It didn't feel right, forgetting about all those people.  People she'd laughed with, celebrated with and even fought with were now gone.  How could she just move on and leave them behind?  Surely it would be wrong to let go.  It was some comfort then that Xira Akani was still with her on the Ronin.

Akani: Hi.

T'Alia offered Xira a warm smile.  It was nice to have someone who had shared her experience to talk to.  It also helped that they had a shared heritage and faith in common.  She gave Xira a pat on the shoulder.

Dohna: Good morning.

T'Alia had grabbed a mug of spiced chia on the way to the table and now she blew on it softly to help it cool down.  Her mother always noted that the blowing did not do anything, but it had become such a habit that T'Alia did it anyway.

Akani: How are you?

Dohna: ::taking a quick sip::  I'm alright.  Trying to get into the swing of things here  on the Ronin.  How are you?

Akani: I'm okay… Slowly getting over grief of what happened on the Rose, and I think it's helped a bit with what happened with the alternate versions of Niac and Raga.

She thought back once more to the lamp in her quarters and the mountain of wax that had built up on the stand.  Even now she knew the candle was burning and the wax dripping down to add the bizarre sculpture.

Dohna: ::looking down at her tea:: I'm not even sure it registered, what happened to Niac and Raga.  I hardly know them.    ::pausing::  I still say the prayer before my duranja each day, for the crew of the rose.  I seem to be ::beat:: stuck.

Akani: ::thoughtfully:: I still do the prayers too. I think the only reason I felt a bit sad was because I had a nice experience when Niac visited me on the Blackheart. I didn't know much about Raga… the whole situation reminded me of the Rose crew.

The tea had cooled some at this point and she took a longer drink feeling the spice tickle the back of her throat.  She felt warmth spreading through her.

Dohna: Perhaps a holographic visit to the Monastery of the Kai would help.

Akani: I figure it would. It means a lot to both of us, our religion, so it would.  Are there any holy sites for Vulcans?

Dohna:  Vulcan holy sites are very boring. I went to P'Jem once.  ::smiling mischievously::  we had to leave because I couldn't sit still.

Xira giggled and T'Alia smiled thinking again about how cross her mother had been.

Akani: Hopefully the Bajoran sites are more interesting.

Now T'Alia chuckled.

Dohna: They should be, but I got thrown out of the Dakeen monastery for the same reason.

Her older brother Prylar was much more serious. She was more free spirited or in her mother's words, "undisciplined".  Her father was perhaps more understanding, but she had proven too wild for him on more than one occasion.

Akani: Where are the holodecks on the Ronin, if you know?

Dohna: I think they're on Deck 4?

Akani: You made a good point with the Monastery visit and I was just wondering if you knew where we'd go if we wanted to go.

Dohna: I'm sure there's a program for the Monastery of the Kai.

T'Alia considered  the idea thoughtfully, but then another thought crossed her mind.

Dohna:  Did you hear about that the Chief Surgeon and a Nurse got into a fight?

Xira: Response

Dohna: I  don't have any idea what it was all about, but I heard they broke protocol for the Dawn Gathering Ceremony.

Xira: Response

Dohna:  It's some kind of sacred meditation to celebrate the Tidal Bloom.  What if we went tomorrow morning?

Xira: Response

Dohna:  It's not strictly Bajoran, but aren't the Prophets aware of all things?  I'm sure they'd approve.

Xira: Response
