((Counselling Suites, Deck 10, USS Ronin))

Shortrith: Hello? Are you working, you stupid replicator?

Renaie tried hitting it gently, then a little harder, but nothing worked. They raised an unserious eyebrow when Xira giggled.

Akani: It's okay if it doesn't work, I'll grab one from my quarters.

Shortrith: You sure?

Xira nodded, genuinely.

Akani: Yeah sure! I might leave you to figure this out, I think our session was coming to an end anyway.

Shortrith: No worries.

Renaie waved as Xira left, before heading to the computer to write up the session notes.

They were just about to save the notes onto the backup-

Renaie was glad they were alone, because they swore loudly in Klingon, German, and Standard.

Shortrith: Did today's notes just delete themselves????

Renaie grabbed the nearest non-valuable thing and yeeted it across the room.

It didn't have the smash impact they hoped.

They tried testing the replicator again… but nothing.

Exasperatedly, Renaie opened a comm channel from their desk. There was an element of stress in their voice that wasn't common in them.

Shortrith: =/\= Shortrith to Evinrude, any chance you could come down to my office? My replicator isn't working and my notes from today deleted themselves! =/\=

Evinrude: =/\= Counselor? Slow down, you said something is going on with the forcefields in your office? =/\=

oO That is nowhere near what I said. Oo

Shortrith: =/\= ::almost snappish:: No, I said my replicator wasn't working, and my notes from today deleted. =/\=

Wren: =/\= Sorry, Counselor. We’re dealing with some issues with the gel packs. Evinrude and I are working on it. =/\=

Evinrude: =/\= What's wrong with your replicator? =/\=

Shortrith: =/\= The files must have corrupted or something. I don't know what happened to my replicator. =/\=

Evinrude: =/\= It seems unlikely that those systems are affected by our work here. =/\=

Shortrith: =/\= Any chance you could come down and help? =/\=

Evinrude: =/\= We need to visit deck ten anyway. Will keep you posted, Counselor. =/\=

A small smile crossed their face.

Shortrith: =/\= Cheers. =/\=

After what seemed like an age, Renaie heard the comms open back up again.

Evinrude: =/\= Evinrude to Shortrith. Could you join us for a moment in the medical wing? We need to...check something out here, and I'd like to hear more about what's going on in your office. =/\=

Renaie let out a long, slow exhale before rising from their seat.

Shortrith: =/\= On my way. =/\=

((A few minutes later, Sickbay Complex, Deck 10, USS Ronin))

After a few minutes of searching, Renaie had more or less found the two goldshirts. They gave the two a wave as they approached. Noticing Wren's grimace, they raised a curious eyebrow.

The little bot thing near Wren appeared to be… dancing.

Wren: Remy? What are you doing? You hate this….. ::to Tess:: He really does, he never does this on his own. I stopped asking him to do it ages ago.

Shortrith: Could it be part of the computer system issue?

Evinrude/Any medical staff: Response

Wren: Well….. I guess that I can check in on him later. Let’s take a look at the systems in here.

Remy: ::hurrying over to the medical staff member, resuming his dance::

Shortrith: May I rant about technology? And what happened?

oO Please say yes please say yes please say yes. Oo

Evinrude/Any medical staff: Response

Shortrith: Pretty much my replicator wasn't creating anything when I asked it to, even when I… um… hit it. Not to mention my files from today deleted or corrupted, completely unprompted.

Evinrude/Wren/Any medical staff: Response

Shortrith: It was only today, and I have all the other days' notes on a backup drive.

Evinrude/Wren/Any medical staff: Response

Renaie sighed, shaking their head.

Shortrith: Not that I'm aware of.

Evinrude/Wren/Any medical staff: Response
