((Cockpit, USS Rhine, Outside the J-0922A System))

It was lunacy.

Yet, somehow, not the craziest thing Luxa had ever done. Leaving the safety of a powerful starship like the Ronin to take the Rhine into enemy territory on the thin hopes they can gather some tangible intel on the S-Wave weapons. With a high likelihood of a horrific death.

And she had suggested this? She felt a pang of guilt at dragging Alieth and the others into her

Alieth: Sencha radiation levels from the wreckage will begin to penetrate our shields in two minutes, we will need a tactical analysis of the surrounding space before we move :: Looking at the front seats of the Rhine:: are there hostile ships around us? Are we within range of the stations' passive scanners?

Raedai : They haven't gone out to look for their remains yet, so we're alive. But the longer we stay here and the farther the Ronin and Khitomer get...

Lorana: It becomes more perilous.

Luxa poured over the scans, as she attempted to find the safest route to navigate through the debris field, using the interference from the Serncha radiation. A fine balancing act so as not to be drawn in. She did not want her molecules disintegrated today.

Alieth: Ensign, as long as we are not in a medical emergency, I will need you to double me up with the secondary science console and the scanners. For now, use only the passive ones until we determine that we can work beyond that. Do you have any training on this?

Syrex: I have a minor degree in helm control, so I’ve had a bit of training on all stations.

Putting her med kit back down, Alyndra moved over to the secondary science station.

Alieth: ::With a glint in her eye :: It will suffice. :: Turning to the other officers.:: Have you determined the route to approach the cloaked areas?

Raedai: In the areas close to where there has been combat, it is relatively easy to hide, for the moment. But to get to the cloaked areas safely, we can only do so if we look like one of the remnants. At the speed at which they move, it would take us two days to reach the nearest area.

Syrex : :: Turning to Face Raedai:: I’m uncertain I can provide enough doses of inoculant for that long, even if it worked. I might be able to replicate more, but it would take some time.

Lorana: We could shorten that time, but it would leave us more exposed to detection. I have mapped a route to the secondary area.

Luxa could tell that Alieth was not especially happy with either option. Neither was she.

Alieth: Neither seems like a good option, but we knew what we were up against. My main focus is to find out why the secondary area is so protected and what the structure it contains is for, but that high-density cloaking barrier may reveal our position too soon, or result in a poisoning like the one Miss Lorana and I suffered in Olindra. Which options do you suggest for or against it?

Raedai: their cloaking field should be a problem to detect us, the way it catches almost any signal. :: So it was with the 100-year-old Romulan cloaking systems that Starfleet was well aware of.:: But they came out of it when they detected the Ronin in... trouble. So, they must have something to help them see out or some particular frequency that transcends from their side like communications. If we find either of those two, we can fool them by sending the signal ourselves of whatever we want them to see.

Syrex : That’s incredible, if we could do that, the possibilities are endless. We could modify our signature to be a hunk of debris, or duplicate the Rhines signal, they won’t know where to start, but it would draw unwanted attention to ourselves.

Lorana: Scanning the database we retrieved from the superstructure. There was various frequencies captured. I would imagine it is going to be one of them :: tapped on the consoles :: 13 possible frequencies. We need to narrow the parameters?

Once again, the Vulcan remained silent for a while.

Alieth: We will use that second option, take off carefully, approach vector using the wreckage while we have the chance.

Raedai: Up to these coordinates… :: pointed on a screen visible to all:: We will look like part of what would be the remains of what we might call the starboard nacelle. :: The Tholians had a rather strange way of making nacelles.:: If we only use the maneuvering thrusters, we should not be detected.

Lorana: I can do that.

Raedai: it is a possibility, we would extend the radiation that hides us in the direction we want.

Alidar ran a couple of simulations with the data from the probes that were still scattered around, emitting even less energy than the Runaboat.

Syrex: Lieutenant, if you’re wrong about the radiation, it could pose a serious risk to the health of this crew, there’s little we can do to combat its effects outside inoculation and steering clear of it.

Lorana: If we monitor the radiation levels, we can avoid the more potent eddies … or as a last resort full impulse out and go to warp. And hope LA doesn't shoot us out of space.

Alieth: response

Raedai: a small, very small impulse could be useful and should not be detected.

Syrex: It may only appear as a blip on their sensors, but depending on the Lattice Alliance's stubbornness, they may still be keeping a very watchful eye on this region, are we able to risk that kind of manoeuvre?

Lorana:  It’s a risk we’re going to have to take. Scans do indicate that they’ve come out of alert mode. Yet they’re likely monitoring the area :: to Raedai:: Is there anyway we can find out the sections they are actively scanning? If we can do that I’d be able to avoid it. Like hiding in the shadows.

Alieth/Raedai: Response

Syrex: Aye, I’ll keep watch on the sensors, I should have enough inoculations for a day comfortably, three if I have some time alone with the replicator.

The Rhine shook slightly as the runabout made her way through the debris field, and entered a denser section of space. Pieces of Tholian hull striking against the shield, and ricocheted across the field around the Rhine.

Lorana: :: smiles apologetically :: Sorry, I’ll try to avoid the larger pieces.

Alieth/Raedai/Syrex: Response

Lorana: Testing the revised modulation frequencies against the harmonic resonance of the cloaking barrier.

The map from her console altered, and she seen that the modulations had taken effect, after a few alterations the parameters narrowed to 4 selections.

Alieth/Raedai/Syrex: Response

Lorana: Lieutenant? Can you check these frequencies? :: with a flick she moved the details to his console then turned to Syrex :: Exciting first away mission, Ensign?

Alieth/Raedai/Syrex: Response

Several alerts began to chime.

Lorana: They’re scanning this section.

The runabout interior fell quiet as they waited to see if the modifications they had made would work in shielding them from the scans.

Luxa sighed as the scans stopped and the LA made no movements.

Lorana: Looks like they worked. Crossing the cloaking barrier in under two minutes.

Alieth/Raedai/Syrex: Response
