((Aft Chamber, Cosmozoan))

Wren: This is…… incredible. Commander, are y-?

Delphina seemed to stop midsentence.

Raga: Response

Shortrith: What's it like?

Wren: ::To anyone not connected:: It’s sort of like…. I’m connected to Raga, and we’re both connected to the Narhelion. It doesn’t hurt, it’s….. It’s fascinating to me. I’ve never experienced anything like this.

Shortrith: That's fascinating.

Venn: Yes, it is amazing. I have never felt anything like this. I’ve heard of my people doing group mind links, but it’s extremely rare and extremely personal, so I’ve never heard what they experience, but this…

Raga: Responses

Wren: ::pointing to parts of the console:: This is translating atmospheric readings, and this part up here is out estimate speed. I can't decipher what the speed is, since I don't know the unit of measurement, but.... ::excited:: These blobs over here are the other away teams!

Shortrith: That's good!

Raga: Responses

Waiting patiently, they began to bounce on the balls of their feet in anticipation.

Shortrith: What's it saying?

Another pause while communication occurred.

Raga: Response

Wren: She’s… oh, she’s trying to fix Tiny Predator. I think when she defended herself earlier the ship got caught in the crossfire.

Venn: It’s trying to make contact with Tiny Predator.

Shortrith: As in… Hail the captain?

Renaie glanced over to the others, before opening a comm channel on their commbadge to the bridge. It was better than standing around to do nothing.

oO Please be there please be there please be there… Oo

Narhelion: Hello, Tiny Predator.

Niac: =/\= And hello to you...whomever you are. My name is Karrod...and our ship is the Ronin. We are not a predator...we have no desire to harm you. We wish to make peaceful contact. Can you understand us? =/\=

Shortrith: =/\= ::with a nod:: Captain. I've got the comms open on my commbadge. =/\=

Wren: ::alert:: =/\= We’ve made contact with the Narhelion, sh- =/\=

Raga: Response

Renaie imagined Niac standing in front of the Captain's chair, scowling at the viewscreen, as he was when they initially met him on their first day on the ship.

Narhelion: Narhelion apologizes to Tiny Predator’s fuzzy Caretaker. Narhelion did not realize Tiny Predator Ronin fragility.

Niac:  =/\= Narhelion?  Is that your name...or the name of your ship?  Either way 'fuzzy caretaker' thanks you, Narhelion.  We did not believe you damaged us purposefully.  Your energy transfer is also appreciated but doesn't appear to be compatible with our systems...I don't suppose you'd mind deactivating it?  =/\=

The Klingon stayed silent as they remained unsure of what to say.

Raga: Responses

Narhelion: Narhelion has a request. Narhelion is last of my kind. Would Tiny Predator’s fuzzy Caretaker permit Narhelion to take some of Tiny Predator to make a new Narhelion?

Renaie's eyes skyrocketed in surprised at they realised exactly what Narhelion was meaning.

Narhelion: =/\= Caution. Narhelion has detected approaching. Many more angry crystals and unknown vessels with them. Primary offensive armament still healing. Secondary and tertiary armaments are functional but remain in hibernation state. Primary and secondary defensive functions offline and in hibernation state. Recommend hibernation rescindment as soon as possible. =/\=

The counsellor's face morphed into a mix of sadness and horror as they realised that Tholians were coming back, and they tried to give Narhelion a soothing pat as a somber wail emanated from somewhere inside her. They gave a potential warning look to the others in the chamber.

Narhelion: =/\= Please. Narhelion does not want to expire. =/\=

Niac: =/\= We don't want you to expire either, Narhelion. We came to convince you to leave this area of space...but it's too late for that now. Please...wait just a moment. =/\=

Shortrith: If it's any comfort, my friend, I don't think any of us want you to.

Venn: Incoming!

Wren: ::Remembering various lessons from her mothers:: I’m initiating an adrenaline rush to block out the worst of the pain. Internal injury, not sure why, there’s damage to the interior ::pointing:: here and here. The fetus is here ::pointing elsewhere:: , it’s far enough away from whatever happened so it’s not been harmed but we need to generate a wall of hard, naturally calcified tissue over the chamber it’s located in just in case something else happens. I’m kickstarting that process.

Renaie was slightly taken aback at how much Delphina knew. oO How are you not a medic? Oo

Raga/Narhelion: Response

Kel: =/\= Kel to Raga. The creature's been hit by some kind of missile. I'm standing in the middle of a massive wound. What's your situation? =/\=

Raga: =/\= Response =/\=

De La Croix: =/\= Well that's all very nice for you then but we have a patient here who needs immediate care or this wound could be fatal. I was already detecting decreasing levels of cellular energy in this whole area and now...much of this tissue is dead or dying. If this creature is to survive we'll need significant resources...uh...hello...ship? Madam Narhelion I presume? I want to help you but I'll need quite a few things from our vessel to even get a start on it. =/\=

oO Do what you can, Doc. Oo

Shortrith: How can we help you?

Renaie was determined to help however they could. It didn't matter that they weren't telepathic. They wanted to help.

Wren: I’ve shored up the baby as much as I can, and- ::pulling her PADD out:: I’m taking this out of airplane mode. The captain now has a visual of her life signs, she gave permission.

Raga/Narhelion: Response

Shortrith: I'm not sure how much we could do, but I'm willing to help however I can to settle this issue, and make sure you turn out okay.

Venn seemed to be communicating with Narhelion, and Renaie glanced to the others while trying to figure out what to do.

Raga/Narhelion: Response

Venn: =/\= Captain, Lieutenant Venn here. How is the ship? Are the forces overwhelming, or is there a chance to resist? I am trying to convince Narhelion to help resist, but it is very wounded. =/\=

Wren: ::leaving her PADD plugged in and hurrying over to another console:: =/\= Her weapons system is reacting badly to the internal damage, until she has that repaired I don’t see her pulling of another full-frontal attack like before.

Niac: =/\= Response =/\=

Shortrith: If she's damaged, she might struggle to make it through the attack. She's already struggling from the initial assault.

oO Narhelion, please… you'll be okay. I have faith in you that you'll make it. Oo

Kel/Raga/Narhelion: Responses

Tucker: =/\= We’ve lost Doctor Beck. =/\=

At that, Renaie whirled around, a look of abject horror on their face.

Shortrith: =/\= Sorry, sir, you said what? =/\=

First, Alyndra had left to work for The Farm.

Then, Dr Beck had worked with Division 14 for a couple of months. But he was still… Starfleet still knew where he was.

Nobody knew where the CMO was now.

Was he dead? Was he kidnapped? What happened?

What was going to happen with the medical team?

… What were they going to tell the others if they didn't even know the whole story?

oO Calm down, Renaie. You have a job to do. You can't just drop everything just because your department chief disappeared. Oo

Narhelion/Kel/Raga: =/\= Response =/\=

oO Buckle up, dude, you've got a whole load of things to unpack. Oo

Renaie's feelings on Dr Beck's disappearance had to wait.

They had a different job to do.

[End Act 2 For Shortrith]
