oO I'm the only one in this room that would understand. Oo

O’Connor: I’m getting a little tired of being talked down to like I’m an idiot. While I am most assuredly the least intelligent one in this current conversation, I still am…

Kangar: There was an accident.

oO Wow. Helpful. Oo

The Orion sighed.

O’Connor: Fine…the hard way.

He stepped forward and grabbed the Bajoran by the front of his hospital gown with his left hand while cocking his right fist back to strike.

O’Connor: You like accidents so much, you’re about to have another one. What the h3!! are you hiding?

Rurat'dari: Just tell him already! They know what I did. Tell. Them.

She didn't want him to tell them, but she knew he probably needed to.

Avae/de la Croix: Response

The Orion was about to punch Kangar when he was hypo'd, collapsing unconsious.

Avae/de la Croix: Response

'dari glanced to the sickbay doors, noticing a familiar green face.

Rurat'dari: Aduko?

She heard his voice, faint but recognisable.

Aduko: I know her! ::He waved, hoping to get Rurat'dari's attention.:: I didn't realize she was still alive...

Rurat'dari fully turned to the Second-in-Command when the security personnel he was with let him through.

Rurat'dari: You're alive… It's good to see someone still around who's relatively unaffected.

Avae/De La Croix: Response

Aduko: Excuse me. ::A beat, while the officers in sickbay carried on their conversation.:: Excuse me! I am Joakim Aduko, second in command of the facility your people are so bravely trying to evacuate and contain. I do not wish to be held here, I do not need medical treatment. Let me help, or send me back!

Avae/De La Croix/O'Connor: Response (O'Connor response optional, since he's been knocked out)

Rurat'dari: ::to the others:: One moment.

'dari's voice was coarse, and she pulled Aduko to a less chaotic area of Sickbay. The stuff she was given should keep her alive, at least for a while.

Rurat'dari: What were you thinking, coming up here?

Aduko: Response

She paused to gesture at the whole situation, her auburn hair flicking over her shoulder.

Rurat'dari: We're probably going to get our information taken away from us.

Aduko: Response

Once again, Rurat'dari exhaled, a fruitless attempt at self-soothing. It most likely came across as a sigh.

Rurat'dari: Nothing ever lasts forever…

Aduko: Response
