Cerisor: I have to say, Captain. The science team must be having a hell of a day with this place.
The Captain turned to him, apparently drawn in by the splendor of the view. Rylar could certainly understand, stopping by almost every window and viewport he passed since leaving the Ronin.
Niac: I think they're already looking for apartments. At this rate getting back to Federation space will be the easy part...dislodging them from this...astonishing place will be a lot more challenging. Can't say I blame them.
Cerisor: ::smiling:: Nor can I, Captain. It's an astounding place that I'm sure the science division will be picking apart for several years. While it would be a shame to leave, I'm looking forward to resuming our regular duties as well. I hope that will be soon.
The Captain smiled at him, and Rylar found himself once again thankful that the Trill was so personable.
Niac: But that's the life for us, Mr. Cerisor. Trust your ship, trust your crewmates...they're the ones that'll keep you going. We never quite know where the journey will take us...but I think I prefer it that way.
Cerisor: ::Turning back to look out of the viewing platform:: I... I think so too, Captain.
A silence fell over the pair as they gazed out. A pod of creatures that filled the subspace zone, Cosmozoans, floated along. Rylar wondered what it was like from their perspective, floating unencumbered along the aether like an ocean creature. Without turning to him, Captain Niac spoke again.
Niac: Welcome to the Ronin, Ensign. I suspect you'll find your time on the Ronin...memorable.
Cerisor: Thank you, Captain. I hope to do right by you and the Ronin.
And with that, they fell silent. Rylar decided he could spare a few more minutes of looking out the window with the Captain before reporting back to the sickbay.
