((Poolside, The Farm, Endicronimas V))
It was calm. In Renaie's opinion, it was too calm. They didn't like it when it was too calm. Calm, for them, either meant people were dead, or something was about to go wrong.
They missed the Astraeus dance parties in quiet sickbay. They had to be honest, they missed their friends.
They missed the way things were.
Truth be told, Renaie didn't particularly like it on The Farm. They wanted to do something.
Shortrith: ::To themself:: What can I actually do…
They were slowly interrupted by a voice they'd only recently come into contact with.
O'Connor: Woah, sorry Ensign. I almost ran into you.
Shortrith: Oh! Greetings, Commander. I… Many condolences about your friend.
O'Connor: Uh, thank you Ensign.
Shortrith: How are you doing with everything? ::pauses:: Apologies for my annoyance, I'm just not the biggest fan of being here.
The Lieutenant Commander chuckled slightly before speaking again.
O'Connor: I hear that Ensign. I’m not either…and to answer your question. Pretty crappy. I was actually going to try to find you later in your professional capacity.
Renaie tried to give him a sympathetic look.
Shortrith: Do you want to talk about it now?
O'Connor: No, no. It can wait. I don’t think this issue is going anywhere for a while.
Shortrith: Okay, I'm pretty easy to find, though, when you do need me.
O'Connor: Hey, I don’t suppose you play zero-grav Australian Rules pickle-rugby?
Shortrith: Nope, I've heard of it though. People played it a lot when I was in high school.
O'Connor: Me neither, but it sounds like a great way to blow off some steam and get the mind off other things. What do ya say?
Shortrith: Yeah, why not. It'll be a nice break from everything, won't it?
O'Connor: Response
Shortrith: I suppose we'll have to read up on the rules then, won't we?
O'Connor: Response
Shortrith: Yeah. It'll be something new for both of us.
O'Connor: Response
