[[Computer Core Tank’s Chamber, 50th level, Lattice Alliance Unknown Structure]]

Alieth: We can create a small container with the wall panels to catch some of the liquid in the pool, just enough to survive in the Rhine long enough until we replicate something more suitable. :: raising a hand:: but that will likely activate the defence protocols, and no doubt we will need to get out of the star system as soon as possible. :: glancing at her own PADD before checking on Lorana:: Do we have all the relevant information we need?
Lorana: We still have several minutes left.
Alieth: Ok, I will leave this downloading until the last possible moment, when you finish your download, Miss Lorana, we will begin the process. :: Pressing her combadge:: =/\= Lieutenant Raedai, can you lock our signals and beam us up as soon as we give you the signal? We are going to do something that will set off the alarms. =/\=

Whilst the other officers conversed, Alyndra began searching the computer laboratory for anything she could use to heal the symbiont. Her ear twitched as she heard Alieth say the words “Something” and “Alarm”. For a Vulcan, it seemed uncomfortably mysterious.

Raedai: =/\= I've been listening, Commander. You are locked and I heard we are taking something else with us. I'm isolating and preparing one of the computer cores for data. I remain on standby. =/\=

As Alyndra continued to seek items for the symbiont's transport to the Rhine, she heard Commander Alieth begin to address her. The trill turned on her heels, maintaining an upright posture.

Alieth: Ensign Syrex, are you sure you can keep this symbiote alive by any means in your hands until we can get it to the Ronin? Even if that means you host it if there is no other alternative?

Alyndra’s heart skipped a beat. She had heard of hosts who ended up with symbionts by chance, and she didn't want to be like that. She needed to earn the right in the eyes of her peers, which she had almost completed. Joining with the Salik symbiont would be a last resort. If it came to that, she would have approximately ninety-three hours to get it out, or be bound together forever.
She hoped the captain wouldn't be disappointed in missing a reunion with an old colleague if she didn't play host to the symbiont before it went back to Trill. She just prayed she wouldn't have to be the one to tell him what, or who they’d found on the structure here.
There was also the case of the symbiont’s sanity. It had been alone for so many years that the mental toll could very easily be passed along to Alyndra. But she was still a healer, and she had an obligation to help that symbiont.

Lorana: Only as a last resort and even at that. It’s your body and your … identity. A joining is not to be taken lightly Ensign and if you don’t or can’t do it, then you won’t have too.
Syrex: If that’s what needs to be done, then yes. I am a doctor, I will look after my patient the best I can.
Alieth: Very well, we will do our best to ensure that this is not necessary.

Alyndra nodded, continuing to scavenge the lab for resources.

Alieth: Lorana, you and I will cut two panels and weld them into a hemisphere to hold the liquid from the pool. Ensign Syrex, capture the symbiote as soon as possible to deposit it in the container. :: Activating the helmet's inner communicator with her cheek:: =/\= Lieutenant, have you got us locked? =/\=
Raedai: =/\= They have been all along, secure a marker for the new guest. You are deep in the complex. =/\=
Syrex: =/\= On it, lieutenant. I’ll let you know when it’s ready for transport =/\=
Alieth: On my mark: one, two, three... NOW!

As Alyndra prepared the symbiont with utmost caution, grasping it lightly with two hands as the transplanted it into it’s tank along with a good helping of the fluid it had been swimming in. She heard a phaser fire from behind her, she knew that Alieth was planning something, she supposed that this was it.
However, that wasn't all. The phaser fire began to detach one of the panels from the wall. The circuits that seemed to run through it sizzled and let off small purple flares. Alyndra looked around. Lorana and Alieth were tearing into the wall like children on the human holiday of Christmas. The room was bathed in a dark purple hue when the wall was worn. A low alarm began to rumble throughout the room, possibly reaching the rest of the structure.

Lorana: :: yanked at the panelling :: Eugh … :: as it comes free :: … Let's hurry!

Alyndra rushed, taking her medkit and tagging the tank with an ETU (Emergency Transport Unit). It was typically configured to transport to sickbay, but the Ronin was far out of reach, it could do little but act as an identifier for the Symbiont’s portable tank.

Lorana: It’s your turn!
Syrex: =/\= The symbiont is ready for transport! Lock onto the emergency transport unit’s reciever =/\=
Alieth: Response

Before long, a blue and gold sparkle shone around the room, as the structure dissipated from Alyndra’s view, replaced with the interior of the Rhine. Raedai entering her view, although the reunion was short, as the ship begun to shake violently within seconds of their arrival.

((Cockpit, USS Rhine, Outside the J-0922A System))

Raedai: They shoot at us with disruptors. Who said this place was abandoned?

Alyndra didn’t fully understand the situation outside the shuttlecraft, but she didn’t completely care. Her main priority was to keep the symbiont alive, in this moment, nothing else mattered to her.
The tank she had found for the symbiont was crude; far less intricate than the tank onboard the structure. Since transport changed the external enviroment would take her a few minutes to fully ensure the symbionts safety onboard the Rhine.

Syrex: The Symbiont doesn’t like the change in environment, if I have my way, it’ll be stabilised in a few moments.
Alieth: Response
Raedai: Lieutenant Lorana, stay on this course. :: He pointed for a moment to some coordinates on the pilot's station screen.:: The probes are waiting for us, they will generate false signals from the runaboat, we will become 7 ships, they can't chase them all. They will be activated as soon as we cross the cloaking field.

Clever, Alyndra just hoped that anyone who’d come to pursue the Rhine would be fooled for long enough.
Lorana: :: smiled and nodded :: Raedai you are becoming one of my favourite persons.

The ship was moving away from the complex, but the further away the more weapons were angled and the more hits they received.
Some saturated the inertial dampers, one of the hardest hits caused the consoles to flicker, something in the bottom of the ship overloaded, causing sparks to fly and pieces of insulation to burn like rocks. The shields were holding for the moment, but not for long. Alyndra covered the tank with her body, similarly to the way an animal would cling to a tree for dear life.
Lorana: You might want to hold on!

Syrex: oO The symbiont won’t enjoy that Oo I’ll pass that along to my little friend here!
Alieth: Response
Raedai: reaching the edge of the camouflage field.... Now. Activating probes 1 to 6... Warp core ready.
Lorana: Ready, Lieutenant. On your mark Commander.

Alieth: response

Raedai: Out of the other cloaking field come several ships, heading for... probe 2... probe 4, probe 1... and us.  It's a Tholian ship.

Alyndra continued to focus on the Symbiont the best she could, but she needed to know what was going on outside, gazing on the nearest console to her, she could see the Tholian ship wasn’t one of the leviathans, a slight relief that was quickly replaced with the realisation that the Rhine was also no match for this ship either.
It let off a volley of torpedoes, that flashed towards the runabout just as the ship went into warp with a violent jolt, both herself and the symbiont were thrust against one of the walls, a slight crack appeared in the tank. The materials from the structure may have been worn from the sudden change in temperature between there and the Rhine.

Lorana: Warp field destabilising … :: the ship rocked again, much more aggressively :: I can’t keep us in warp any longer, the ship might pull apart!

Syrex: ::Towards the Symbiont:: It’s ok Salix, we’ll get you through this, we have too.

As Alyndra addressed the symbiont she saw it sloshing around in the tank, the lights on the base glowing red and orange, not as much green as Alyndra wanted to be seeing. Unless the situation in the Rhine concluded, she may be joined sooner than she realised.

Syrex: :: In a panicked tone:: Please keep us as steady as you can, the symbiont is struggling back here!

Alieth: Response
