((Main Shuttlebay, Deck 03, USS Compass Rose — Timeskip to one hour post explosion))

They had all been recalled to the main shuttlebay on Deck 03. Somehow, whether by stumbling movements or site-to-site transport, they had made it here to rejoin Kel’s team.

The hulking silhouette of the T9 shuttle Luster stood as the bay’s sole occupying vehicle. The deck was a ruin of chaos, cables and tubes strewn like roots of some alien forest, tangled further by loose debris, scattered tools, and the odd overturned crate.

T’Fearne’s memory of the last hour was fractured. She recalled the team entering the Jeffreys tube junction, and then…nothing. She had no image of the Rose’s warpcore exploding, nor the moment the shockwave had struck. Just blankness. She must have hit her head in events because her temple still ached fiercely, and she could feel a trickle of moisture drying down the side of her face. The pointed ear on that side of her head had set up an insistent complaint, a high-pitched whine like an insect trapped in her helmet, buzzing around. She was ignoring it for now, but it was likely to become very annoying in the future.

Surprisingly, she didn’t think she’d broken anything, except maybe her dignity, and her suit's integrity was reading as intact despite the thrashing they had all taken. She watched intently to see that Alyndra, Om-Zora and Roop’s suits remained unimpaired.

From her seated position on the deck, she tilted her head slightly, angling her good ear to listen in on Alyndra’s conversation as the 2O approached.

Kel:  How is the team?

Syrex: Response

Kel:  Well that's positive news.  How are you holding up?

Syrex: Response

T’Fearne let her eyes close for a moment, trying to extend her senses. The pain in her head spiked and cut her concentration short. She stopped. Just breathed. Listened. Until the commander drew them all to him with a gesture, and she heaved gingerly to her feet.

Kel:  O.k.  I'd like Roop, Nakada and T'Fearna to come with me.  I'd like to have the ship's systems checked over and make sure there are no more surprises.  Dr. Syrex I'd suggest you and Om-Zora begin looking for more clues to the nature of this disease.  Kessler will accompany you for muscle.

T’Fearne avoided nodding; her head wasn’t in the mood for it. Babysitting two engineers didn’t sound taxing, though the thought immediately soured in her mind. Humans and Betazoids had a strong belief in superstitious in common. She should have known better than to tempt fate.

She drifted closer to Chief Kessler, switching briefly to a private channel. Her dark eyes sought his through the faint reflection of his helmet.

T'Fearne: :: only to Kessler's channel:: I know you’ll watch their backs, Chief. Keep a close eye on Lt. Syrex for me, please? I’m a little worried for her.

oO I’m a little worried for all of us. Oo

Kessler: Response

T'Fearne: :: only to Kessler's channel :: Thanks, Chief.

The teams began adjusting gear, checking tricorders and phasers. The tension in the bay was a taut wire.

Syrex/Roop/Nakada/Om-Zora: Response

Kel:  Dr. Syrex, where do you and your team want to start?

Syrex/Kessler/Roop/Nakada/Om-Zora: Response

T’Fearne listened and waited for Kel’s orders for her and the two engineers. Trying to focus on what she would need to do to safeguard them and how to best help any members of the Rose’s crew.

Syrex/Kessler/Roop/Nakada/Om-Zora: Response

T’Fearne glanced between them all, her voice growing steady.

T'Fearne: What about survivors? If we locate any Compass Rose crew still alive, do we tag them with transporter markers for immediate medical evac?

Syrex/Kessler/Roop/Nakada/Om-Zora//Kel: Response

She turned to Alyndra and reached out to briefly clasp what she hoped was an uninjured limb.

T'Fearne: Take care, Aly.

The security officer re-checked her gear and straightened, ready to make her way back to Engineering. She was interested to see the Engineering room of a ship after the warpcore had been ejected. Glancing from Kel, to Roop and Nakada.

Syrex/Kessler/Roop/Nakada/Om-Zora//Kel: Response

T'Fearne: Ready to head to engineering?

The security officer fell in alongside them, mind sharpening despite the throb in her temple, as the groups split and fanned out into the Compass Rose, heading for Engineering.
