((Unity Cortex, Central Dorsal, Narhelion))

Evinrude: ::Voice tense, he replied to the open comm channel.:: =/\= Enemy boarding parties are scattered. They no longer outnumber our remaining immuno-defenses, and maintenance doppelgangers are now armed.=/\=

Renaie exhaled a sigh of relief.

Raga: T’Fearne and Venn, keep firing. Do what you can to whittle away what the Ronin will have to deal with without us. Everyone else, we have to take them out. Narhelion will be at the rift in less than ten minutes and there are more Alliance reinforcements that’ll be here in five.

Evinrude: The thermoplastic foam is failing, and we're running out of immuno-defenses. ::He took a breath, and seemed to make up his mind.:: We need to flank them, outside of this room.

Tucker: I’m preparing to put up a force shield dome over us; it should hold long enough to get what we need to do. Not sure how long it’ll hold ::he shrugged::

Shortrith: I'll try to get it to last as long as we need it.

Words streamed across the consoles, a message from Narhelion.

Narhelion: ~ Narhelion not leaving yet. ~

Venn: :: internally and to Narhelion :: ~ What?! Narhelion, no! Flee! Go away from them. Go to safety! ~

Raga: ::thinking and speaking aloud:: ~ Narhelion, you have to leave. Tiny Predator cleared the way for you to be free. They’ve chosen to stay and protect you to the end. ~

Tucker: ::looking down at his console:: Uh, so the Alliance aboard Narhelion are, if I’m reading this right... they're starting to beam out. Even with the armor, it’s not enough to disperse the transporter beams, like, say, shields prevent beaming. ::looking at Shortrith:: Can you track exactly what ships they’re beaming to? Might be a way to cut them off.

Shortrith: Narhelion, please. You have to go. For your own safety. ::to Tucker:: Seems like they're beaming to the larger ones.

Evinrude: Sir! I'm going up! ::Tess keyed in a command and stepped back out from behind the bank of consoles, pointing up at one of the ventilation tunnel openings. It was unsettlingly sphincter-adjacent.::

oO Don't kill or hurt yourself. Oo

T’Fearne/Venn: Response

Raga: Winds…well if she’s not leaving yet then I suppose we can’t either. =/\= Raga to Dohna. Narhelion turned around to assist the Ronin despite our protests. So we’re improvising. Get the runabouts ready just in case. I think she’s also trying to crush the boarders by increasing the gravity in places they are and we aren’t. =/\=

Dohna: =/\= Response =/\=

Tucker: Damage reports are starting to slow down. She seems to be getting better at helping herself, though I gotta say, the amount of power she generates is amazing. She could easily break the warp-ten barrier…

Shortrith: Come on… You can do this, Narhelion.

Evinrude: ::From above:: I'm heading for the group of Sheliak at the port-side door!

Raga: ::mentally and verbally:: ~ Narhelion, run! That’s a Sencha weapon it destroys. Anything biological and inorganic it kills. Get to the fissure! Please! ~

oO A sencha weapon??? Oo

Tucker: Son of a….they’re on station and powering up, Commander. I think they’re at the point, if they can’t have Narhelion, no one can. And that’s not so great for us ::he tried a weak smile:: I’m trying to send more power to the armor, but we’re tight on where that power can come from. Narhelion is using most of its power to propulsion and trying to get to the rift. ::looking to Shortrith:: Can you spare any power?

Shortrith: I'm trying!

Evinrude: ::Frustrated, quietly.:: Dammit, where's a vent when you nee–

Renaie heard Narhelion create an opening down, and their friend crawl down it.

Evinrude: Hello there!

oO Hello there indeed. Oo

Tucker: Nice shootn’ Tess, now get back here so I can raise this shield.

Shortrith: I'm holding where I can, but it's starting to wear down.

Raga: Response

There was only so much Renaie could handle.

Shortrith: ::to Evinrude:: Please, Lieutenant, be quick.

Raga/Evinrude: Response

Tucker: Sir, I’m reading an explosion in the cargo bay; there’s a hull breach that I’m attempting to put up a temporary shield to hold in the atmosphere. Or our people and runabouts will get sucked out the hole, which, as you can imagine, is not a good thing.

oO We need to go. Oo

Raga/Evinrude: Response

Tucker: We’re seeing some cascade failures which aren’t allowing me to rig a force shield. Consolor, can you see if you can back door the command structure? If I can’t go through it, we’ll go around the roadblock.

Shortrith: Give me a minute.

Raga/Evinrude: Response

Renaie focused on the screen in front of them, a small smile crossing their face as Narhelion easily let them through.

Shortrith: ::smiling slightly:: I'm getting somewhere!

Raga/Evinrude: Response

Tucker: Only a few minutes now, it’s just that Juggernaut that’s in our way and that cannon is about five minutes from full power. I’m open to suggestions.

Raga/Evinrude: Response

Shortrith: How much damage do the Alliance ships have?

Raga/Evinrude/Tucker: Response

Shortrith: Any chance we could launch a mass attack or something?

Raga/Evinrude/Tucker: Response

As the responses came in, Renaie paused. Something was… different. Something felt different, and they didn't have to be connected psychically to notice.

Shortrith: Hold on… did anyone else catch that?

Raga/Evinrude/Tucker: Response

They paused to try to see where Narhelion was in space.

Shortrith: I… I think Narhelion took us home.

Raga/Evinrude/Tucker: Response

oO We'll be okay. We always end up okay. Oo

Giving a gentle, appreciative pat, the Klingon gave a warm smile.

Shortrith: ::significantly calmer than three minutes ago:: We're through the rift.

Raga/Evinrude/Tucker: Response

What was Renaie going to do to help Doctor Beck? How were they going to help Narhelion?

oO That, I guess, we'll figure out soon enough. Oo

For now, at least, they were safe, and they could rest.
