(( Corridors, Deck 1, Main Compartment, DS33 ))

The Al-Leyan held no emotion back as he drew on what reserves he had left to try and inspire those under his command to push even harder, farther, longer.

Korras: To the last breath. Today is a good day to die.

Kiran:::addressing the group:: As I said before, trust your training. Your training will help you through this. Above all, listen to your CO at all times. I know it shouldn’t have to be said, but things do tend to go pear-shaped.

T’Fearne::: quietly:: I wonder how many last breaths today has taken. :: blinking away the morose thoughts and steeled her face into a determined/neutral expression::

Valo: Better to focus on our victory.

Raga: =/\= Raga to Ops. We’re here. Every last person we could still reach has fallen back to the Embassy and are positioned throughout the entire deck. A hundred strong between them and you. We’ll make every shot count. =/\=

Stergis: =/\= Understood Commander.  Internal security grid is a mess but we'll try to seal some doors and slow them down at least, create some firing lanes for you. =/\=

Mackenna: =/\= Response =/\=

Several explosions sounded from the corridors outside and intense phaser and disruptor fire. By their volume he could tell they were far from the Embassy itself.

Osiris: =/\= The Alliance is pushing again, Port side. =/\=

The call given Toryn looked to those members of the Seiuri Team and to the Klingon who for better or worse looked more than ready to fight on.

Raga: You’re with us, Lieutenant Korras.

Korras: Yes sir.

T’Fearne: On it.

With the command barely gone from his lips the Al-Leyan moved in a rush towards the doors, rifle being slung from behind him to be wielded as he lead them out of the Embassy and down the corridors to the port side of the deck where dozens of their brethren were already positioned and engaged in battle. Tholians and Sheliak appeared to be attempting to breach the deck through two turbolift shafts and a stairwell.

Toryn pressed against a bulkhead and leaned around the corner over another crewman crouched in the same spot and fired at the enemy with precise shots. With so many of their own they had to be careful of burst fire.

Kiran: I’ve got the turbolift covered at the moment. Is it me, or are they setting up some sort of cannon emplacement? They get that thing put together and we’re going to be in a world of hurt…

Toryn looked where Kiran referred to and mentally cursed in honor of his best friend. oO Fvadt! Oo

Korras: Is there any other way into this position? I found several Tholians roaming throughout the station, I would not be surprised if they are trying to flank or distract us.

T’Fearne: I’ll provide suppression fire on the stairs.

Valo: Targeting their cannon team.

The enemies that were mid process of setting up their own cannon were beset by the intense fire from nearly all of Seiuri squad to the point that several of the Sheliak and Tholians fell from the focused phaser fire.

Raga: Good, don’t let them get that cannon operational!

Kiran: Commander, do we have any transporter inhibitors left?

T’Fearne: I saw some active in the Embassy proper. There might be a few unactivated ones in a supply crate. I’ll check. How many do we need?

Raga: We should have a few. When we fell back I had a few of the ones we’d already placed brought with us just in case.

Korras/Kiran/Breeze: Response

Toryn watched her rush away back towards the embassy to grab what she could find, while he and the others held the line. When she came back in short order he was grateful to see they had even that many extra. Not counting the ones already active on Deck 1. Ops, and the Embassy and most of the corridors around and between them should have a little overlap.

T’Fearne: We need to use these sparingly. Maybe carry them with us.

While she attached one to her person, Toryn fired on a pair of Sheliak that pushed past the stairwell landing and onto the deck. The first was caught by a dozen phaser beams from the defenders and its companion twice that number.

Valo: Hey, what happened with the environmental controls up there? Are they managed via a separate control system?

Raga: Possibly. Those controls would be in Ops.

Korras/Kiran/T’Fearne/Breeze: Response

A trio of Tholians moved up the stairwell next, disruptors already being fired in a rapid spread. He’d barely ducked back around the bulkhead in time, a few others weren’t so lucky. Two crewmen took several blasts to the chest, arms and legs before they dropped to the deck. Unmoving.

