Ensign C'iri M. Hopkins- Meeting the Chief

[MOON MAN]

((Interior. U.S.S. Ronin, Deck 11. Security Complex, Briefing Room.))

After having attended the briefing presented by Commander Niac, C'iri along with many others like her that were clad in gold uniforms made their way down to the security complex section of the Ronin. Having heard what they were going to be in for in this section of space it made C'iri  both very nervous and excited about what laid ahead for both herself and the rest of the crew. Once she and the others had finally arrived  she had finally had a good look at Lt. Commander Carpenter after seeing her speak over at the conference room. 

And from what C'iri could tell based on her overall demeanor and attitude she was going to be a firm, friendly and fair Security Chief to take heed of. She had also taken notice of the large Kzinti that was close to her as well, though she had smelt his scent long before having entered the room.

Carpenter: I wanna start by saying welcome and I appreciate you bein' here. I'm Lieutenant Commander Kirsty Carpenter and I'm yer new Chief of Security and Tactical. I know I don't much look it right now, but that says more about me than it does y'all. 

C'iri was very taken aback by Carpenter's accent; she did remember hearing some of it during her four years at the academy but it was almost non-existent on her home planet. It was the little things like this that really fascinated C'iri about her human side  

oO Hmm what an odd earth accent hehe. Oo

An equally polite chuckle echoed through the new assembly and Kirsty pressed on.

Carpenter: I'll be meetin' all of ya eventually, but I want you to know that I'm around and I plan to be for the duration. If you got a problem or you need something our Quartermaster can't provide, you just come see me. I don't cop much for passin' the buck, so...I'm here. 

She cleared her throat, bringing up the map of Olidra on the room's display screen.

Carpenter: In the meantime, our first op. The Olidra System. Brass thinks the Sheliak are usin' the system as an illegal stockpile grounds for...somethin' and Cap Niac intends for us to find out the what and the where. We set out in three days. In those three days, I want a full Tactical and Security Assessment of the system. As well as any and all information we might be able to get ahold of on the ships in and out of Olidra. Holler up at the Science Department if you need to since they got the scopes and the scanners...

Out of all of the things that C'iri did not look forward to, it was encountering the Sheliak she had her fears and phobias. But the way that she remembered her father describing their brutal and unsympathetic nature just really disturbed her in a weird way and their goo-like appearances that she had seen from her time reading in the academy library didn't really do anything to ease her fears of them either. 

Carpenter: Any questions so far? 

Briza-Kar: Maybe best to run some simulations :: looking at the new ensigns:: Make sure they know the right end of the rifle? 

Even though the Kzintis voice was extremely loud it unphased C'iri as she was very accustomed to their very loud nature from the ones that came around her planet in her childhood. 

oO He looks like he'd make for a good sparring partner. I like a good challenge. Oo

Hopkins:  Lt. Commander Carpenter, do you think that the Ronin will hold up well in a fight despite being taken out of being refitted a year early. I'd figure that I'd ask about this because of the fact that she's been in service ever since the final year of the Dominion war, oh and I was also curious if we would maybe get to do some sparring with one another as a way to train us for close encounters with the enemy perhaps?

Hopkins: I've got one more question Lt. Commander Carpenter. Do you know what our schedules will look like for manning the tactical station on the bridge and what our general patrols around the ship will look like?
