((ooc: Got a lot of narrative at the start of this to set the scene for how things have progressed since Act 1.)) (( FOP Warrior Sports, Commercial Sector, Beta Module ))

A ragged Al-Leyan leaned against the command console in the center of the FOP with his palms braced on the console itself to mask his fatigue and wounds. At least one bruised rib plagued him for the last two hours after a barely successful defense of the fighter bay in Delta module when the LA managed to breach it with a shuttle. Dozens of work crews were killed or badly wounded before they’d managed to get a response team there. It was a big station and even with hundreds of officers working to defend it they had limitations.

Hand to hand with a Tholian had led to them exchanging blows and while he’d managed to crack open their exosuit in the fray, his left rib cage had taken a beating.

Their initial beachhead in the entrance vestibule had been a momentary lull and success. In the hours since they’d fought nearly three dozen engagements across the station. At first, it had been centralized to the docking ports and airlocks that the Alliance attempted to breach and dealing with those that had managed to finally breach the Jeffries’ tubes from areas they already occupied. Hard fighting all of it.

That was until the station first lost its shields. It had only been for a few minutes but in that time dozens of groups of Tholian and Sheliak forces had beamed on board the station. Their prescient use of transport inhibitors had prevented them from materializing directly into or near key areas. No fewer than three assaults on the Command Center, one on engineering and two at the central commercial sector in an attempt to take out their FOP had been repelled but at a cost. Two of the adjoining shops had been converted into triage centers for the wounded of theirs that could not be brought to Sickbay.

Since then, they’d had three other moments where the station’s shields had dropped in sections of the station before they were restored that enabled more reinforcements to be beamed aboard.

He stared at the schematics of the station, with their real time sensor feeds from what internal sensors still worked and their sensor pods that hadn’t yet been discovered and destroyed.

Seiuri Team had taken a momentary reprieve back at the FOP to rest up from their last skirmish. So far the new Ensigns had comported themselves admirably and Toryn was proud of all of them.

Raga: They’ve taken over half of the station, but no key areas yet thankfully. We’re still cut off from the Gamma module, Epsilon, Prophet, and Zeta teams are still holding but barely. Chief, any word from the units sent to break through?

Kiran: Response

He nodded safely, despite the sour taste in his mouth. They’d tried to push through that line for the last hour and a half and hadn’t. And what’s worse, they only had one working sensor feed from the area.

Raga: Damn, alright. We need to break through for the sake of the wounded. ::He turned to regard T’Fearne:: Ensign, were you able to confirm whether or not the Alliance has set up their own FOP in the Observatory in Alpha Module?

T’Fearne: Response

Toryn was certain the alliance had managed to set up their own Command center on the station to coordinate their attacks locally, but they hadn’t yet been able to confirm since the possibility had first occurred to them.

Raga: Well, that’s something at least. We’ll have to see what personnel we can direct towards that. ::To Valo:: Were you able to redeploy those force field emitters to the breach points in the promenade?

Valo: Response

The Tholians had managed to assault significantly through the commercial sector before being repelled, but they still held onto two shops on the port side. It had forced them to redeploy some of their own fortifications to shore up the defenses in that area. The echo of high energy phaser fire could still be heard outside. Osiris and his fellow marksmen were busy still picking off units attempting to recon their positions.

Raga: Understood. Breeze, what’s your assessment of their position? Do you think we can counter assault their forward foothold and push them back out of the promenade?

Briza-Kar: Response

He’d barely nodded at Kzinti's answer, much less began to formulate his own response when he heard Snowball’s voice over the comm again.

