How Marty found himself here, he wasn’t sure; well, he knew why, but was it really necessary? He was ready to head down to the surface, hopefully meet up with Rox, and enjoy some time off. Lieutenant Morgan could handle things in his absence.
So there he was, standing in front of the XO’s desk. At the same time, he was at attention, nothing like Evinrude, who was ramrod straight. It looked as though it was going to pull a hammy just standing there.
Raga: Response
Marty listened to the Commander talk but could help himself and leaned over to O’Connor and whispered in his ear.
Tucker: ::just above a whisper::Is it me, or is Evinrude going to break something?
O'Connor: Response
Tess took a small, rigid step forward.
Evinrude: Yes sir, I can confirm--
A chime sounded at the XO's door.
Raga: Response
And in walked Fleet Captain Niac. Evinrude stepped aside with a crisp - if perhaps a bit panicked - return to attention.
Niac: Response
Tucker: I’ve assembled a team that includes myself, Lieutenant Morgan, and a few of our top techs. I feel it’s going to take some time to reverse engineer or figure out how they put the damn things together. Although it’s inactive and largely inoperable, we’re keeping it in a level five containment field. Just to be safe.
Niac/Evinrude/O'Connor/Raga: Response
Marty shifted weight from foot to foot, as they talked and he listened. As far as he was concerned, the Consortium needed to be hunted down, even in the darker corners of the galaxy. They’d show up again; it was just a matter of time. Nothing they do is by chance.
Tucker: I hate the fact that we’re going to sit around until they do it again. It’s not like we’ve made any friends with the Consortium, that’s for sure..
Niac/Evinrude/O'Connor/Raga: Response
