(( Corridors, Deck 1, Main Compartment, DS33
A trio of loud explosions went off down the right corridor, away from the airlock and near the stairs. Rork took immediate notice and was thankful that they hadn’t been detected. The ones that could’ve reported back were immediately dispatched. He was worried about the grenades; they were throwing plasma grenades like a dime a dozen.
Raga: =/= Damn, they just overran the position by the starboard stairs with plasma grenades. Secondary lines watch your flank. Kiran, we’re being pincered. If you’re going to push that airlock, we may not be able to cover you. =/=
T’Fearne/Valo: Response
Realizing that all Korras had was a bat’leth, Rork took his phaser pistol off his hip and offered it to the Klingon. Though he was sure Korras could cut them a swath through the Alliance, except that Tholians explode on death, and being taken out that way was not on his bingo card.
Kiran: =/= We can hold here for the time being, commander, but we’ll need to rush that airlock sooner rather than later. =/=
Korras: Response
Raga’s team was hammered with disruptor fire from Rork's and Karras's vantage points. They were doing the best they could to hold the Alliance back. He noticed the XO and Valo seeking cover from his vantage point. It was time to announce their presence before trying to rush the airlock. Kiran fired into a crowd of grenade-wielding Alliance members, a Tholian, and three Sheliak. He was able to down a Sheliak (who dropped his armed grenade), but that gave away their advantage.
As the remaining Tholian and Sheliak turned to face Rork and Karras, the dead Sheliak’s grenade went off. Out of reflex, he hit the deck and dragged Karras with him. The explosion sent a shock wave toward the pair, and then the Tholian exploded, adding to the mass event. Panels fell from the ceiling, and a couple of EPS conduits exploded in a shower of sparks, sending the smell of ozone into the air.
Raga: Valo, cover the left corridor but stay on the right side of our hallway. Like I’m doing on my side. This will keep you safe from fire down the opposite side, but you’re more exposed to the one you’re firing at.
T’Fearne/Valo: Response
Rork stood and sought cover behind a bench with a large potted tree, looking completely out of place with what was happening around him. He waved Korras over so they could plan their next course of action. There was another team of unknowns on the opposite side of where they were, which was the start of a plan. He peeked up behind the bench, firing a few shots, tagging a Sheliak that didn’t go down immediately. It turned and fired, and Rork ducked again, the disrupter bolts traveling through the space where his head had occupied a second before.
Kiran: Look, someone is making a ruckus on the other end of this, and it’s distracting them. I saw that we used that to our advantage and pushed the airlock. If we can reverse this on them and shove them in it, instead of air-locking the entire deck, just the remaining Alliance forces.
Korras: Response
Everyone's combadge came to life. It was an unfamiliar voice to Rork, but one of confidence. You’ve made me very angry all rolled into one—it was the Calvary.
Nicholotti: =/= To all Lattice Alliance ships and forces; you have picked the wrong day and the wrong people to bring this fight to. You have ten minutes to withdraw, or I will take care of that for you. Your time starts now. =/=
Rork let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding.
Raga: =/= Raga to all teams, the Excalibur is here. Help is here. Hold the Line! We are not losing this day. =/=
T’Fearne/Valo: Response
Kiran:::smiling at Korras:: Well, I’ll be a Prophet's uncle; the backup has arrived.
Korras: Response
He nodded at the Klingon and fired on the Alliance, taking out a Tholian that took out a Sheliak. This grabbed the attention of a few more of the Alliance that Rork had anticipated. They turned and unleashed hell, disruptor fire lighting up the hallway. Rork was still ducked down and wished he still had a grenade left. He popped up to a knee again, firing as he did so. He wasn’t sure what was happening, but the Alliance seemed mad as hell.
He was pretty, which made them mad, but he didn’t have time to think about it. They were now throwing everything they had at everybody. It was an absolute killing field: exploding Tholians and plasma grenades took out a couple of the station's security teams. Korras and Rork were just the distraction that Raga needed, as by drawing their attention, they were less focused on that end of the corridor.
The goal was to bunch them up in the center of the hallway, where the air-lock was located. Once there, you just needed to open the door and force them into the airlock, slam the door shut, and boom, jettison them into space. Seemed easy enough.
Raga: We’ve got one flash grenade left. Valo, when I give the order, toss it behind you down the right corridor as far as you can.
From Rork’s vantage point, he could just see Raga and the rest of the team; it looked like he was brandishing some weapon that he’d never seen before. He was focused on the opposite end of where Rork and Korras were.
Valo: Response
Raga: =/= Raga to Kiran, they’ve overrun part of our lines and are pushing up the starboard stairwell. They’re trying to set up another disruptor cannon. I think there’s another team harassing the Alliance by the airlock; someone got behind their lines other than you. Might be a good idea for you and the Klingon to push now. I’m about to give their friends an isomagnetic greeting. =/= ::he looked at Valo and nodded:: Now, Ensign!
T’Fearne/Valo: Response
Kiran: =/= Aye, saw that. We would use them as a distraction, but from here, it looks like you brought a big toy to the party. And yes, we’re pushing now.=/= ::tapping his combadge to close the channel:: Time to go Ensign.
Rork motioned Korras to follow him.
Korras: Response
First, he saw the flash grenade fly through the air; he didn't need to gawk any longer, and it was time to push the airlock as the Alliance forces started to thin out. That’s when it saw something out of the corner of his eye. A large purple energy bolt shot into a crowd of Sheliak and Tholians, removing a sizable force and thinning their numbers further. The fact their inhibitors were still working was a blessing, as they couldn’t replenish their troops as easily.
Things were starting to look up.
Raga: =/= Delta and Tau teams move, retake the starboard stairs and hold the line. =/=
Delta Lead: =/= Copy, Commander. =/=
Tau Lead: =/= Aye, sir. =/=
Rork fired again from cover, taking out two Sheliak before dodging incoming disruptor bolts. From what he could tell, Raga’s group was now concentrating on the same group he and Karras were engaged with. They were now going to have to fight a battle on two fronts.
Raga/Valo/T’Fearne//Korras: Response
Kiran: =/=Thanks for the help, ex-oh; we have them on the back foot. We need to keep pushing them; I’m going to make a play for the control panel to open the outer door...=/=
He gave a two-finger salute to the Klingon Ensign and headed towards the control panel. Rork hoped that Korras would cover him while he was at the panel.
Raga/Valo/T’Fearne//Korras: Response
Rork fired his phaser rifle again, this time taking out a Tholian, who then blew up, taking three Sheliak with them. He slid to a halt at the panel; he could smell the burnt-out controls before he looked at it. Without looking farther, he popped the panel open, revealing a set of isolinear chips, one of which was burnt out completely. All he had to do was jump over that chip to force the door open.
Raga/Valo/T’Fearne//Korras: Response
Rork reached into a pouch of his belt, bringing out a small metal toothpick. He then pulled out some of the ODN network they didn’t need for the door, normally used for security purposes, which he was bypassing, but skipping the burnt out chip, by removing it and inserting the metal and running a small amount of wire, to the relay it to the door mechanism,
He touched the wire to the metal and the door groaned as it slid open. There was a loud screech and crunch as the door stopped just under halfway open.
Kiran: =/= Hey, ex-oh, we’ve got an issue. The door is stuck, Any ideas?=/=
Raga/Valo/T’Fearne//Korras: Response
