((Astrometrics Lab - Deck 10 - USS Ronin))
And just like that, Ensign T’Fearne found herself procured to provide security on a planet-hunting expedition in the Jintara nebula. She listened attentively as the senior officers discussed the mission's scientific significance and potential dangers. Commander Alieth emphasised the likelihood of encountering hostile environments. The briefing underscores the importance of her role in ensuring crew safety as they explore the unknowns of space.
Lorana: ...As Commander Alieth indicated; Ensign T’Fearne is responsible for the safety of the crew. Crewman Fraslil and Grayson you’ll be running long range scans, and updating the astro navigation systems. You will be our torch in the darkness. Ensign Lyrik you’re expertise in planetary science will be useful should we, and I highly expect we will, encounter any celestial bodies. Lastly Ensign McVey you’ll be scanning the nebula and compiling a report on your findings.
Lorana: I shall be piloting us? :: there was a glint in her eye, almost a playful challenge :: Commander?
Alieth: Response
T’Fearne: ::Seized the moment to offer her expertise on the runabout:: Sir, I’m familiar with the flight specs of the volga-class runabout. Normal operations include 2 flight crew and a carrying complement of 10 passengers. I can provide the necessary certificate if you need a pilot or co-pilot.
Alieth: Response
Lorana: We should rendezvous in the Shuttlebay in 1 standard hour, and be ready to leave immediately.
T’Fearne: ::Taking The Lt.s comment as a dismissal:: Yes, Sir. I will retrieve my equipment and head to the shuttle bay for a thorough inventory check before departing. :swift exit::
Alieth: Response
((Turbolift - Deck 10/8 - USS Ronin))
Walking slightly quicker than her usual distance-eating stride, T’Fearne dashed into the closest turbolift that would take her to her new quarters on Deck 8. She had barely unpacked her belongings in the tiny bunk space and already she was assigned an away mission. She felt a mix of excitement and dread building up. oOI really should meditateOo
T’Fearne: Deck 8. ::Swearing silently to herself:: oO Oh,1Khrysar'akai! Leaving in one hour. So much to research and prepare. ::Taking a breath:: Calm. You know the standard safety protocols, so concentrate on analysing the new factors.Oo
Pushing her focus away from her emotions T'Fearne gradually became aware of a tacky sensation under her foot. Shifting her balance, she lifted her shoe to inspect the heel, revealing a half-dried glob of opaque red substance that had adhered stubbornly to the bottom of her perfectly shined shoe. Her slanted brow furrowed in perplexity as she cast her gaze downward, surveying the carpeted floor of the turbolift she had entered in a distracted state. A trail of colourful smears was embedded in the carpet, leading her attention to a conspicuous blue handprint marking the edge of the turbolift door.
T'Fearne: What is going on with this ship? ::Asking herself while scrubbing her foot clean on the soiled floor::
[Tags/End of scene for T'Fearne]
OOC: 1Khrysar'akai - Khrysarian Sword (Betazoid spiritual term)
OOC: I ran with asking to fly or nav IC because T’Fearne likes to fly, but she doesn’t have to, only if it's realistic that Alieth would give up the reins of her newly patched-up baby.
