((Counselling Suit, Deck 10, USS Ronin))

((Starting here but we can move scenes if we want))

They had reviewed the PADD several times, uncertain how best to initiate contact with the Klingon doctor. While they were already engaged in counseling, as with Counselor Saa, such communication was typically reserved for the scheduling of appointments. That was not their intent, as the doctor had offered to provide guidance regarding bedside manner.

They elected to avoid the formality of scheduling and instead resolved to arrive in person, with the intention of determining an appropriate time for discussion.

Proceeding to the familiar Deck 10, they surveyed the area until they located the office, coming to a stop at the door. They adjusted their gloves, considering whether such an unannounced visit constituted a social misstep. They had confirmed that there was an open interval in the doctor’s schedule before, after a brief pause to compose themselves, they pressed the door chime.

Taj’el: Greetings. Forgive the intrusion. This was Lieutenant Junior Grade Taj’el. I had come to speak with you, if that was acceptable.

Shortrith: Response

Taj’el took an additional moment before entering. They made a deliberate effort to avoid undue intrusion as they surveyed the surroundings. It was, by their assessment, atypical to observe a Klingon in a caregiving role. The only Klingon they had encountered at the Academy had been… “unrestrained” would have been a more precise characterization than “wild.”

Taj’el: Forgive my unannounced arrival. If this was not an appropriate time, I could return later. I had hoped to speak with you… and, if permissible, to accept the instruction you had offered in Sickbay.

Shortrith: Response

They surveyed the room as they approached, noting the individual’s features before allowing their attention to return to the surroundings. It was their assessment that a space often reflected aspects of its occupant’s disposition; such choices were inherently personal. Their own quarters, by contrast, were largely minimal, aside from a single item of personal significance kept for rest. As such, they considered that careful observation might yield insight into this new acquaintance.

Taj’el: I had been advised by our ship’s counselor that it was prudent to engage in social interaction, and I determined that you would serve as an appropriate baseline. Forgive me… I remained relatively new to Starfleet and to interactions with other species.

Shortrith: Response
