Raedai: Although before beaming, we must check what kind of internal sensors they use. And what is the target, the less time in there, the less chance of detection and success.

Alieth: Proceed, Lieutenant Raedai, and beam us up when it is safer.

Syrex: Safer is preferable, without a sickbay my capabilities are limited.

Lorana: I marked several beam-in points, if you can check those against your scans that should get us to a space without radiation :: to Syrex and Alieth :: Let’s hope the scans of no lifesigns are correct. If not, the suits do have personal shielding which should give us some form of protection.

With the suit on, Alieth turned to one of the material lockers, and pulled out a reinforced tricorder, a tiny PADD encased in a security casing, and a type 1 phaser. She fastened everything to the clasp in the suit, before she turned to the two officers.

Alieth: Are they ready and fully equipped?

Luxa also gathered a PADD and a phaser.

Lorana: I am now.

Syrex: Ready when you are, commander

Alieth: Lieutenant Raedai, everything ready to beam us up?

While they were getting ready, Alidar watched the sensors, especially if anything moved apart from the Gormangander. That the Alliance, known for its xenophobia, would let those beings fly so close to their facilities was surely something that would give rise to more than one discussion among xenosociologists.

Raedai: Anytime, Commander.

He wanted to have made another comment, so that the Vulcan would maintain a healthy paranoia. But the possibility that they might not return or had no ship to return to was real enough, so it wasn't so funny.

Alieth: Beam us up.

The operations officer activated the transporter from his console making the three officers disappear. The computer confirmed that they had reached their destination, at least they had not died in the first 5 seconds.

He was left alone, accompanied by some sound from the computer. The warp drive was barely audible, the Romulan kept it at minimum power. Just enough to not have to do a “cold start” but at minimum power to avoid detection. He dimmed the lights, and turned off the consoles that were not in use. He left the ship at minimum, giving it a strange appearance, like a cave illuminated by a few torches. It brought back memories, good and bad. He tried to get rid of them, now they were of no use to him.

Now his work began. He kept the passive sensors on the Gormangander, watching how they moved and interacted with the radiation in the area. He knew that just seeing one of those creatures in life was a singular thing, but in this form, it was even stranger.

On a screen near him, he kept the vital signs from the away team, and tried to get what data he could from what was around him. He was getting data from the tricorders, but he didn't want to bring in any more power or sensor readings, to avoid setting off alarms. The silence of the Rhine was interrupted by the away team's conversation, he kept it in the background as he worked on what the Gormangander's were doing, they seemed to be heading for a particular section of the station's exterior.

He reviewed the active scans he had done earlier with the probes, when what they were looking for were targets to attack or neutralize, but he had been able to map the exterior and some of the interior of the station well. The probes had one last mission, one that would save their asses when the time came, so he couldn't use them to get information.

The cosmozoans were heading for an exit port, where there was Sencha radiation. It was not like when they shot it from a ship, it was a more natural output, less focused and mixed with Alpha particles, which were usually found in the solar winds. These beings were not there by chance.

His thoughts were interrupted by something that caught his attention in the conversation at the away team.

Lorana: =/\=Sencha Niac. They’re holograms! =/\=

Alidar looked at the data coming from the tricorders. Photon beams toward the away team. But no effect on them.

Alidar: =/\= Rhine to away team, they have indeed encountered holograms, but the security protocols are activated. It must not be a security system, nothing else seems to have been activated. =/\=

If it was, one of the ships on the other station would be on top of them in a few minutes and it would all be over.

Syrex/Alieth: response

Alidar: =/\= Try not to damage the system, if there is any problem I could notify the station. Also I can inform you that this complex seems to be attracting the Gormangander with Alpha particles to an outer area with high concentration of Sencha radiation. I do not know the purpose at this time. =/\=

He reported them, there was little else he could do except beam them out of there.

Syrex/Alieth/Lorana: response

Alidar: =/\= I will do my best.=/\=

Syrex/Alieth/Lorana: response
