((Medical Lab 1 - Sickbay Complex - Deck 7 - USS Excalibur-A))

Syrex: If we can recreate the caves of Mak’ala the symbiont may begin to relax, we could even create holographic symbionts can interpret the electrical signals using the ship's computer. In effect we would be able to talk to the symbiont without a joining being needed. :: Turns to a member of the medical team :: Where is the nearest holodeck? Can we recreate the caves of Mak’ala in there safely?

Luxa allowed the idea to be discussed for the moment, she wanted to see where the idea was going however she had deep reservations about moving the symbiont, yet again, after the traumatic and life changing events of the last hour for the poor soul.

Her tail swayed above her head, and she crossed her arms, as a Saurian nurse stepped forward.

Vaazqith: The nearest holodecks would be on deck 6, you may use the turbolift to get there. We may have a program for the location you specify.

Then another junior officer of the Excalibur-A medical team stepped forward. This one of Trill origins.

Vylax: We do, I programmed it when I learned of my heritage. It should suit your needs sufficiently. I will also add that I am joined, so I can act as the intermediary between Salix and yourselves organically, should you struggle to interpret the electrical signals. If you need me for this, my name is T’anara Vylax.

Syrex: :: Smiles towards Vylax:: Then it looks like we are spoiled for choice, :: snaps neck towards Lorana:: on your word lieutenant.

Luxa looked to the Trill, her eyebrows raised somewhat and a frown across her feline features. She shook her head except in the excitement the younger officers continued.

((OOC - I've discussed with Syrex writer and going to adjust the dialogue tags below. Luxa would not agree to moving an injured symbiont from Sickbay, so I've removed some of the dialogue as well.))

Syrex: :: Nodding :: Ok, Vylax, please begin your simulation in Holodeck 2, making sure that the specifications for symbiont life are accurate to the real caves of Mak’ala

Vylax: It wouldn’t be logical to spend time recreating an inaccurate simulation.

Syrex: I suppose it wouldn’t, but please check anyhow.

Lorana: :: sternly :: Officers.

Her voice spoke true and clear, it pierced throughout the medical lab and cut a silence through the room. Once she was sure she had the eager group of officers attention she spoke.

Lorana: We will not be moving this symbiont. The medical lab has all the equipment we need. The priority is to stabilise the symbiont and keep it alive. Communicating with the symbiont is a secondary objective. Given that they've already been moved, in a very dramatic and traumatising fashion we will not be moving it once again.

Luxa turned to the young Trill officer.

Lorana: It was a great idea. Yet, we have everything we need here in the medical lab to perform the tasks at hand. Let's focus on the symbiont. Ensign, can you ensure the composition of the pool is consistent with the substance we found on the station… it's likely the symbiont will adjust better in that solution and we will gradually change the viscosity over time.

Syrex: Response

Lorana: I'll be setting up the energetic resonance modulator to the computer systems. It's a long shot but if we can alter the resonance to match what the alliance had done … it may mean we can communicate with the symbiont.

Luxa moved deftly over to the computer's interface terminal, that the ship's CMO was kind enough to grant her access too.

She hadn't had much of a need to utilise her Xenobiological training in the field and she found that a nagging doubt had begun to gnaw at her. She wanted to reach out to Alieth and ask for her help.

Luxa was an astrophysicist and exogeologist. Alieth was the Xenobiologist and the doctor. She placed her paws on the sides of the terminal and inhaled a breath.

oO you can do this Oo

Syrex: Response

Lorana: :: with confidence :: Let's get started.

Luxa turned to Syrex and nodded. Then she turned to the other officers as they began to work on their assigned tasks.

Syrex: Response

Lorana: Good job Ensign. Nurse Vaazqith please insert the ERM device I've synced the computer systems with the device.

The Saurian lowered the small, glowing capsule into the pool steadily.

Syrex: Response

Lorana: Ensign Syrex adjust the temperature by 0.6 degrees. Vaazqith can you please increase the modulation by 3 points.

Syrex: Response

Lorana: How's the symbiont doing Ensign?

Syrex: Response
