((Outside the Damaged Reactor Dome, Moon Sigma in orbit of Gas Giant A, Ross 580 System))

Wren: I'm ready to go.

Delphina  paused, watching another time ripple go by with a small amount of curiosity. That would explain the terrible corrosion she’d seen going on in the probes, and the interior of the shuttle. oO I wonder if it just ages things up, or if some of them age things down…. Oo ::trying to scan it, before frowning, as the ripple is gone::

O'Connor: Yeah, let’s very much avoid those.

T’Fearne: Response

Shortrith: I'll keep my tricorder on the highest setting, continuing to scan for life signals.

O'Connor: Guide us on then.

Wren: oO It looks as though my scanner picked up a slight resonance in the moments the ripple was here… Oo I’m going to modify my tricorder to recognize the approach of those ripples. A warning would be nice before we walk into one of them…. ::already distracted with her modifications::

T’Fearne: Response

Ian walked a couple of steps ahead and they approached the large structure.

Shortrith: Looks like we're here… Doesn't look like there's much left.

O'Connor: What do you guys make of that?

When she finally looked up again, Delphina felt almost as though she was looking a modern art piece. One half of the building had collapsed in on itself, and the other looked like it had been constructed just yesterday. She shuddered to think what might have happened to those unfortunate enough to be in the collapsed half.

T’Fearne: Response

O'Connor: All right then, if the life signs are that way.

Renaie glanced between the others and the unstable building.

Shortrith: I'm ready to go in when you are.

Wren: I haven’t detected any more ripples at this point, but I’m keeping an eye on it. oO It would be nice if I could actually sense anyone in there. Not sure if it’s the radiation or….let’s hope it’s the radiation. Oo

T’Fearne: Response

Delphina followed the others in, briefly spinning on her heel as the scanner emitted a musical note. She watched as another time ripple moved by, before disappearing again. Frowning, she re-routed all systems on her tricorder to detect the ripples and alert her as to where they were coming from, before slipping it into her pocket. It would chime again if a ripple was less than ten feet away.

With that done, Delphina examined the interior of the building. It didn’t surprise her that the interior was just as much of a mess as the exterior, though she wasn’t sure if that was due to the accident, or due to the ripples. Or both. As the little group walked through a new-looking hallway in the direction of the life signs, Delphina paused briefly in one of the doorways, looking inside. There was a messy bed inside the quarters, and, beside it, an empty pot of dirt. She looked at it for a moment, before glancing down at the sheets of the bed. They were messy, and definitely looked slept-in, but the entire room smelled clinical, as though it had never been touched. But there was something else beneath that clinical emptiness that it took her a moment to detect. Romulan flowers. But the scent was faded now, as though it had been painstakingly stripped from every inch of the room. Her eyes fell on the pot again, and for a moment, it looked almost as though the center of the dirt was caved-in…

Delphina left the room, one ear open for the sound of her tricorder as they all stopped at a closed doorway. O’Connor signaled her, and Delphina carefully stepped forwards, peeling the panel off the wall, about to do a manual override, before noticing something, oO Well that definitely shouldn’t be… Oo

Wren: ::thoughtfully: The door’s been reset to factory settings. If they’re trying to hide something, this isn’t the best way to do it. ::finishes setting the door up:: Should open now.

Shortrith/T’Fearne: Response

The doors slid apart and Delphina pushed the panel back into place, when she heard O’Connor’s cry of surprise.

O’Connor: What the???

Curious, Delphina poked her head around the door, eyes widening at the dozen or so babies that were waiting for them. For a moment, Delphina was so stunned that she couldn’t think of anything to say, when she saw a Romulan baby crawling towards an exposed panel on an enormous computer system.

Wren: ::fully running into the room:: No! Not for babies, no! ::scooping up the now-crying Romulan:: Hey, hey come on, stop that. Stop. You don’t want to be electrocuted, that’s not fun. ::reaching into her engineering kit:: Hang on, I- oh! ::pulling out an assortment of ID tags that are tangled together:: Here, play with this ::handing it to him::

O’Connor/Shortrith/T’Fearne: Response

Wren: ::completely distracted:: I always forget that Romulans wear shoulderpads and aren’t actually shaped like rectangles…… what? Oh, ::tucking the Romulan baby under her arm like a football, reaching into her engineering kit again:: I’m guessing this has something to do with the time ripples we saw outside. If I had to guess, this is what’s left of the crew after walking through one of those things.

Shortrith/O’Connor/T’Fearne: Response

Wren: I mean it could be worse, at least they don’t know what’s going on…. At least I don’t think they know what’s going on, I can’t actually read babies. He still seems pretty broken up, though. ::handing the Romulan baby off to O’Connor, who is closest, before squatting in front of the broken panel:: This looks like it’s been kicked in, not removed properly. ::powering it down, before pulling out an old Sensor Relay emitter:: This is from the original Romulan empire. Romulan engineers have almost universally switched to the Vulcan systems by now, this site might be a lot older than we think…. Even with all the babies.... any way we can corral those guys?
