to USS Ronin
((Deck 14 Main Engineering, Pool Table, USS Ronin))

Lieutenant Junior Grade Rachel Morgan stood at the pool table, hands on it, leaning over it as reports ship-wide were coming in. Something was rotten in Denmark. So who knew what the command team was doing? The bridge was above her pay grade; whatever was going on outside the ship was starting to play havoc with the inside of the ship.

Random EPS conduits exploding for no real reason, so far, four have blown out on different decks and different systems. She’d also heard that things were disappearing and reappearing at random. If all that’s happening, it must be Friday on the Ronin.

Her hands flew over the LCARS, dispatching repair teams; it seemed now the turbolift between decks 12 and 14. Whatever they were doing up there, they needed to knock it off.

Morgan: Chip, I want you and Dahl to head up the turbolift repairs. Get a move on it. ::she smiled while blowing a curl out of her face::

Miller: Yes ma’am

She was about to say something else before her combadge chirped.

Dogna: =/\= Lt. Dohna to Lt. Morgan.  Please meet me in the Torpedo and Probe bay on deck 10.=/\=

Morgan: =/\= On my way! =/\=

Things were strange enough, not necessarily harmful but more than just annoying. As they approached whatever was causing it, objects would disappear and then reappear, just centimeters from their original spots. Morgan sighed and headed for the turbolift, only to remember it was currently offline. She climbed two decks via a jefferies tube and used a different turbolift there. She was not pleased about having to climb through a jefferies tube, which dampened her usual good mood.

((Deck 10, Torpedo and Probe bays, USS Ronin))

Rachel stepped into the Bay, seeing both Wren, whom she had just heard had joined the Ronin, and, of course, Dohna. She wasn’t sure what was going on totally,  but it wouldn’t take to long to get up to speed. She reached up and reafixed the messy bun on the top of her head, her red hair not wanting to cooperate. In a huff, she gave up, today was not her day.

She came in mid-conversation.

Wren: before the probes arrived, I was able to download a scan of the area where the Kurosawa…. :: uncomfortable:: incident occurred. I don't know if we can take any additional data from these now, though.

Morgan: ::she nodded to Dohna and Wren:: Got here as soon as I could, there are some minor things going on aboard ship, it's been acting strange since the Kurosaw—

Her voice dropped. While she didn’t know the CO and XO personally, they’d always done right by her. Going from warp core builder to starship engineer wasn’t an easy transition, but both of them and Chief Tucker helped her along.

Dohna: What I can see is that the probe's chronometer is no longer synced to the Ronin's. The probe has experienced a time dilation, a significant one.

Morgan: ::pulling out her padd, bringing up the relevant information:: We’re talking different time zones here (beat) back on Earth, when it was the United States it was split into time zones. Crazy, I know. There was a three-hour time difference between the East and West Coasts of America. Well, it was all around the world, and its time log reads like it was bounced around for quite a while.

Wren: That makes sense. The area's littered with chronitons, indicating a space-time shift

Morgan went over to peek at Wren’s shoulder, keeping a respectful distance. She had just met the woman and didn’t want to weird her out or anything. Rachel went ahead and brought the data up on her engineering tripadd. It was like there was a Kurosawa ‘shadow’, except where the probe had gone through.

oO I’d send another probe myself, see if it disappears too… Oo

Rachel watched as Wren gripped the console, turning a lovely shade of green. She felt it too, but it was like a pain right behind her eyeballs. She winced, pinching the bridge of her nose with her thumb and forefinger. As if the day couldn’t get any weirder.

Dohna: There is more. The probe seems to have encountered some kind of subspace anomaly. You can see these ribbon like structures here.

Wren: oO None of these ribbons look exactly the same, but .. it almost looks as though they might fit together. Oo

Rachel scratched her head, inadvertently letting the bun fall, and she quickly tied it off into a ponytail. Her hair was being especially unruly today, and she’d just about had enough of it.

Morgan: Well, between this and a chroniton eddy that’s out there, there is definitely something hinky going on, and I for one want to put that to a stop.

Dohna: It could explain the problems with the warp core.

oO She’s right, the problem was the warp core and forming a warp bubble. And this close to a never-before-seen chroniton eddy, so all bets are off…Oo

Wren: ::stepping back:...... It looks like someone took a hammer to a pane of glass…..

She was right, it was like someone took a ball-peen hammer and tapped the center of a pane of glass, and this fractured mess was the end result. Rachel crossed her arms as she stared at the overlay, wondering how it was opening up more questions than answers.

Morgan: Is that a good representation of how they actually are? Is there a pattern, or maybe a lack of, is causing the things on the Ronin to go on the fritz.  We’ve had EPS conduits overload, turbolift issues, the lack of being able to form a warp bubble as well.

Dohna: Response

The ribbons..the eddy…chronitons.

oO Whatever happened, it had to be an explosion of some sort, enough to engulf the Kurosawa and create both the eddy and the ribbons…ribbons… Oo

Wren: If the scattering of the ribbons is accurate, then the Ronin is currently in the outer border here ::gesturing to the second-closest ripple::. They're either touching the ship, or passing through the hull.

It looked as though Ensign Wren was going to say something, but she turned that interesting shade of green, which meant she felt nauseous. Morgan had a couple of strips of latium that were connected to the waves, and the one passing through the ship.

Wren: ::too quickly:: I'm fine. Just a little dizzy.

Morgan: I’ve had a headache since I walked in here, and it’s not getting any better. But we’re going to have to power through it or move.

Dohna: Response

Rachel jogged over to the med kit and popped it open. She grabbed some run-of-the-mill painkillers to hopefully beat back the headache a bit, and a hypo for Wren, to hopefully take care of her nausea.

Wren: I think it might be a good idea if we tell the bridge we need to move back. We don't know if the anomaly is affecting us, but it couldn't hurt to pull out of it before it potentially starts causing problems.

Rachel nodded and tapped her combadge, opening a channel.

Morgan: =/\= Lieutenant Morgan to the bridge =/\=

Bridge: =/\= Response =/\=

Morgan: =/\= We’re sending the data now, but we need to get some distance between us and the anomaly. It's wreaking havoc on systems and people's personal belongings; it’s most likely why the warp core was acting up, and we can’t form a warp bubble at the moment. =/\=

Bridge: =/\= Response =/\=

Morgan: =/\= Well, if I’m reading it right, I’d get us five klicks to starboard, and we’ll see if that helps. =/\=

Wren/Dohna: Response

Morgan: =/\= Oh, one last thing, permission to fire another prob at the eddy? We notice a time jump on the other probe, as the internal sensors and clocks were off by a significant amount, hence why we think we should back off until we get a wrangle on things.. =/\=s

Bridge: =/\= Response =/\=

Wren/Dohna: Response

Morgan: =/\= Right, we’ll get on it. Morgan out.. =/\= ::turning to Wren and Dohna:: You heard the man, let's get a couple probes up and running and find out what level of crap we’re in.

Wren/Dohna: Response
