((XO's Office, Deck 3, USS Ronin, Lolagi IV))

Shore leave. It was the thing that most if not all crews looked forward to, particularly following a rough, dangerous or traumatic mission which in Starfleet was easily Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

It was a time to let the crews unwind, a handful of the more studious or dutiful to catch up on work the previous mission might have put them behind on, or otherwise try and process recent events in their own ways. Counseling session appointments were usually considerably higher during periods of leave than mid mission. Some tried to dig themselves out from under a pile of overdue reports, others to work on side projects and most to just be carefree.

Toryn was a mix of all of the above. He could wait to find a place to climb, and had a padd on his desk with detailed scans from stellar cartography and their geology Prot-se for him to review before settling on a choice mountain to scale at some point.

A small wisp of steam drifted up from the mug of Al-Leyan spiced tea beside the computer monitor he was studying. Displayed on it were the recent reports from the crew, proposals from the various department heads submitted for projects for their teams that were awaiting his review and approval, progress reports about the state of repairs to the ship, the support craft and medical reports from the patients they’d rescued who were being treated for radiation exposure.

The middle of the screen was taken up by a strategic report about the state of the war in the Isles. A Lattice Alliance strike group reported nearing a Federation penal station exclusively or there abouts for Tholian and Sheliak POWs, with a note about the Khitomer being nearby.

Several brief confrontations with L.A. ships and non-aligned merchant traffic, with mixed results for both sides. A minor victory from Starfleet Marines in extricating Alliance forces from a small colony just outside the Federation border in the isles.

Some of the reports were less than pleasant to read. Toryn’s glowing cerulean eyes scanned over a length after action report and casualty lists from two different engagements near DS33. With the Alliance claiming more space from the Federation and unaffiliated locals. He pulled up the updated conflict map and after these two engagements it brought their controlled space closer to the sector DS33 was in on two more flanks. Part of him winced at the possibility they might be gearing for another push on the starbase, but at least they were holding their own and even managed to reclaim a sector.

Toryn was about halfway through the strategic reports when his display flashed with an incoming security alert. He had it set up to notify him whenever one came in. His finger drifted up to dismiss the alert but froze when he caught the words ‘involved parties detained.’ Normally he’d let the Chief of Security handle things, but they’d not even been in orbit for a full day and some of their crew had gotten into an altercation.

The Al-Leyan quickly read over the security report from the surface and scowled. The two names, Roxanne Queen and Thessalonia De La Croix, somehow didn’t surprise him. Scuttlbutt was a powerful force and while he’d not met the surgeon yet her reputation amongst the crew was not a kind one.

Toryn rose out of his chair and headed for the transporter room.

Raga: =/\= Raga to Kessler and Beck. I just saw the incoming security report from the surface. I’m heading down to find out just what in the winds happened. Care to join me? Since it involves two members of your department Quentin, I imagine you’ll want to join tag along. I’m on my way to transporter room two. =/\=

Kessler/Beck: =/\= Response =/\=

((Secured Reflection Suite and Contemplation Cell, Harmony Shores Collaborative Resort))

The walk through the resort’s security was not something he had expected to be doing, especially when they’d only been here for less than twenty four hours. The local security therapists, which was an entirely strange concept to the Al-Leyan, had led them to a waiting room for them to rest for the time being. Apparently, the brig here was sort of a therapeutic chamber of some sort. Stranger and Stranger.

Raga: Well, it’s not the first time this crew has gotten up to, what’s the word going around scuttlebutt? Roniningans? It’s not the first time, nor do I expect it will be the last. I’m concerned that it was an altercation between Ronins. It’s one thing to get into a bar brawl with strangers. We’ve been through too much as a crew for me to let something like this be. ::he smiled slightly:: But I don’t want you to feel like I’m stepping on your shoes, Lieutenant. You’ve done an exemplary job with Tac/Sec since your arrival.

Kessler: Response

Raga: This is certainly unlike any security complex I’ve been to before. And security therapists? Can’t say I ever thought of combining our Protes before.

Kessler/Beck: Response

Raga: According to the report, Rox took a swing at doctor De La Croix and it avalanched from there.

Kessler/Beck: Response

((ooc: Feel free to expand here as you like to fill in until the ladies arrive.))

Toryn could hear the voices of the two women that had been detained and as they neared the waiting room. To his surprise there was no shouting or shrieking about how terrible one or the other was, so he supposed that was something. Toryn reclined slightly in the couch he’d chosen to sit on as the door opened, his reflective glowing eyes stared right at Rox and Thessalonia a few seconds each before shifting back to the other, framed by his long black hair. A First Officerly look of disappointment stoically adorned his face. He said nothing, letting either of the two of them speak first should they wish.

Rox/De La Croix: Response

Kessler/Beck: Response

Toryn crossed his arms over his chest but remained silent for the moment.

Kessler/Beck/Rox/De La Croix: Response

Raga: Hmm? Oh, I was merely pondering whether or not the Captain still has the get along bracelets he received from GottCo last leave. Or if perhaps a shirt that says ‘Our get along shirt’ can be replicated big enough for the two of you to wear side by side. ::he smiled mischievously and waved a hand:: I’m sure the Captain and I can come up with something later. But for the sake of clarity, I am disappointed. Not mad.

Which was true. When he was mad, nearby furniture tended to pay the price.

Kessler/Beck/Rox/De La Croix: Response
