((Crawl Space, The Lid, Moon Sigma in orbit of Gas Giant A, Ross 580 System))

Rurat'dari had slid in behind the wounded Klingon, dreading the close quarters-ness with four Starfleet officers.

Wren: ::pausing at a small collection of wires::.... This looks like a lighting system. Hang on, I can give us ::fiddles with it until the lights dimly turn on:... there we go.

Shortrith: Neat, thanks.

oO This definitely has seen better days. I was there for those better days. Oo

O’Connor: Nice. Let’s keep moving though. Carefully but expediently. Who knows how structurally sound this passage or any of this building still is.

Rurat'dari: Given that it's been here for decades, I assume it's still strong… Even with all the radiation.

T'Fearne: Commander? If another temporal shear hits…::beat:: Please try to avoid it. I draw the line at taking orders from someone in an infant waste-containment garment.

A small laugh echoed from 'dari's mouth as she imagined the Orion as a child.

Wren: ::Trying not to laugh:: What about a geriatric patient?

Shortrith: ::smiling slightly:: We'd be able to understand him better if that were the case.

O’Connor: Hey, I barely understand me now sometimes. And likewise Lieutenant, none of us want to have to change your logical leakage.

Rurat'dari: ::Mumbling:: I don't want to deal with any of your logic.

Rurat'dari almost bumped into the Klingon as the Vulcanoid in front stopped.

T'Fearne: ::whispering:: The tunnel ahead appears structurally compromised. Turn off your lights and go very slow and quiet.

Wren: ::uncoiling herself:: This damage looks new, there’s no rust or ageing on the metal that I can see, though I’m without a tricorder at the moment.

Shortrith: ::whispering:: I'd suggest we be careful.

O’Connor: Well it’s obviously a no passing zone so inch your way forward up there.

Rurat'dari: ::Sarcastically:: Will we fit?

T'Fearne: Response

Once again, Rurat'dari almost bumped into the klingon as they paused.

oO Does this person not know common courtesy? Oo

Wren: Drones. The Tholians have drones that can cut through metal-

oO You didn't know that? Oo

Not even a second after the Betazoid spoke, a large crack echoed through the tunnel - the stone ceiling about three metres away from them cracked open, and started to crumble. And the sound of blaster fire.

Shortrith: What's going on???

O’Connor: Someone’s shooting somewhere. But it doesn’t seem to be at us… yet. On the plus side it probably means our phasers will work now.

Rurat'dari: ::venomous:: As long as you don't shoot me.

T'Fearne: Response

Wren: ::trying not to panic:: Keep moving! ::struggling to take out her PADD:: I need a way to mask our bio-signatures, but it’ll take about five minutes!

oO Doesn't matter to me, I just work here. Oo

Shortrith: Do it quickly!

O’Connor: Best you can Ensign, but do it on the move. We can’t get caught in a shoot out in here.

Rurat'dari: ::pretending to care:: Don't cover mine, I'm expected here.

T'Fearne: Response

Wren: ::Curse word that is redacted by the translator::

Shortrith: Yeah, that's how we're all feeling.

O’Connor: :: blows out a long breath:: Agreed.

Rurat'dari: ::To herself:: I'm glad they don't know about the power source yet…

T'Fearne: Response

Shortrith: How far away are we from the life sign?

oO What does it matter? Oo

Wren/T'Fearne: Response

O’Connor: ::he whispered back:: So almost right below?

Shortrith: ::stressed:: Well, we need to move faster!

O’Connor: Carefully. There’s lot’s of corrosion… :: the tunnel shook as what they guessed was a nearby wall was blasted:: And there’s that.

Rurat'dari: ::to herself:: We're getting near the plant… I know we are.

Wren/T'Fearne: Response

Shortrith: If we keep moving, we'll be able to avoid this tunnel getting destroyed, and help the person.

O’Connor: Just keep watching where you're go….

'dari glanced back to the Orion half-falling through the duct.

She made a point not to look at what was coming into contact with his stomach.

She gasped as she realised where the duct was above.

Rurat'dari: That's the pathway to the plant.

Wren/T'Fearne/Shortrith: Response

O’Connor: Ahhh, help. I’m falling.

'dari had a firm hand on his wrist, being closest.

But she felt him slipping.

Rurat'dari: He's falling into the corridor heading toward the reactor.

Wren/T'Fearne/Shortrith: Response

She immediately looked down the hole to be in the corridor, only to see - Kanagar, was it? She couldn't even remember, but it was the Bajoran - pull the Orion down into the passageway below. Despite her firm grip letting go and moving to one of the smoother pieces of metal, she ended up landing almost directly on top of the unconscious Orion.

Wren/T'Fearne/Shortrith: Response

Rurat'dari: Kanagar what are you doing-

Rurat'dari noticed the Bajoran glance up and notice the starfleet uniforms, fire a disruptor shot upwards, and then sprint away - right towards the reactor.

Rurat'dari: He's heading towards the plant.

Wren/T'Fearne/Shortrith: Response

'dari raised her eyebrows, not too surprised the others weren't aware.

Rurat'dari: If you must know, we developed a link, a tunnel, a gateway, to an alternate Ross-580, if that's what you call it. This wasn't the Lattice Alliance. This was us.

She paused to take a breath.

Rurat'dari: This was me.

Wren/T'Fearne/Shortrith: Response

Her attempt at calm morphed to anger as she heard their words.

Rurat'dari: HOW COULD I EVER TRUST YOU? My people have been at war with yours for decades, how could I ever trust your lot with the knowledge that I found? I can barely trust the Administrator with this information, lest he tell the Alliance!

Her breaths hissed through her teeth, the deep breaths not helping her mood.

Wren/T'Fearne/Shortrith: Response
