Epilogue JP: Doctor Xal Rh'aga & Executive Director Singen Wrath - Rightsizing (PT2)

Singen’s stone-like lips pressed together into something only the clinically insane would consider a smile.  

Wrath:  Don’t worry, Doctor, the Consortium does not waste resources as flagrantly as you have.  ::With a finger he gestured towards the liquidation team member standing silently nearby::  Pick that up and take it to the experimental cybernetics division.  They’re always in need of…fresh meat.  

As his ears flattened atop his head, it shook vehemently and equally futilely as the guards scooped him up with the same gruff disregard as they had when he was brought in.  A fleeting plea that was equally pointless escaped his lips in that moment and he knew if anything it would only worsen what would come next. 

Rh’aga: Please, Director! Sssurely my skills are better served elsewhere!

The Worene’s tail dragged across the floor as he was carried from the room, fleeting as they were. The liquidation specialist leaned in to simply request which of the concurrent experiments to deliver the cat to. 

Specialist: Standard, or Borg, sir? 

Singen considered it briefly and eventually shrugged his vast shoulders.  

Wrath: So long as it never speaks again I could not care less.  Perhaps that new waste filtration system they were exploring would be a good fit for the Doctors…skills.  

The specialist offered the simplest of nods before leading the guards and their cargo out of the chamber. Unfortunately for Xal, his felinoid hearing permitted him to overhear precisely where he was to become the latest guinea pig. 

With the last of his more pleasant duties attended to, Singen turned his attention back to the myriad of details he needed to address as the research station was stripped and prepared for transport.  Soon this vast base would be nothing more than dust and radioactive vapor and he would need to submit his final report to Senior Management.  They would not be pleased to learn that the project, which had shown so much early potential, would need to be abandoned.  But their concern would be a small thing.  The Consortium had so many plans in motion at any given time Singen was certain that one among them would find purchase and when it did, he intended to visit the little ship which had caused him such annoyance over the last few years.  

He looked forward to watching it burn.
