((Sickbay, Deck 10, USS Ronin))
Rox: ::setting a cup down on the chief surgeon's desk:: No foam skim latte with an extra shot. Did I get it right?
De La Croix: Next time use Andorian goats milk dear, much better for the skin. You could use some yourself. And do stand up straight...you're not doing your chest any favors.
Rox instinctively straightened glancing down at her chest. Bringing the new doctor coffee had not been an overwhelming success. Rox was sure they could be friends, she just needed to draw Thess out a bit. She'd done it with Peri, she could do it with Thess. For the moment she put on a happy face.
Rox: I will note that for the future.
De La Croix: You may go now.
Rox sat down at a nearby station and took a sip of her beverage. She had thought about starting the day with a blue squale given how quiet the preceding days had been. However, as she was leaving her quarters, the ship went to yellow alert. Day drinking was likely out of the question synthahol or not.
Rox: Is this your first yellow alert Dr. De La Croix?
De La Croix: Oh is that what that racket was about earlier? I just thought someone decided the ship needed a pop of color. I wouldn't have gone with yellow myself. If it was anything truly important I'm certain the Captain would've called me before resorting to a light show.
Rox: I don't know they don’t tell me anything. They'll let us know when they need us.
De La Croix: 'Alert Condition 2, defensive systems on standby active, atypical spatial conditions in...'
Rox waved her hand dismissively.
Rox: If we were under attack we'd be shaking a lot more and stuff would fall from the ceiling. V'Len probably just saw a comet heading our way and got excited.
De La Croix: V'Len? I didn't realize you were on a first name basis with the acting captain. Wait...is he the one with the beard or the one with the antenna? I didn't pay either of them much attention.
Rox froze. She always called V'Len "V'Len", unless they were facing some crisis in sickbay. She was also not pleased that Thess didn't seem to know who was who on the Ronin. It was going to take some work to get her to come around.
Rox: Commander Kel is the Tilldorian. I'm sure you'd find his file quite interesting. He had a transporter accident and he also has a cardio-inducer.
De La Croix: I see. How very interesting. What else can you tell me about him?
Rox: Loves fungus, but not in an weird way. He respects other people's opinions.
De La Croix: Well in that case he'll certain to listen to me, one Doctor to another, better Doctor.
Rox rose slowly and walked back to the desk where Thess sat.
Rox: Dr. La Croix I respect you a great deal. I would love to learn from you. ::beat:: But do not be condescending about the men and women serving on this ship.
De La Croix: Response
Rox leaned in closer.
Rox: I have seen V'Len up to his elbows in another crewmember while the lights were flickering around him. You may have a lot of letters behind your name, but when shit hits the fan we'll see how you stack up.
De La Croix: Response
Rox pushed herself up from the desk and turned to walk back to the station she'd been at.
Rox: Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
De La Croix: Response
