((CMO's Office, Sickbay, Deck 10, USS Ronin))

Renaie had finished the last report, and had handed all the padds with reports from the mission over to Beck. They'd all included individual diagnoses and courses of action, as well as their own insight. If all went well, Renaie had left the sickbay in good order for handover back to Doctor Beck.

Beck: Really, really impressive work, Lieutenant. ::thoughtfully:: Did you really only serve on the Astraeus as a Medical officer for four months before becoming a Counselor?

Shortrith: Thank you, and yeah, I did. It was only four months.

Renaie frowned for a moment as the sadness of the last days on the Astraeus crossed their mind, but they tried to replace it with a smile.

Beck chuckled slightly, looking over their service record and shaking his head.

Beck: I am just surprised it was only that short amount of time, because the skills you've displayed suggest a more seasoned officer. But some people excel faster than others, I have come to find.

The small smile that was on their face grew a little more at the praise.

Shortrith: Thank you!

The two continued with their work until the sickbay doors hissed open, with a Vulcan walking through. They seemed to wear teal, which Renaie assumed was the Medical colours of the ship they were from.

Renaie noticed the CMO shooting a look their way, before raising his chin in the Vulcan's direction.

Beck: Any idea who that is?

Shortrith: I think it's our visitor from the Thor. Their name is Taj'el, if memory serves.

Renaie shared a glance with Beck before following him out of the office.

Beck: Good… uh… ::glancing at the chrono:: afternoon. I'm Doctor Quentin Beck, Chief Medical Officer here on the Ronin. How can I help you?

Taj’el: Lieutenant Junior Grade Taj’el. I am here on temporary assignment. As the crew is currently on shore leave, you were welcome to have me to cover any shifts should you wish additional time to rest following your mission.

He blinked at that, but nodded slowly.

Beck: I appreciate your volunteering, Lieutenant Taj'el, though I'm not yet sure that will be necessary since shore leave has only just started. In any case, welcome aboard - happy to have you on the team. Please feel free to ask questions whenever you find necessary.

Renaie nodded toward the mew person.

Shortrith: Welcome aboard, happy to have you here.

The doors to Sickbay whooshed open again and another Vulcan sauntered in - or, well, a Vulcan/human hybrid, at least on first glance.

Jace: Ensign Jace Ryen, reporting for routine intake physical.

Renaie awkwardly waved.

oO Two new people at once…? Oo

Taj’el: Ensign Ryen, please proceed to the biobed… ::They paused abruptly, seeming to realize their assumption:: Forgive me, Doctors. It was a force of habit.

Beck: That's okay. I don't have a problem with an eager beaver in my Sickbay, so long as they don't let it get out of hand.

Shortrith: You're a medical officer for a reason. ::to Ryen:: What department are you in?

Jace: Newly assigned to Security. I was told Sickbay would want to confirm I'm still assembled correctly after transport.

The Doctor smiled a little at that as his gaze returned to Ryen, his chin dipping in something like a nod.

Taj’el: I shall leave the matter to you both, then. I can return to my research on ultraviolet radiation.

Beck: ::dryly:: Thank you, Lieutenant Taj'el. I would love to hear more about that research a little bit later. ::to Shortrith:: You wanna handle this one, or should I?

Shortrith: You just got back, I'll step aside so you have a chance to do CMO things again.

Beck: How are you feeling today, Ensign Ryen? Anything bothering you?

Jace: No ongoing medical concerns that I am aware of. I follow a regular training schedule and have a longstanding commitment to avoiding things that explode when possible. Working in Security admittedly reduces the likelihood of achieving that last goal.

Taj’el: The information was appreciated, though unnecessary. Everything should already have been recorded in your file.

Renaie, for a moment, was surprised as the bluntness. But they were technically right.

Beck: While our guest is technically correct, I personally still like to hear that kind of thing as a response because there is some nuance always lost. Sometimes there might be something that hasn't quite made the profile for one reason or the other.

Shortrith: ::to Ryen:: Maybe as you are fresh from the Academy, maybe your file hasn't been fully fleshed out.

Taj’el: I had noticed that the Ronin appeared to have a considerable number of security officers.

Beck: You noticed correctly. The last few missions have been harrowing, to say the least, and we have reached out already to the users ready to deploy.

Renaie stayed silent for a moment before nodding.

Ryen: Response

Taj’el: Forgive the delayed introduction. I was Lieutenant Junior Grade Taj’el of the USS Thor. I was currently on temporary reassignment for research purposes. ::Said to the new Ensign:

He let out a sigh.

Beck: In that case, I might ask you to research bedside manner and seek improvement.

Shortrith: ::genuinely:: If you'd like, I can help you work on that.

Ryen/Taj'el: Response

Smiling weakly, Doctor Beck looked from one person to another.

Beck: ::to Shortrith:: Let's make sure we're ready to go for anyone else that might wander in here today. Can you take a closer look at Mister Ryen here for us? ::to Taj'el:: Research opportunities are important, but I would appreciate you pump the brakes for a second until I can better understand just what it is you are researching.

Shortrith: Yeah, I'll have a closer look. ::To Ryen:: Mind taking a seat on the biobed?

oO I might do a psychological check in at some point too, probably. Oo

Renaie tried to smile and retrieve the medical tricorder out of my pocket.

Ryen/Taj'el: Response

Shortrith: Have you had any previous medical difficulties?

Beck/Ryen/Taj'el: Response

Shortrith: Mind if I run some diagnostic scans?

Renaie glanced over at Beck, confirming affirmation.

Beck/Ryen/Taj'el: Response

Shortrith: One moment, I'll get your results in a second.

Beck/Ryen/Taj'el: Response
