Thess grabbed at one of the urchins now making a further mockery of what was already a mockery of a medical facility and came up with a handful of air.  The damnable scamps were quick.  She suddenly regretted placing her medicinal shotgun back in her quarters.

Ru: Hey, grumps - a - lot. What does this do?

Nelv:  Ru! Ru! Try the big one behind you!

Rox: ::tossing hypos::  Wyla, La Croix, catch!

Avae: ::she fumbled with the hypo a little but caught it:: Thanks.

She reflexively grabbed the device out of the air and found it fully loaded with a strong sedative, more than enough to restore some measure of peace and quiet to the facility if she could only get close enough to use it.  To her horror she saw one of the children grabbing at a very delicate osteoregenerator and waving it around like some sort of magic wand.

De La Croix: If you break that I'll have you over my knee!

The young Ms. Queen was finding her charms equally ineffective on the prepubescent demons as they ran circles around the lot of them.

Rox:  No don't do that!

Ru: Stop right there or I'll push the button. We'll all see what it does and that can't be good.

She dove for the precocious little rascal and his prized medical instrument but ended up tangled across a biobed, unable to snatch the tool away.  Thankfully someone had the presence of mind to snap a series of forcefields into place around the biobeds, containing the irritating foundlings and limiting the amount of damage they could do.   Unfortunately those fields kept her from moving more than a meter without being gently electrocuted.

Nelv: Aagh they got me Ru!

Avae: Oh, both of you knock it off. Or would you prefer to stay stuck as you are? We don’t have to help fix you.

Thessolonia didn't know who this woman was but was glad to finally find someone aboard this ship whose tolerance for nonsense was just as low as hers.

De La Croix: Either you two start behaving or we will turn this starship around and put you right back wherever it is you come from!  We will tolerate no more shenanigans or ballyhoo from you!

Rox:  Can either of you get the Privacy Fields down?

Avae: I can try, but then they’ll just get out again. We need to make sure they’re sorted first.

Ru: No sweetheart I can't figure it out but if you want to give me a clue....

Thess found herself shuddering at the entirely inappropriate tone and the deeply salacious wink.

De La Croix: Another word out of you and I will be replicating a bar of soap for you to wash your mouth out with!

Rox: How about the controls for the Alpha Wave inducer.  Maybe we could all have a nap.

Nelv: I don't want a nap!!

Avae: I don’t care! There are people you probably know in the next ward dying from radiation sickness and we can’t help them cause we’re in here dealing with you two.

Ru: Hold on Nelv, one of these stupid buttons has to release the fields.

Thess looked on in muted horror as the idiot child began randomly tapping at the controls in at the foot of the medical bed, first changing the anatomical scan to default to Bolian, then changing the density of the bed to something that would support several hundred kilos, then at last upping the humidity inside the field to something a bog dwelling species would find quite pleasant.

De La Croix: You could slam your fingers against those controls until they were worn down to nubs and you still wouldn't get the fields down you little scoundrels!  Now I insist on being released right this instant!

Rox:  This is going to be a really embarrassing call to the bridge.

Avae: No, wait. I have an idea. The privacy fields are basically containment fields. We can pump anesthezine gas into them and it’ll knock everyone inside them out for a few hours.

Ru: ::looking to Avae:: Hey!!! That's not very nice of you. Gassing children. I think there is law or something against that.

De La Croix:  Frankly I think it's a capital idea.  Then they can't object if I were to amputate anything...::She allowed the implication to hang heavily in the air for a few moments::...Out of strict medical necessity, of course.

Rox/Nelv: response

Avae: Or we could just beam these two into the isolation chamber. The last plague I was exposed to should have been cleared out of it by now.

Ru: Go ahead and try it. You just try and it and see who will RU - IN your day. ::beat, grinning:: That's right you, I will RU - IN your day.

De La Croix:  Well I was going to start by amputating your sense of humor but I can see someone has already beaten me to it.  By all means Nurse...I don't even care if the isolation chamber is sterile at this point.  I can fill out the appropraite death certificates in just a few minutes and, in this rare case, I may even enjoy myself.

Rox/Nelv: response

Avae: Computer. Flood all enabled privacy fields with anesthesia gas, enough to safely render the occupants unconscious for twelve hours. Excluding medical personnel. Authorization Avae Six Two Nine Delta.

Computer: Authorization accepted.

A few moments later the soft hiss of gas being released signaled their release into the privacy fields.

Ru: Nelv!!! ::grabbing his nose:: Don't breathe it in! Hold your breath.

Thess looked on with satisfaction as the computer complied and the gas hissed into the isolation fields containing their two miscreants.

De La Croix:  After they're inert we can get to work on the other patients...and we'll rose them...eventually.

Avae/Rox/Nelv: response

Ru: ::still holding his nose:: Computer, stop gassing us. This is a violation of our.....::beat, getting light headed:: Computer, gassing children for no reason is wrong. You will be deprogrammed.

Thess scowled at anyone and everyone, still trapped as she was.

De La Croix:  Perhaps we should tunnel our way out?  Don't these ships have all those little crawlways in them somewhere?  Jeff's tubes or some such? ::She looked around and sighed in profound annoyance:: What a preposterous predicament.

Avae/Rox/Nelv: response

Ru: Take that you mean ad.......

Thess looked over in horror as the handful of antique isolinear chips came free and the computer blatted and horked, its command pathways disrupted to the point of near uselessness.  The alarming hiss that began to fill the field she was trapped inside was all the evidence she needed she'd soon have a dreadful headache.  She began looking around for anything useful even as the gas began doing exactly what it was meant to do.

De La Croix:  We've got about thirty seconds before we're insensate.  Can either of you load a hypo with ADTH in it?  That'll counteract the anestezine.  There's nothing in here I can use as a stimulant.

Avae/Rox: response

Thess sagged against the biobed and suddenly found the whole absurd situation terribly funny.  The clinical part of her mind cheerfully informed her she was succumbing to the effects of the gas but she propped herself up and looked around for anything else that might help.  A small cabinet at the base of the biobed held emergency supplies and she began pulling them out at random.

De La Croix:  Need...a...filter...or...patients...will...die...

She giggled entirely inappropriately.

Avae/Rox: response
