Niac: I may have, without confirming or denying anything of course, enjoyed a pint or two of your Symbiote Stout. I do have a few notes about the name, though…
The captain waggled his eyebrows. Gideon wasn’t sure if it was a warning or something else.
Niac: But I agree with you that the morale of the crew is well served by your efforts here. If you take my meaning. Now, what seems to be the problem? I was an operations officer for a lot of years before I decided to let other people have all the fun...I may have helped put one or two of these together myself.
Morrow: It’s the flow regulator; it’s been a bit twitchy. ::he gave a one-shoulder shrug::
Niac chuckled as he looked back at one of the crates.
Niac: Well, Mr. Morrow, there is more than one way to quench your thirst aboard a starship...I don't suppose you have a few glasses down here? Since we're just two people standing around not talking about anything in particular, it occurs to me that we should do all we can to avoid dehydration...and as I said, I was an operations officer for a long time. I know how to lose a crate when I need to. And being the Captain does come with certain privileges.
Jack gave a slightly crooked grin and reached behind one of the consoles for two glasses
Morrow: I keep these on hand for…::he looked around conspiratorially:: testing..
The Captain laughed as he walked back to one of the crates and thumbed the keypad. A side door opened with a slight hissing sound. From Jack’s vantage point, he saw quite the collection of multi-colored bottles, which looked like a large alcohol collection, and as long as the Captian bad been around, and that’s not taking in his symbiont’s life-times.
Niac: So what's your poison, Mr. Morrow? See anything in particular that catches your eye?
Morrow: While I produce beer, bourbon is where it’s at, and I’m working on gear for that as well. But that’s a project for another time.
Jack put down the two glasses and looked over the variety.
Niac: Response
He watched as the Captain reached in and pulled a bottle out, pouring the dark amber liquid into the two glasses that Jack had retrieved.
Morrow: So what do we have here? ::he examined his glass::
Niac: Response
Jack chuckled and then gave him a semi-serious look.
Morrow: You know that’s banned in three quadrants, right? ::he smirked::
While Jack hadn’t had much interaction with the Captain, the ship's lawyer usually didn’t unless it was Captain's mass or other disciplinary reasons. And par for the course when it came to Jack’s life, this didn’t surprise him in the least bit. He had a certain line of ‘luck’ for the lack of a better term. Like the fact that Ronin is his first ship assignment, and he was a lieutenant jg, he’d been around. And assuming things like the executive officer, reading in the captain.
Niac: Response
Morrow: I’m joking, seriously though, I do have an in with the FCA, who helped us out. Thankfully, it didn’t escalate into a firefight. I had to rerecord my logs several times, as it was a bit complicated.
Niac: Response
