V'Len trying to understand the files that Katsim Peri had sent to him on astrophysics and other stellar phenomena.  Presently he had gone down a rabbit hole regarding dark matter clusters and their potential risks to traveling starships.  Being dark matter these clusters were not necessarily detectable, but under certain circumstances could interfere with a ships function and potentially destroy it.  Current reports postulated that ships at warp were likely traversing these clusters unharmed constantly, but a vessel traveling out of warp could be less fortunate.  The door chime drew him out of his studies.

Kel: Come!

Shortrith: Good afternoon, Commander. You still got time for the session?

V'Len had requested the session, mostly  to make sure his recent stint in command and his promotion to full commander had not gone to his head.  He often relied on Nesre to act as a sounding board when he had concerns, but she was on the USS Butler, and V'Len knew it would be better to talk to someone closer to the situation.

Kel: :: shutting down his display::  Yes of course. As ever I seem to have gotten distracted, but I'm pleased to see you.

Renaie smiled at that, nodding acknowledgingly.

Shortrith: Good to hear.

Kel: Where do we start?

V'Len chided himself.  He'd never had an actual formal counseling session.

Shortrith: Let's start with the basics: How are you going?

Kel: ::glancing around the office::  Good, I think.  I was certainly glad to get away from Ross-580 without a fight.

Shrortrith: Response

Kel:  As a rule, I generally shirk away from violence, but ::pausing::  I have found it necessary from time to time.

Shortrith: Response

Kel: ::taking a deep breath:: Let's see, I'm a Trilldorian, but that wasn't intentional; I've had my cardiac muscle replaced with something we acquired off the black market; I have several voices in my head or at least in my stomach.  Things are pretty stable.

V'Len tried to sound funny as a way to diminish the severity of what he was actually explaining.  He wondered if it had worked.

Shortrith: Response
