((Bridge, Deck 3, USS Ronin))

The Al-Leyan nodded and looked up to meet V’Len’s gaze as the second officer entered the bridge.

Raga: Good to see you got some sun, Commander. At least someone got to enjoy a party this leave.

Toryn smirked as he said the well deserved rank. Head been a little hurt that he’d not been invited to the festivities regarding the Trilldorian’s promotion, but he’d been the one manning the bridge during that time. And he was proud of his friend for reaching this accolade in his career.

Kel:  I' m sorry all you got was disciplinary problems from Sickbay.  :: walking over to where Raga stood::  Where are we heading in such a hurry?

Kessler: Commander's ::nodding to each as he approached:: Where's the fire?

She shrugged and gestured back at the helm.

Nicolau:  Not sure sir...sirs...all the Captain gave me was a set of coordinates we're supposed to head for at maximum warp.  Do you know what's going on Commander..s?

Toryn smiled at his friend but shrugged his shoulders slightly. In his experience when missions were ‘need to know' that meant that Starfleet Intelligence was involved somehow. Which could mean that they were about to fly into any number of problematic scenarios.

Raga: Not sure, but it’s need to know. The Captain’s going to fill us in once everyone’s on board and we’re underway. Same for the usual ceremony. We’re doing it en route. A bit unusual for us barring distress calls, so whatever it is Starfleet Command has us doing it must be urgent. And the secrecy suggests SFI is in the loop.

Kel: ::unenthusiastic::  Great. ::pause::  Pity for the crew.  I had hoped to see some of them awarded for their performance on the Ross-580 disaster.

Toryn nodded in agreement but wasn’t worried. He knew he and Karrod would make sure everyone was recognized for their efforts.

Kessler: ::nodding:: Or at least letting them get a little more fresh air.

Their helmswoman chimed in with what he assumed was the most important reason for staying on leave to her.

Nicolau: Or a few more cocktails...they mixed them strong down there...uh..sirs.

Seeing her cheeks flush Toryn smirked while she composed herself.

Kel: Where are we headed?

Kessler: Any threat analysis I should be running Commander?

Madalain gestured towards the helm console and turned back to the assembled officers.

Nicolau:  We're supposed to be intercepting a Starfleet vessel already in transit...the USS Goodall.  Apparently they've been pushing their engines for days...we're not even supposed to decelerate to meet up.

Raga: Correct. In fact, the Captain wants us to go to maximum warp the instant we break orbit.

Any: Response

Kel: ::shrugging his shoulders::  Not a vessel I'm familiar with.

Kessler: Nor have I heard of it Commander. Seems like we have spooks coming to dinner.

Nicolau: Ghosts?  Like those candle ghost things?  After our last mission I really hoped we get something easier.

Toryn gave the helmswoman an even look with a raised brow but decided not to read into why the mention of spooks made her think of candles possessed by lascivious energy beings.

Raga: Knowing our luck, Lieutenant, I imagine it’ll be more complicated, not less. But yes, the classified nature of things does lend credence to us having some guests from Intelligence.

Any: Response

Kel: Looks like we've got about 80% of the crew back aboard.  Still missing Commander Tucker.

Toryn raised a brow slightly at that.

Kessler: Offensive and defensive systems at your ready Commander. Back up systems are showing at peak readiness if needed from a Tactical point.

Nicolau: Impulse and warp drives are both standing ready sir. Impulse reactor 3 had some power fluctuations yesterday but engineering believes it was just a bad relay. Diagnostics read clear, sir.

Raga: Understood. Thank you miss, Nicolau. As soon as the head count confirms the entire crew is accounted for, break orbit and take us to warp nine. ::he sat down in the center chair:: The ship is as ready as she’ll ever be from the sounds of it. ::he tapped =/\= Bridge to mister Tucker. I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but we’re going to be needing to make a swift departure. The Captain wanted me to let you know we’ll be going to maximum warp the instant we break orbit. =/\=

Any/Tucker: Response

Kessler: Agreed Commander.

Nicolau:  Just crossed ninety percent sir.  If you'd like we could leave early and give the last ten percent a little extra leave time?

The Al-Leyan’s brow raised slightly and he smirked at her request. He was certain several of the crew would enjoy that for a time.

Raga: And deprive them of the same trouble we’re about to have?

Kel/Any: Response

Kessler: Well, you know me. I sometimes just stumble into trouble.

The attempt from their helmswoman to poorly conceal her giggle with a cough elicited a chuckle from Toryn.

Nicolau: Sorry sir...very...uh...dusty...at my station....

Raga: Oh, well then I’ll be sure to reprimand mister O’Connor when he gets back and have him retake remedial workspace cleanliness training upon his return.

Kel/Any: Response

Kessler: ::turning back to his console:: I always aim to misbehave if I can. I mean behave.

Toryn’s head tilted slightly and one brow raised at Kessler as Nicolau pivoted in her chair to observe their Security chief.

Nicolau: Are you ok Lieutenant? Like...in your face? I can get a medical team up here if you're smelling burnt toast.

Raga: I don’t think that’ll be necessary, Lieutenant. After all, I’m sure there’s all manner of probes and diagnostic bits as the Captain might say, in the bridge medkit that Commander Kel can use to make sure the Chief is medically fit. Isn’t that right, V’Len?

Kel/Kessler/Nicolau/Any: Response

Various chirps from the bridge stations signalled the various arriving crew checking in with their departments and he glanced down at the display on the armrest to see that the last stragglers were beaming aboard in the next minute or so.

Raga: Well, if you do start smelling burnt rhombuses let us know so we can make sure it’s not just the captain destroying the galley.

His lips curled into an impish grin at his comment and Toryn glanced over at the helm.

Kel/Kessler/Nicolau/Any: Response

Raga: Very well. Are each of the departments reporting ready status?

Kel/Kessler/Nicolau/Any: Response

Toryn rose from the center chair and adjusted the uniform jacket with a brief Picard maneuver while he walked over to the helm to stand beside Nicolau. A hand rested on the back of her chair.

Raga: Good. If you’d be so kind as to take us out of orbit Lieutenant?

Kel/Kessler/Nicolau/Any: Response

Raga: =/\= Bridge to the Captain. We’re breaking orbit and all departments have reported in. Despite miss Nicolau’s suggestion of letting the stragglers enjoy an extended leave without us we are all present and accounted for. And en route to the Goodall. =/\=

As he spoke Lolagi IV drifted out of view of the viewscreen, replaced by the starry blackness of the galaxy. Those same stars blurred into streaks as the Ronin jumped into warp the instant she’d cleared the atmosphere of the planet that had provided respite and much needed relaxation for their crew.

Niac/Kel/Kessler/Nicolau/Any: Response

Toryn looked over his shoulder at Kessler.

Raga: Mister Kessler, if you’d be so kind as to inform the Goodall via secured subspace message that we’re departing? And will rendezvous with them….miss Nicolau, how long until we catch up to the Goodall?

Niac/Kel/Kessler/Nicolau/Any: Response
