((Radiant Depths Marine Research Resort, Lolagi IV))
Shortrith: You okay?
Ślimak: ::swallowing:: I…don’t feel so good. I think I need to… lay down for a moment…Room spinning…
Renaie gently started helping their roommate over to the unclaimed bed, gently leaning her back onto the bed. They watched Dom, concerned, as she flung an arm over her eyes.
Shortrith: Any idea what could have caused it?
Ślimak: I don’t know what's happening, Renaie. I felt fine when I arrived a few minutes ago. Then the deck started spinning. I feel like the whole resort is tossing us around the ocean.
Shortrith: Ah, motion sickness. One sec.
Renaie retrieved their medical tricorder out of their pocket, and discreetly scanned Dom to confirm that motion sickness was the only thing that was causing her sickness.
Fortunately, it was.
Ślimak: I thought it would pass but it’s getting worse. Sorry about this Renaie. It’s not a good start to our trip, is it.
Renaie's hand was gentle but firm, rubbing Dom's back as a form of support.
Shortrith: It's okay, I've got you. We can move shoreside if you need.
Noticing Dom's panic, Renaie removed their hand from her back, and instead offered it as a stable point for her to hold.
Ślimak: Oh, Renaie, look out, I think I'm gonna rzygać.
Before Dom threw up, Renaie grabbed a spare hairtie off their wrist and held her hair back, tying it back so it stayed just in case. Fortunately, the collecting pot was a decorative potplant, which didn't look too great.
Shortrith: It's okay, I'm here, take your time.
Renaie gently took her hand in theirs, gently squeezing it supportively.
Ślimak: ::wiping at her chin:: Ooh, that pot plant didn’t deserve that.
Shortrith: Would you like some water? Some ginger? I know ginger helps with motion sickness.
Ślimak: ::nodding faintly:: Yeah, water would be good…ginger too.
Shortrith: Okay, I'll go get that - will you be okay on your own for a few minutes?
oO If you're not, I'm sticking around. Oo
Ślimak: Yeah, I think so. Just…don’t take too long?
Shortrith: You have my word.
((30 mins later - Crystal Beach, Harmony Shores Collaborative Resort, Lolagi IV))
Renaie had been able to get Dom to solid land, before shifting the reservation that the two had to a less shaky one. They'd placed their beach towel close enough to let her know they were there, yet far enough away to be able to give her space.
They glanced over at Dom, ensuring she was not nauseous, and gave a smile as they watched her stretch out, bottle of non-alcoholic ginger beer they'd acquired in hand.
Ślimak: This is much better! ::relieved sigh:: This is what a holiday should be like. Na zdrowie!
Renaie tapped their bottle of ginger beer (they wanted to get one themself, to quell any potential motionsickness that may arise) against their roommate's.
Shortrith: Cheers, my friend. Hopefully you're feeling better now.
Ślimak: I think the shoreside resort is the right call. I’m not dizzy and my headache is going away now that I’m not in or under the water. I’ve never actually been in a boat before, let alone floating on or under the ocean, I had no idea it would cause my head to spin like that. ::shaking her head:: I have no issue with space travel, I aced zero-gee. I just don’t get what the issue is with the water.
Shortrith: I'm assuming it's because of the constant changing and shifting of the water, not exactly stable in the way that is included with zero-gravity.
In their peripheral vision, Dom sat up from her towel, reaching for the cuffs of her jeans to roll up. Renaie also sat up, sliding the sandals back onto their feet before standing up.
Ślimak: I think I could even go for a walk along the shoreline, maybe wade through those rockpools over there. ::pointing down the beach:: Come on, let's go for a gentle walk so I can regain my land legs.
Shortrith: I'm coming!
Renaie offered an arm for Dom to loop through, ensuring she was stable before beginning the water. Occasionally, they paused to collect seaglass (and make a small collection, because, well, why not?)
oO I'm glad I was at least able to hang out with my friend. Oo