Valo: What about fire suppression systems? Some systems will use force fields and trap a flame, allowing it to snuff out all the oxygen. That….doesn’t seem like a good idea. BUT, if there is any kind of water or cooling mechanic built in on the starbase it might help these guys chill out.

Raga: Good idea, Ensign. Sadly with this many of us here too that could negatively impact our own people. ::A disruptor bolt whizzed past his head and he dropped lower, then popped around the corner to fire back:: That might work if we could freeze them out of Deck Two, since that’s where the ones using the stairs are coming from.

Korras/Kiran/T’Fearne/Valo/Breeze: Response

A brief but rapid series of faint explosions caught his sensitive hearing first before it echoed through the corridors.

Solana: =/\= Starboard side breach!! They’re pushing through the lifts and a half dozen just beamed in. They’re heading for the starboard airlock in section five! =/\=

Raga: =/\= Understood! Raga to Ops, a group of Alliance troops just beamed in near the starboard airlock. I think they're going to try and decompress the entire deck! Can you block them? =/\=

Stergis/MacKenna: =/\= Response =/\=

Raga: =/\= Copy, we’ll see if we can deal with them in the meantime. Raga out. =/\= ::He looked at the rest of his team as well as a few of the other crew around them:: Seiuri on me, the rest of you hold position and keep them back.

Korras/Kiran/T’Fearne/Valo/Breeze: Response

Following a series of acknowledgements he ran back down the corridor away from the fighting on the port side and pushed through the staggered units he’d positioned in every corridor.

Around them the sounds of the intense battle being waged, their desperate last stand to hold the station against an equally desperate enemy was a haunting backdrop. He turned down an adjacent passage and ahead at the next junction dozens of green and amber beams criss crossed the space from the fire fight they ran towards. Five of their own held this side of the junction, taking turns to turn fire down the corridor to the left. When he reached them Toryn tapped one on the back gently and leaned out.

Raga: Winds, there’s more of them. They must have beamed in reinforcements.

Crewman: Yes, sir. They destroyed the transport inhibitor near the airlock and have been beaming in for the last minute. Don’t know why they aren’t now though.

Raga: You can thank Ensign, T’Fearne for that. ::He gestured to the inhibitor on her person:: Ensign, set up one of those other two in that room right there. ::He gestured to the door a couple of feet from them::

Korras/Kiran/T’Fearne/Valo/Breeze: Response

Raga: Kiran, Valo. Thermoplastic grenades, on the count of three the rest of you give us covering fire and then we toss them.

Korras/Kiran/T’Fearne/Valo/Breeze: Response

He nodded at the near dozen people around him and then gave the count.

Raga: Three….two…one. Cover!

Korras/Kiran/T’Fearne/Valo/Breeze: Response

As everyone tasked with suppressive fire unleashed a barrage on the Alliance position he stepped out, triggered the grenade and hurled it hard enough that it slammed into a Sheliak’s face with enough force to send the silicon enemy reeling backwards a moment before the muniton went off and caught it, as well as three other Sheliak and Tholians in the blast.

WOMP! WOMP! WOMP!

A disruptor beam slammed into the wall in front of him as he pulled back from having thrown the grenade and one of the security with them cried out in pain. The beam partially scattered off the corner of the wall and amidst wails of pain the half Bajoran scrambled back, hands clutched to his face. His eyes were completely seared by the beam.

Raga: Medic!!!! Get him back!

Toryn ordered and took the wounded Petty Officer’s place, his phaser rifle sprayed beams down the corridor ahead. Four enemy, two Sheliak and two Tholians were at the airlock door, between their friends on both sides that offered a protective line.

Korras/Kiran/T’Fearne/Valo/Breeze: Response

Raga: Focus fire on the ones by the airlock. We can’t let them bypass the safety lock!

The Al-Leyan squeezed off several shots toward the group in question, over the heads of those holding the enemy’s line or between them. He managed to catch one of the Tholians several times, and watched them drop after a few beams struck its shoulder and neck. Sadly, the other Tholian kicked his companion away before the exo-suit exploded and spared the Sheliak from being caught in its blast.
