(( Corridors, Deck 1, Main Compartment, DS33 ))
Valo: Targeting their cannon team.
The enemies that were mid process of setting up their own cannon were beset by the intense fire from nearly all of Seiuri squad to the point that several of the Sheliak and Tholians fell from the focused phaser fire.
Raga: Good, don’t let them get that cannon operational!
Kiran: Commander, do we have any transporter inhibitors left?
T’Fearne: I saw some active in the Embassy proper. There might be a few unactivated ones in a supply crate. I’ll check. How many do we need?
Raga: We should have a few. When we fell back I had a few of the ones we’d already placed brought with us just in case.
Just a couple of them could effectively block a decent area, but without redundancy in a battle, the coverage could be taken out unexpectedly. However, it was clear that not a lot were there to be had. He nodded at T’Fearne, and laid down covering fire.
Kiran/Breeze: Response
The Vulcan ensign rushed into the embassy, and not too long later come back with a few inhibitors, as well as an extra phaser pistol. Right now, anything and any weapon would be useful.
T’Fearne: We need to use these sparingly. Maybe carry them with us.
A pair of Sheliak came into view, and were quickly taken down.
Valo: Hey, what happened with the environmental controls up there? Are they managed via a separate control system?
Raga: Possibly. Those controls would be in Ops.
Seeing motion, Korras called out.
Korras: More are incoming!
Kiran/T’Fearne/Breeze: Response
His call hadn’t come in time for some of the defenders, two fell down, hit in several places, as three Tholians laid down a full spread of fire.
Valo: What about fire suppression systems? Some systems will use force fields and trap a flame, allowing it to snuff out all the oxygen. That….doesn’t seem like a good idea. BUT, if there is any kind of water or cooling mechanic built in on the starbase it might help these guys chill out.
Raga: Good idea, Ensign. Sadly with this many of us here too that could negatively impact our own people. ::A disruptor bolt whizzed past his head and he dropped lower, then popped around the corner to fire back:: That might work if we could freeze them out of Deck Two, since that’s where the ones using the stairs are coming from.
Korras: Also, If the amount of moisture in the air there is increased, it will freeze to the Tholian’s suits, which might hinder them.
Kiran/T’Fearne/Valo/Breeze: Response
A brief but rapid series of faint explosions caught his sensitive hearing first before it echoed through the corridors.
Solana: =/\= Starboard side breach!! They’re pushing through the lifts and a half dozen just beamed in. They’re heading for the starboard airlock in section five! =/\=
Raga: =/\= Understood! Raga to Ops, a group of Alliance troops just beamed in near the starboard airlock. I think they're going to try and decompress the entire deck! Can you block them? =/\=
Stergis/MacKenna: =/\= Response =/\=
Raga: =/\= Copy, we’ll see if we can deal with them in the meantime. Raga out. =/\= ::He looked at the rest of his team as well as a few of the other crew around them:: Seiuri on me, the rest of you hold position and keep them back.
He had no idea who Seiuri was, but Korras went with the group regardless, in the direction of the new fight.
Korras: On your six.
Kiran/T’Fearne/Valo/Breeze: Response
It turned out that a heavy firefight was the cause of their shift in position. Phaser and disruptor beams were crisscrossing through the corridor, with an occasional explosion interspersed into it.
Raga: Winds, there’s more of them. They must have beamed in reinforcements.
Crewman: Yes, sir. They destroyed the transport inhibitor near the airlock and have been beaming in for the last minute. Don’t know why they aren’t now though.
Raga: You can thank Ensign, T’Fearne for that. ::He gestured to the inhibitor on her person:: Ensign, set up one of those other two in that room right there. ::He gestured to the door a couple of feet from them::
Korras took position against a bulkhead, and opened fire. He even managed to hit some of them.
Kiran/T’Fearne/Valo/Breeze: Response
Raga: Kiran, Valo. Thermoplastic grenades, on the count of three the rest of you give us covering fire and then we toss them.
He had no grenades, and prepared to take cover.
Koras: Understood.
Kiran/T’Fearne/Valo/Breeze: Response
He nodded at the near dozen people around him and then gave the count.
Raga: Three….two…one. Cover!
Korras provided a full spread of fire, ready to duck behind cover once the grenades were tossed. A blast of disruptor fire passed by his shoulder close enough that he could feel the heat coming from it.
Kiran/T’Fearne/Valo/Breeze: Response
The grenades were thrown, and he ducked behind the bulkhead briefly as they went off.
WOMP! WOMP! WOMP!
He came out firing right as the blast passed him.
Raga: Medic!!!! Get him back!
Several enemies had fallen, but four of them were near the airlock. Three of them were firing to provide cover and using themselves to cover the fourth, who was working on the mechanism. They could not get near enough to them, and Korras looked around for any way to change that.
Korras: ::pointing at a hatch to a maintenance shaft:: Is this shaft connected to the one there? ::indicating another hatch near the group of alliance soldiers::
Kiran/T’Fearne/Valo/Breeze: Response
Raga: Focus fire on the ones by the airlock. We can’t let them bypass the safety lock!
The Al-Leyan squeezed off several shots toward the group in question, over the heads of those holding the enemy’s line or between them. He managed to catch one of the Tholians several times, and watched them drop after a few beams struck its shoulder and neck. Sadly, the other Tholian kicked his companion away before the exo-suit exploded and spared the Sheliak from being caught in its blast.
Korras: I can crawl through there, and get close enough to them to ruin their day.
He had done so most of the day already, he had gotten from the guest quarters to here through various access crawlspaces and Jefferies tubes.
Korras: ::passing his phaser rifle to someone else:: Does anyone have any grenades left?
Kiran/T’Fearne/Valo/Breeze/Raga: Response
He took the grenades, and pulled the hatch open. The shaft was tight, but it would not fit the Tholians or Sheliak, so he knew he would not encounter any enemies in there. He made his way forward as fast as he could. It did not take long for him to make his way to the exit he had intended. he primed the grenades, and pulled the hatch open. In a slightly awkward move, he tossed the grenades into the enemy squad, crawling back as fast as possible to avoid the detonation.
WOMP!
The heat from the blast singed his hair somewhat, but it was nothing too bad. He made his way forward again, getting out, and taking his bat’leth in hand with one fluid motion. He found one Sheliak left reeling, and cut into it.
Korras: Clear!
Kiran/T’Fearne/Valo/Breeze/Raga: Response
