((Shuttle Bay 1, Deck 9, USS Ronin))
With the Ronin having finished her most recent mission and now on shore leave, Jack found himself in the ship's shuttle bay preparing to welcome aboard a group of new officers for crew rotation and visiting guests who ranged from family members to Starfleet personnel interested in potential transfers from their current duty stations. Several shuttles were due to arrive within the hour but the first of the day had just touched down.
As part of his security detail Jack had several other Security officers there to assist the onboarding process. As several family members moved towards his other security check points a Vulcan deboarded the shuttle, dressed in Starfleet blue. Jack glanced at his PADD and checking this shuttles manifest and then quickly glanced back up to the Vulcan and stepped towards them.
Taj’el: Lieutenant Junior Grade Taj’el, reporting and requesting permission to come aboard the USS Ronin.
Kessler: Welcome aboard the Ronin Lieutenant. I'm Jack Kessler, Chief of Security for the Ronin.
Taj'el set their bag down and waited for further instructions. Jack was just about to ask what the Lieutnenat had brought with them when Taj'el leaned down and opened it without prompting. Aside from a medical field kit, several uniforms, and an arguably excessive number of PADDs, there was little else within.
Taj’el: The vessel differed significantly from the Thor in both design and overall scale.
Jack did not take his eyes off Taj'el as one might expect you to do when someone mentions the size of the ship. It was a curious statement from the Vulcan. The statement sounded more like a thought verbally stated in thought form.
Kessler: Yes, they do. Best part of getting to see these vessels first hand.
Taj’el: Clarification: what area of space does this vessel traverse? Additionally, here is a list of the medications currently contained in the hypospray, should they be required, Lieutenant.
As Taj'el asked the question and produced a PADD of their own Jack appreciated the thoroughness in preparation but it had been unecessary. Jack as well was thorough, very thorough at his job. No one came aboard the Ronin without he and his security teams doing a full background and history review of that person. It was not something he would adverstise and he would take the PADD to compare what the Lieutneant was providing against the Starfleet Medical database for this officers approved medications. Again, he left no stone unturned when it came to the safety and wellbeing of his crew or any visiting the Ronin.
Kessler: ::accepting the PADD:: Thank you Lieutenant, or do you prefer Doctor?
Taj'el: response
Kessler: Very good Doctor. The Ronin's current assignment has us patrolling the Alpha Isle's. ::turning a gesturing:: If you'll accompany me, I have guest quarters arranged for you on Deck 04. We'll drop off your gear and then I am assuming you will want to see the ship? Maybe starting with Sickbay?
Taj'el: response
Jack turned and headed for the corridor access with Taj'el at his side. He glanced over to the Vulcan who was a good deal shorter than he was and smiled.
Kessler: So how is the Thor doing these days?
Taj'el: response
Jack had started his Starfleet career on the Thor, fresh out of the academy. He had been wide-eyed and as eager as one could be to get out in space and the Thor had a very special place in his heart and mind.
Kessler: Yes, I served aboard the Thor right out of the academy. Amazing ship and you have a strong command team leading her. ::entering a turbolift:: Deck Four. ::turning to Taj'el:: So what brings you to the Ronin Doctor?
Taj'el: response