Singh: =/\= Snowball to Raga...we're targeting the boarding craft nearest your location.  Advise you to keep your heads down, decompression warning.  Twenty seconds to strike.  =/\=

Raga: =/\=  Raga here, Snowball. Please do, it’s bad enough they’re beaming in whenever the shield’s buckle. We had to give up on Docking Port two hours ago. When you’re done with that, think you could hit the airlock near the Mebay on the Gamma module? We can’t break through because they keep reinforcing their lines there from that airlock. =/\=

Singh: =/\= Understood Commander, we'll make that our secondary target.  Larger Alliance vessels are keeping a perimeter and they're trying to attrition down the stations defenses.  We've lost fifteen percent of our fighters and several runabouts but we've knocked down at least five times that number.  They just keep coming and we're running low on ordinance.  =/\=

Raga: =/\=  Copy that, Snowball. I owe you and all your pilots ice cream and drinks when this is over. =/\= ::He quickly tapped the LCARs in front of him for a station wide alert. =/\= Raga to all hands, incoming friendly strike on Docking Port 2, brace for impact and decompression. Ten seconds. =/\=

He heard a curse from Snowball and understood, he could only imagine how intense things were out there, considering how hard they’d been pushing themselves inside the station.

Singh:  =/\= Snowball copies, strike inbound.  =/\=

The station jostled a bit, which forced him to brace a little as Docking port 2 as in another module, but the impact and likely destruction of a transport ship rocked the whole station. Even still the lights flickered and a lighting element near the door erupted in sparks from a power surge.

Singh: =/\= Good shooting Scuttles.  Snowball to Raga, target destroyed.  They won't be using that airlock again.  What's your status?  =/\=

Raga: =/\= We’re in one piece, but we’re getting hit hard here. The Alliance has taken half the station, but nothing critical yet. Keep up the good work. We just need a little more time. Our ship is coming and when they do I expect you and yours to raise hell with them. =/\=

Singh: =/\= Response =/\=

Raga: =/\= Understood, Raga out. =/\= ::He looked at those around him:: Everyone alright?

Valo/Breeze/T’Fearne/Kiran: Response

Raga: Good, hopefully that will reduce the reinforcements they can reinforce with…

A feline roar echoed an alarm from outside the storefront they were within, which preceded the sounds of an explosion and dozens of weapon discharges. The Alliance was assaulting their position again, in force.

Raga: Dammit, to the barricades.

He barked out already in mid sprint towards the door, rifle pulled from where it had hung at his back to be wielded and pressed at his shoulder ready for a fight. They’d managed to restock their EMP and other munitions as they had a stockpile in the FOP and yet those were dwindling. They had enough for maybe another hour and then it would be solely their sidearms and rifles. At least they had enough power cells to hold out for a while still. Toryn had rearmed with a case on his back that he thankfully hadn’t needed to deploy yet.

Valo/Breeze/T’Fearne/Kiran: Response

Toryn ran along the upper balcony of the promenade and followed the sounds of fighting towards the port side of the marketplace. En route he passed by Osiris, who’s rifle fired in quick, but measured shots. He knew that with each beam that burst from that long barrel an enemy fell to the sniper’s hits.

He came to a stop with a grunt of pain near a barricade on the upper level that overlooked the battlefield. Easily three dozen Tholians and Sheliak fired upon their lines as they attempted to break through yet again. So much for a counter assault.

Raga: Hold the line!!! ::He shouted while opening fire on the front ranks:: They’re not breaking through.

Valo/Breeze/T’Fearne/Kiran: Response

A loud series of bursts made him wince as his left ear was buffeted by the sounds of a heavy phaser cannon they’d deployed on the upper level once the Tholians had gained a foothold in the promenade. The intense nadion bursts slammed into several Tholians with enough force to send them teetering backwards and blasted through their suits. Toryn only wished they had more of the things. In total they had eight such cannons and only two were on the Promenade. The rest had to be set up in other key positions, such as outside Medbay. One was down for repair and one had been destroyed when the Entrance Vestibule fell.

Toryn fired down at the assaulting force, his precise beams slammed into a Sheliak’s torso several times before it fell. He wasted no time in shifting targets to a Tholian, five beams slammed into its exo-suit enough to cause it to explode. Which thankfully caught two others in the blast. Sadly, their suits seemed to be resistant to their own detonations.

Raga: Don’t let them get to the upper level!

Valo/Breeze/T’Fearne/Kiran: Response
